It hadn't been long since the Princess had forgiven Killian and he had caused trouble already. She glared at him furiously and he begged for a chance to explain himself. Thankfully, the Princess was still occupied by Heinrich's advice, which armored her with tolerance.
"I did not mean to disrespect you, my lady." Killian said, "I wanted you to recall the time when you purposely tried to distance yourself from him." He added hesitantly.
The Princess raised an eyebrow, not being able to recall.
"The lottery…" Killian specified.
"Ah!" The Princess quickly recalled, but then narrowed her eyes in confusion. "He is cold toward me because of that one incident? I just ignored him once. Once." She shrugged.
Killian exhaled, "I think it is for the better. Meddling with him has never proven fortunate anyway." He said bitterly.
Killian stood up and bowed toward the Princess, "You should rest now, my lady." He said as he turned around to leave.
