I arrived home from school, exhausted from today's lessons. Sport, science, math, and literacy? Ugh, the worst subjects in a single day- I guess at least there is science that I don't mind, but still, super boring! I take off my shoes and put them next to the door out of the way so that Mum or Dad doesn't trip over, I don't need either of them breaking another bone!
"Mum, I'm back!"
I call out, waiting for a response. I guess the only response I get is a bunch of pots clashing and scraping against each other from the kitchen. She's probably already making dinner for tonight at this hour.
I huff before running up the stairs, swinging the door open to my room, and closing it. I take off my uniform and hang my clothes on the hangars, putting them on my wardrobe handles so I don't have to climb inside my wardrobe to get them all the time I lay back on my bed, staring up at my starry roof me and Dad painted a while back when I was a baby. A thought comes to mind, It's still around 4 P.M, my show is still on!
I exit my room and start racing down the stairs before jumping up and landing on the couch, the whole cushion sinking down a bit and airing out as if it were breathing. I sit back and throw my legs over the edge of the couch as I reach for the remote. I turn on the TV and switch to channel 11, the kid's channel or what I prefer, my channel.
When I flick channels to channel 11, a glimpse of my favorite series plays just before it goes straight to an ad! Talk about timing. To my surprise, it's a different ad, half the time it's always the same few ones over and over. I turn up the volume a bit more and watch, curiosity sparking in my mind.
