Fiona was sitting all alone in the living room happy that Laurence and Clarissa had left the house for their son's house when she received a call from her ally.
"What do you want? I thought we agreed not to contact each other in the meantime." She said with a frown.
"Well change of plans, meet me at the Plaza Hotel, I decided to come back earlier than planned." The person disconnected the call leaving her furious.
She rushed to her room and changed her clothes, took her bag and phone with some cash and rushed out. She decided to drive herself to the hotel because she didn't want the driver to know her destination.
When she got there, she asked for her room number, which the receptionist gave her upon confirming with the person who was in the said room. Fiona stomped to the room.
"What the hell? Didn't we agree to wait for my signal?" She asked.
"Oh please, Auntie, When were your signals supposed to come? After she had birth that child in her womb?"
"Phoebe that wasn't the plan, and don't forget that I'm in control and you listen to me!" Fiona yelled.
Phoebe laughed, "Auntie you are not in control, and we both know that there's nothing you can do because you need my help. You need me more than I need you because as much as I want to destroy Maxwell's relationship with that girl, it's not my top priority." She walked to the wine bar in her room and poured herself a glass.
That's when Fiona realized that she was clad in a bathrobe, she walked to the wine bar and poured herself a glass of wine too. As much as she hated it, Phoebe was right, she needed her and couldn't do anything but accept it.
"Cheer up Auntie, the earlier the better." She chuckled and down the entire content in her glass.
"What is your plan?" Fiona asked.
"Well finding my way into his house which we both know wouldn't be a problem. All I need to do is cry and look helpless, that's all it takes for Max to let me in." She poured herself another glass and gulped it.
"He has always been a sucker for you, so that wouldn't be hard. I'm going to head back, do as you please. I just want the result to be favourable for me, you can do as you please with him." Fiona emptied her glass and took her leave.
The next day, Maxwell was heading to work, he was staring at a file in his hand when his driver suddenly hit the brakes, he wasn't wearing a seatbelt which resulted in him crashing into the car seat in front of him.
"Margo damn, what was that?" He asked. Luckily he wasn't hurt.
"Sorry boss, we almost hit someone," Margo said staring at the person who due to fear had fallen or so it seemed.
Maxwell hurriedly stepped down from the car and rushed to the lady, "Are you okay? I'm so sorry, my driver didn't see you."
The person stayed on the ground without uttering a word, he thought she was hurt so he tried to hold her, her hair fell from her face revealing the familiar face of someone he knew all too well.
"Phoebe?" He called,
Phoebe raised her head as if she didn't know that he was the one, she looked surprised. "Max." She called, she threw herself on him, and he was quick in catching her. Phoebe burst into tears leaving him confused.
He didn't know if it was because she was hurt or maybe because she saw him. He carried her bridal style to the car and placed her in it. "What happened are okay? Did we hurt you? When did you get back? Why do you look like a mess?" Maxwell filled her with questions.
Seeing as she wasn't speaking or answering a word, Maxwell turned to his driver and ordered, "Take us back home."
The driver nodded and took them back home, he helped her into the house and helped her to reach the living room. She was still sobbing and this made Maxwell worry some more.
Morgana heard them from the kitchen, she came holding an apple. She was surprised to see her ex-husband with a crying girl inside the living room. "What's going on?" She asked making herself visible in front of them.
"Maxwell," Phoebe called, she cleaned her tears, stared at him with damped eyelashes, blinked and sniffed.
"What happened Phoebe? Did you get hurt from the fall or did the car touch you?" Maxwell asked, he crouched down beside her.
"What do you mean by the fall or car? Did you hit her? Then why did you bring her here Maxwell instead of the hospital?" Morgana asked worriedly.
"No...no.., I am not hurt. I am crying because I'm happy to see Maxwell again after a long while." She sniffed her tears.
Because of what happened, Maxwell didn't even have time to hug her and welcome her back. "Do you two know each other?" Morgana asked.
"Yes, Morgana this is Phoebe my childhood best friend, Phoebe meet, Morgana, my wife."
Phoebe gasped feigning ignorance, "You are married? Congratulations." She finally stood up and hugged Morgana first before hugging Maxwell.
"What happened to you?" Maxwell asked, he took in her appearance, she looked miserable, thin, not the normal model size, she was beyond that.
"Where do I start Maxwell?" She sobbed again, "The industry I've been working for suddenly doesn't need me anymore, I've been kicked out. They said they wanted a new face." She cried.
Among everything she had said and done today, this is the only honest thing among them. The reason she is helping Fiona is so she'll be able to milk Maxwell dry using the feelings he once had for her and their friendship that hasn't ended since then.
But she didn't tell Fiona all this of course, if Fiona knew about this, she would know that she needs her as much as Fiona needs her too.
