"The result is ready, every team showcased and invented their devices well." Teacher Wayne said.
"The first team with the highest mark is, team four, Alex, Beatrice, and Ranella." Teacher Wayne said and Bea screamed, hugging Ranella.
"The follow-up team with a high mark is, team three, your gauntlet was amazing, it just needed a little adjustment." Teacher Wayne said with a smile but Charlotte rolled her eyes, she wasn't the type to be so tensed up when she took second place but seeing Ranella take first place while she took second or lower than that made her blood boil.
"The next team is team two, I was honestly impressed, you didn't create an invention but instead you found a way to channel your power into the lenses." He said with a snap.
"And lastly, VC and Leo, team one, you did a great job but next time do something different." He said again but they weren't paying attention, instead they were chattering.
"You all did a great job, keep up the good work, and someday your inventions will be showcased in a magical museum." Teacher Wayne said again and then dismissed the class.
"Come with me please," Alex said and grabbed Ranella's hand, taking her to God knows where. they drew everyone's attention even Liam and Charlotte.
Edward began to make an oh noise, and soon the students joined. People were starting to notice Ranella more.
Alex took Ranella up to the roof and closed the door behind them.
"Did...did I do something wrong?" She stuttered while fiddling with her fingers.
"Yes, why didn't you tell me your brain capacity was impressive?" Alex said he looked amazed. He was right, there was more to this girl than he thought.
"How would I tell you that, we are not friends," Ranella said with a raised brow.
"So you don't consider me, a friend?" Alex countered.
"I...I didn't think..." She was at a loss for words.
"Ok then, I want us to be friends, there is a lot I still need to uncover about you." He said and Ranella's eyes widened, she stepped back crossing her hands over her chest.
He was slightly taken aback by her sudden action, he scoffed when he realized the meaning of his words.
"I didn't mean in that way, you are just so mysterious, I need to figure out why I can't hear your thoughts." He said again with a chuckle.
She dropped her hands with a pout on her lip
s. She was really cute and Alex felt the urge to pinch her chubby cheeks.
"Friends?" Alex asked he outstretched his hand for a handshake.
"Friends." She said with a smile and placed her hand in his for a handshake.
Her stomach growled and Alex chuckled. He walked towards the roof door and opened it, bowing like the gentleman he was.
"Let's head to the Cafeteria." He said with a smile and Ranella hurriedly walked through the door, fiddling with her fingers.
They walked down to the cafeteria which was located at the east wing of the school. The two went to the cafeteria together and seeing them together and smiling at each other while they chatted, sent some assumptions to the students in the Cafeteria.
Alex and Ranella got their tray of food from the counter and Ranella went to sit with Edward and Bea while Alex went to sit with his friends. A long desk and bench were sitting in the middle of the cafeteria that could take over ten students and it was reserved for the popular students in the school. The ANGELZ group and the Charlotte girls, since that was what Charlotte calls her coheirs. There were seven, sitting on the bench and there was still space for more.
"Hey, what's going on between you and the chubby girl?" Liam asked.
"Nothing brother, she's just good company," Alex said nonchalantly as he kept eating his dish without glancing at any of them.
"You can't possibly be friends with her, are you?" Charlotte asked, with disgust evident in her tone.
Alex sighed, he kept down his spoon, laying it on his tray, and looked Charlotte in the eye.
"She is my friend Charlotte, do you have a problem with that, I am not Liam, so you can't control my decision of who I want to be friends with," Alex said and stood up, walking towards the farthest corner where Ranella was, and took a sit beside her, causing Charlotte to scoff.
"This is unbelievable," Charlotte said.
"I've never seen Alex this intense about friendship before," VC said with a smirk.
"I think he has a crush," Leo said.
"Ha, a crush, on her, fatnella?" Cassie said and burst out in laughter and so did everyone on the table except Liam who watched his brother intently.
~Ranela's POV~
I couldn't believe it when Alex left his mates to come to sit with us, if he wasn't careful, a rumor might spread and I wouldn't want him to get caught up in that nonsense because of me.
"What's wrong?" Bea asked.
"I don't feel like sitting with them today," Alex said and shrugged it off with a smile.
"Whoa, so you prefer sitting with us?" Edward asked in disbelief, but he got no response from Alex.
"Tsk, what a snub," Edward said with a bluff.
"Aren't you eating?" Alex asked when he noticed I was staring.
I instantly turned away and dug into my food. This time I felt his gaze on me.
When we were done with our meal, I went over to Cherry's class, she didn't like it when I went to her class because she was embarrassed of me, but I had to anyway since she was taking too long to come out, the chauffeur was waiting.
I met her with her friends and upon seeing me her friends began to laugh and she shot me a deadly glare.
"Is that your sister?" They asked, laughing harder than before.
"No, she's my cousin," Cherry said and quickly turned away, taking her bag and walking out of the class in haste. I felt a pang of pain in my chest. I didn't believe Cherry denied being my sister, but at least she didn't deny being my relative.
I decided to look on the bright side and I walked out after her. She was already in the car so I sat at the front seat.
"Why did you go there?" Cherry asked with a frustrated tone.
"Sorry, you were taking too long to come out so I went to call you," I said.
There was silence for a while before Cherry finally said " I'm sorry, I didn't want them to laugh at me." She said, apologizing for denying me.
"Hmm, I understand." I simply said, but the truth was, I didn't understand a thing. Why do I have to be like this, even my sister denied me.
