Chereads / Danmachi: Blessings of the Gods / Chapter 7 - The 6th Floor

Chapter 7 - The 6th Floor

I made a stop at the guild to turn my items to valis. There is also an option at the Dungeon, but I want to do it here in the future so I don't worry a certain employee, who still doesn't want to be my advisor.

I'm not giving up on that, but for now I receive 8.500 valis. Not bad for a first haul.

If I work one week, I should have the rent ready, but I need some for food and maintenance as well as some potions. I guess two or three weeks are enough and the last week can be saved for further equipment.

My weapons are good at this point, but I need better armor if I want to survive beyond the 5th floor.

My my money in the bag, I return to the tavern I now live in.

It was just past noon, so there are only some folk for lunch at this point.

Chloe greets me and I get some friendly nods from the others.

I go to Mia and give her 5000 valis.

"What's this lad?", she asks.

"First down payment on the rent of course.", I explain.

"Give me the full payment at the end of the month. Till then, you need that money to survive till then, so keep it.", she says while giving me the pouch back. I know she is a softy on the inside, but I didn't know she would but my safety before her greed.

"Imagine you die in there. How would I get the rest of my money."

Can I take my thoughts back? But maybe she only uses this as an excuse? Well hopefully.

"You can get a meal and take a rest as there is not much to do now, but come back down early this evening."

"Thanks, Mia.", I say and go into the kitchen to get a hearty meal from May and eat while talking with her.

Then I go upstairs and after take a quick nap I 'Update'.

Alex, Level 1

Strenght: E-482

Endurance: D-501

Dexterity: E-464

Agility: F-388

Magic: I-0

It has been three months since my birthday, but the attributes had the biggest growth of a whole 10 points in each category. My Endurance even reached D.

My Magic still is zero, but I can't change that. Grimoires are to expensive and I prefer not receiving one from Freya. But even if I get the ability to wield magic in the future and lose some attribute points in the early levels, I think I would still like a physical fight more. I always stuck my nose in everything and wasn't lay-back. My mental health would also decline as I simply kill without looking my foe in the eye. But that are just my current thoughts.

I cross the bridge when I come to it.

Now I have a few hours till work, so I should buy some potions.

Orario has two familias who brew potions in the future: Dian Cecht and Miach.

The first makes high-quality potions in greater quantity and the later has cheaper tonics.

The problem is that Miach only descends around the time Hestia comes down,

but since Ryuu only worked here one year, we should be 4 years away from the plot.

So my only possibility is Dian Cecht at this point.

After asking Mia for the way, I went north and found the shop after seeing a sign with a potion flask surrounded by herbs. A simple giveaway and I like it.

I walk in after a short knock.

"Hello customer, how may I help you?", a girl behind the counter asks. I only know the captain

Airmid, so I don't know if she is a familia member or a civilian employee hired for sales.

"I would like some health potions, but it's my first time here so do you mind telling me the prices."

"No problem. You see we have three different grades in potions. Low, mid and high. Above that is the elixir, but that is fairly expensive and needs some materials.

Low-grade health potions, which heal minor cuts or bruises, cost 500 and mid-grade 2.500 valis. Those can already heal cuts and slight organ damage, but broken bones are only mended and not repaired. High-grade cost 20.000 valis and can repair broken bones and organ damage to a certain extend. So what would you like?"

I only have 8.500 valis and still need to save some.

"I would like 1 mid-grade and 3 low-grade potions."

Even minor cuts could influence one in the Dungeon, so I invest nearly half my budget.

"Thank you. Come again.", she says after packing up the green and 3 light green potions for me.

"Hope it isn't so soon. Till then.", I answer.

After that I walk back and store the rest of my valis with the potions in my room before working the entire evening.

-

The next day I make my way to the Dungeon early in the morning.

I go down to the 5th floor quicker than last time and hunt there for a while.

As I now have potions, I venture into the 6th floor.

But keep near the entrance and stay vigilant of my surroundings including roof, walls and the ground. So as a shadow grew above me, I put the tip of my spear up and as the shadow flies down, I crouch and let it impale itself on my spear.

It died and I sigh in relief, but didn't notice another shadow on the wall to my left.

Through a movement in my vision, I turn my head and see black claws with three sharp nails slash at my head. As I crouched, I couldn't evade, so I let myself fall to the left and put the handle of my spear before me. I parried the claw but the other one reached my shoulder and cut into my skin.

The pain numbs my whole arm, but I only think of how to survive.

As my arms are bound to defend, I kick the war shadow away with my feet.

It slides two meters away from me, but accelerates in my direction again and I couldn't stand up in that short time frame. But I change the grip of the spear so the tip points at the war shadow and its fast momentum brings it to a quick death.

This time I make sure to check my surroundings, pick up the magic stone and drop item and return to the stairs to the floor above. I'm really not ready to enter this environment. My Agility is my weakest attribute if you take Magic aside and isn't high enough against multiple monsters of this floor.

While climbing back up, I drink one low-grade potion. Even if it doesn't heal me up, it helps my regeneration of the wound and I couldn't burn money by taking mid-grade potions for all occasions. It also should increase my Endurance stat. Stats of D or above are harder to improve.

So with few fights as I walk the main road back, I walk out of the Dungeon.

Coming to the guild I was asked by Rose to visit the office.

"I'll come straight to the point. The founder of the guild would like to meet you."

'So Ouranos has come to the same conclusion', I thought.

Dear readers,

I have an outline for the character.

Nonetheless I would like your opinions

to influence the story.

Therefore I request your ideas on future Blessings.

We should narrow it down to the greek mythology,

But like the first god, who was already guessed by a smart reader,

It shouldn't be only the main pantheon.

I look forward to your input.
