His attention was elsewhere.
<(+ 200 mana)>
'200 points! the rabbit gave me 200 points !' Zane was ecstatic. Each flower had only given him 2 points but the rabbit gave him 100 times more than that!.
'I guess actually living things give more mana. But plants are also actually alive. Then let's just say things which can fight back or run away give more mana' Zane happily thought. If his smile grew any wider his mouth might break.
However, Owen and Olivia where seeing something they didn't know how to explain. Their sweet little boy stood there, a bloody knife in one hand and the head of a rabbit in the other. His white cloth shirt, his smooth white hair and his innocent face covered in blood.
However they where not sure how innocent that face was, the smile it exhibited was nothing but innocent. If horror movies had been invented, they would think Zane came straight out of one.
"Z..Zane ?" Olivia asked with uncertainty.
'What if he got taken over by the Mathematics demon again ?' she thought in pure terror.
"I'm fine mother, i will just be in my room for some time. I promise to tell you everything when i come out" Zane smiled. Further freaking out his parents....well freaking out Olivia.
"Not happening. You tell us what this is all about right now. Why where you so adamant about killing the rabbit ?" Owen firmly asked.
"Please father I will tell you when i come back I won't take long i promise!" Zane said while turning and power walking in the direction of the house. Falling face first on the ground but standing up a second later, smile still on his face.
With some minor difficulties, Zane made it to his room and closed the door. He wanted to lock but turns out locks hadn't been invented yet...or maybe just his house didn't have any. So he sat with his back on the door to block anyone coming in.
Of course his body weight couldn't stop anyone but at least this way he would feel it when someone tries to enter. He didn't want his parents to see what he will be doing, he wanted to surprise them. Zane just hoped that 205 mana points where enough for his experiments.
'Ok i need to use mana to help me see. I know that i can see condensed mana easily when it is out of a body. I can also see objects which have high quantities of mana inside them. Like the mana pill and my hand at that time.' Zane started his thought process.
'I can obviously only use my mana and since I don't have an element my mana should be invisible to other people. Since pure mana is dangerous to non supreme mages does that mean my mana could hurt people without my consent ?. I guess i will never know for now.'
'Come on Zane think ! you where once the best programmer in the history of mankind and now you are the blind child of farmers in a world without technology, you can do this!' he motivated himself.
'I can only see mana , but i need to see the world..... Wait what if the world was covered in my mana. Like you in the movies if you paint a ghost. You still won't be able to see the ghost but you will be able to see the paint covering the ghost !!!.'
'I need to see if my mana can stick to objects like paint' Zane opened his hand and brought some mana to his palm. He only took mana equivalent to 20 points though. Then he slowly willed the mana to come out and turn into his signature ball. Which he didn't hesitate to name 'Mana ball'
<(- 20 mana)>
This time Zane wasn't mesmerized by the beauty of his mana ball. He quickly stood up and faced the door behind him, ball in hand. Then he moved about a meter away fron the door before throwing the ball.
The ball didn't make a sound as it hit the door, and he could still see it, however it had changed shape. The ball had hit the edge of the door and part of the door frame. Zane could still see it but it wasn't a ball anymore. It was exactly what Zane imagined would be like if he threw a ball of paint at an invisible door.
The mana ball had outlined the door and part of the door frame, however since the ball was small to begin with, the 'paint splatter' was a circle of about 15 centimeters in diameter. Zane then blinked and the ball had disappeared.
'WHAT !!' Zane was surprised. He quickly made and threw another mana ball at the door. By now he was efficient at moving his mana throughout his body. It took only a second to create another ball.
<(- 20 mana)>
This time the ball hit the center of the door and Zane focused on it.
1.
2..
3...
GONE !.
After three seconds the ball disappeared, or more like faded. Zane could now guess the cause of the disappearance. 'My mana balls are made of my condensed mana and if i am not wrong the air is also filled with mana, although it isn't condensed and that's why i can't see it.'
'If i know my science, which i do, the molecules in my condensed mana are in higher concentration than the mana in the air. So my mana molecules will then diffuse into the air untill the concentration is equal again. Its simply Osmosis.' Zane thought, proud of himself that he still remembers stuff he learnt more than 500 years ago
On order to counter this problem, Zane could increase the density of his mana. That way it would take longer for it to completely disappear, granting him a few more seconds.
However increasing the mana density would obviously use more mana. Zane couldn't just start breeding rabbits to kill everyday.....or could he?. No he definitely could not.
Zane also noticed that his mana balls where very bright. Even if he gets a lot of mana and increased it's density then went around throwing mana balls everywhere, the brightness of all that mana would blind him....again.
'I have to reduce the density or concentration of my mana until i can barely see it. That way it will not be so bright and i will also save mana.' Zane thought before making another mana ball, however this time he only used 15 mana. He then threw the 15 mana ball at the door.
<(- 15 mana)>
'Still too bright, again'
<(- 10 mana)>
At 10 mana the ball was just visible but not too bright. It was to the point that if it where in his peripheral vision, he wouldn't even see it.
'Perfect!' Zane thought as he looked at the 10 mana point mana ball, which had disappeared a second later.
Due to the fact that the 10 mana point mana ball had such a low concentration of mana, it quickly disappeared due of Osmosis. However Zane couldn't stop this so he had to live with it.
Then came the next problem, the mana ball was just that a small ball of mana, in order for Zane just to see the full body of a person, Zane had to hit said person with at least a hundred mana balls , every second.
"ARRRGH!!!"
Zane screamed in frustration, this was way harder than he thought. However...
"Wait !!!! I got it ! spray paint !!" Zane shouted before releasing a loud evil villain laugh.
"I...i think we should send for pastor Adam" Olivia whispered to Owen in concern.
