Chapter 4 - Chase

The hylin ran inside the forests fearing for their lives. Fithrin ran along with them. I don't know where I'am he said and ran. He tried to catch up with them. But to no avail. Wait! he shouted and ran. The hylin did not bother. They ran without paying heed to his cries. Four horsemen came hunting for them. One of the horsemen caught the dwarf and put him

back on his horse. Where did they run? he asked the dwarf. He pointed at a direction. The horsemen galloped towards the hylin. Silence! said the hylin as they hid themselves in the deep forests. They were excellent climbers and sat atop trees with their eyes closed. They did not make a noise but only heard the rustling of the leaves on the ground and the trampling of the mud on the ground. The horsemen circled around them and left after a while with the dwarf. The hylin leapt down from the trees confused and afraid. Trying to find their place in a world that would soon go on to favour them. We have to stick together, they said. Treacherous paths and even more terrifying men will cross our paths. If we stick together we can overcome all that lies before us, the bad and evil, she said. As they walked out of the forests, fruin the loyal servant of Zeus landed before them. Those days Furin was blood thirsty and lusted for the blood of Hylin. He took the form a wolf then, a large wolf and started to hunt them licking his lips every once in a while. It is Furin, they all cried and ran for their lives. He hunted them down one by one until only a few were left. He circled around them as they had their arrows out and pointed at them. He cannot die, they said and shivered. Furin taunted them for a while. His blood thirst was gone and he returned back to his man form. Please your lives to Zeus, he said and I shall let you live. We do, we do! They pleaded. Good! He said and left them alone. Furin then would go onto terrorise the hylin and make them pledge their allegiance to Zeus. The hylin cornered and desperate in a cruel world, would do so without hesitation. This man would one day die by our hands, they uttered. A curse that would one day come true.

But not for now, not for a long time. Furin terrorised the hylin and drinking their blood at will. They went and asked "Elveder", even he balked at the challenge to fight Furin. Elveder the warrior elf who has long lived in Plirhir rode Tykin. He was a valiant warrior and fought against evil when called upon. But he was sure that Furin would fall him

if they were drawn in a battle. I'm sorry, he said to the hylin when they asked for help. It is best you do what he says, said Elveder and walked away with his head hung in shame! But before he was totally out of earshot, he said something that gave hope to the hylin. Travel to the elithir, the east most part of the planet Plithir. There hidden in the caves is a mystical creature. He helps those in need, he said. The hylin rejoiced at the slightest hint of hope. The senior most hylin, a a company of twelve rode to Elithir. They had to hide from the 12 horsemen and traverse through the jungles. The 10 horsemen were out for blood now. Whoever crossed their path had to face the wrath of the elf horsemen whose kind had gone ragged. They did not now see the duty as they once did. Their purpose had changed and the reason we can explore perhaps later on.

Run and evade from them, said the hylin as the horsemen chased them around evermoyir. A valley that needed to be crossed to get to Eltihir and the caves. The problem with elithir was that there lived magical creatures then, and not now. These creatures were conniving in nature. Their appearances were deceptive and could easily fool

anyone. And you had to ask these magical creatures for the way to Elithir. Without their help, no one can reach Elithir. No one, even to this day. Not even crafts can pass through, only on land can the person be given a way to Elithir. The hylin chased by these men ran inside the valley and were lost. As they stood awaiting their death without hope, a magical creature came to them and showed them the way. Thank you! The hylin said and ran towards Elithir. When the horsemen came, they perhaps decided that it was best to send them the wrong way. There they pointed North and they horsemen trotted their way to the beginning of the forest. There was a witch at the end of the forests. She gave the hylin a magical wand and told them to be careful of the pit before the caves. Once you enter the pit, you will be be taken back to the begging of the forests, she said. The hylin took the magical wand and ride again. The magical wand gave them much needed light in the darkness. There! said the hylin at the pit. Most of them evaded and a few of them fell into the pit. Let them be, said the hylin and rode again. There! she said looking at the caves in the front. But before entering the cave, there needed to be a huge mountain to be crossed. The mountains were guarded by large grey wolves. A dozen of them guarded the caves. Beware! Said the head hylin.
