Two days, Zane hasn't slept for two days. Olivia and Owen where worried sick about his health, and mental state. He only came out of his room once a day to get some food and then returned to his place of confinement.
When Olivia demanded an explanation, through the door, Zane said 'You took me to the playground mother and i couldn't play with other kids because i am blind. I am trying to fix that can you just give me more time i will tell you all everything'
Zane was currently sited on his bed like usual, his palm was outstretched like he was carrying something. If someone looked from the outside they wouldn't see anything, however for Zane he was looking at a mana ball, it was the normal 10 point mana ball.
Zane has been trying his 'spray paint' theory for the past two days and his mana points proved it.
'Lets try this one more time' He thought and suddenly the mana ball in his hand started to divide.
First it divided it's in the middle turning into two mana balls, then each of those mana balls divided again, and again, and again. Zane split the mana ball into thousands of tiny mana balls about the size of an average grain of sand. He called them mana specks.
Zane discovered that mana, just like anything else in nature wanted to be formed into the most energy efficient shape, which was the sphere. Zane tried making a mana pyramid and....let's just say it didn't work out.
He also figured out that no matter how many times he divided his mana balls, the mana density will remain the same in all the pieces even if their size changed drastically. One would think that dividing a 10 point mana ball would make two 5 point mana balls. However that was not true as both two balls will have 10 points of mana.
So right now in his hand where thousands of very small mana balls (mana specks), and all these balls had 10 points of mana. If it wasn't for Zane willing them to stay on his hand they would all lose connection with him and get mixed with the natural mana in the environment.
Zane took a deep breath and threw the mana specks at the door. Although the specks lasted only a second when they where no longer under Zane's influence, he still saw how they all splattered on the door, effectively spray painting it.
However zane saw that they only painted a circle of about 1 meter in diameter. This was way better than the measly 15 centimeters of the original mana ball. Zane also didn't fail to notice that some of the mana specks where clustered together when they hit the door and he attributed that to the way he threw the specks.
When throwing, he threw them like how he did with the mana ball so the specks left his hand in a group instead of spreading. He also guessed that it was because he was too close to the door. Like when shooting a shotgun, if you want power get closer to your target but if you want area, get farther away.
Zane then moved back until his back touched the wall. This time instead of throwing his hand, he decided to flick his wrist. hopefully that way the specks would spread more.
<(- 10 mana)>
"Wow !" Zane couldn't help but say. For an entire second, he saw the most beautiful sight he has ever seen in this world. The mana specks distributed perfectly and managed to cover the wall, door, roof and floor of Zane's room. To Zane the specks where like stars shimmering in the dark sky....in the shape of a room.
With those specks Zane could actually see !. Although he could only see white, it was still better than nothing. Even if the specks had long disappeared, zane was still imagining how the where like in his mind. For that one second he had memorized that part of his room. As if to prove it, he confidently walked towards his door and directly put his hand on the door handle without fumbling around first.
Zane smiled in bliss as he leaned on the door, he was tempted to spray another load of the white stuff in order to see the other side of his room. However he decided against it as he was about to do a presentation for his parents and he needed all the mana he had left.
'I can only spray three more times before i run out of mana' Zane sighed before opening the door and feeling his way towards the two voices in the house.
"Hello mother, Hello father" Zane greeted, he didn't know what time of day it was. His body was exhausted but the adrenaline kept him going and the gigantic bags under his eyes didn't help his case.
"Explain. What is going on with you, you know the only reason i let you do what you wanted was because your mother felt guilty about what happened the other day" Owen said. He didn't seem happy at all. Zane wondered if it was because he had missed a few days of work in the farm.
"Father do you remember the pill that the physician came with to fix mother's illness ?" Zane started
"What does this have to do with that ?" Owen interjected.
"Well that time i noticed that i could see the pill-- actually to cut the long story short, i can see mana" Zane jumped to the point.
"......."
"......"
Zane's parents looked at him with blank expressions, they obviously didn't know what zane was talking about. Which made Zane think, why didn't his parents study magic anyway ?. He would have to ask them later.
"Parents i am blind. However i can SEE magical energy" He tried to be as clear as humanly possible.
"What !?" Owen and Olivia said in unison. It seemed they finally understood what Zane meant.
"But magic is invisible son" Owen said.
"Not to me father and i can prove it. Is there anything on this table ?" Zane asked as he felt the table in front of him.
"There is--"
"No don't tell me!" Zane interjected.
Suddenly he flicked his wrist and his parents didn't see anything happen at all, nothing changed even after Zane did his weird hand movement.
"There is a closed pot over there, a knife there, a bow with it's arrows over at that corner and a loaf of bread over here. Which reminds me i am quite hungry" Zane pointed at the positions of everything as he sat down.
Reaching for the bread with precision and biting into it without wasting any time.
"Mmmmm you have outdone yourself mother. This bread is delicious"
Olivia and Owen's jaws where currently having a meet and greet with the floor.
