In the morning, the Royal frontman was able to request the audience of the Holy Roman Emperor and Empress. The Princess and Killian got dressed into their signature formal attires to see the Royal family. Before seeing the Holy Emperor and Empress, they were served breakfast at the guests' dining hall.
The two took seats in front of each other and commenced breakfast for the big event. Killian had all sorts of feelings surrounding his mind. He couldn't focus on the task ahead. Therefore, he couldn't eat breakfast properly.
"My lady," He said, gripping the fork in his hand tightly.
"Hm?" The Princess looked up at him while chewing calmly. She seemed to have no fear of the future.
"Do you trust him that much?" Killian asked, "Is that why you are at rest?"
The Princess passed a small sigh, "He can see the future." She said softly. "I am sure he can see the future. If he could not, why would he warn us to stay away from the Crown Emperor? He knew this would happen. I am sure he has devised a solution of his own."
"No man would declare a woman as his mistress in front of his wives," Killian said in frustration. "He would rather abandon you than let his reputation crumble in front of his wives."
"We will see." The Princess said, "There is nothing we can do instead of putting our trust in him."
Killian couldn't disagree more. No matter how nice Heinrich appeared from the outside, Killian was sure that he was just as ugly from the inside. If he was that nice, he should've been able to send the Princess back to Miraculum.
After breakfast, the frontman appeared to escort the Princess and Killian to the Royal Garden where the Holy Roman Emperor and Empress were seated.
Under the shade of a large parasol, the Holy Roman Emperor and Empress were sitting on cushions. The Princess and Killian went up to them, bowed down to them in respect, and offered them the Jade of Luck as per instructions.
"How thoughtful of the Great Father!" The Holy Empress, Anna of Tyrol, exclaimed with joy upon witnessing the beautiful Jade.
"It is the first time that the Great Father himself has not visited us," The Holy Roman Emperor, Matthias, said. "I hope his health is good."
"Your Imperial Majesty," Killian murmured in utmost respect, "The Great Father is enjoying good health by the grace of God."
Their history lessons were coming in handy. Miraculum had no religion and people collectively worshiped nature. However, after reading history books and current affairs, Killian had come to know exactly what kind of society they were living in. It greatly helped him in his speech.
"I hear you two are staying here under the Crown Emperor's orders." The Holy Roman Emperor said.
"Yes, Your Imperial Majesty. We must stay here for a week until the Great Father himself shows up to take us back home." Killian said.
"Why so?" The Holy Empress asked.
The Princess and Killian shared glances. Was it okay to tell them about their son's doings?
"The Crown Emperor knows better, Your Imperial Majesty."
That being said, the meeting was concluded. The Crown Emperor could answer the Holy Roman Emperor and Empress himself. The Princess and Killian didn't need to put themselves in more trouble.
Apart from everything, their stay at the Palace had been exquisite. The Royal family was very respectful and hospitable towards the Great Father's delegates. It almost made them wonder exactly what Heinrich's status was - considering how well his name was taken.
Days passed waiting for Heinrich until he finally appeared. A court maid informed the Princess and Killian that the Great Father had arrived and that they were summoned by the Crown Emperor. Legs were trembling, but Killian had to muster up the courage to escort his Princess.
The two walked to the courtroom, following a court maid. Entering the courtroom, their eyes went straight toward Heinrich, standing with his wife, Teresia.
The Holy Roman Emperor and Empress were present as well.
"The Great Father, I must apologize for calling you here abruptly." The Crown Emperor said with the utmost respect.
Apart from the current dire situation, the Princess couldn't help but wonder about the status of Heinrich. Even the Royal family was so respectful toward him.
"It is alright," Heinrich said calmly. "It concerns my family, so it is alright."
The Princess and Killian stood in front of everyone, waiting for the verdict.
"Please be done with it," The Holy Empress scornfully said to the Crown Emperor. "I need to rest."
She was expecting the first legitimate child of the union. The Crown Emperor was not her child and it showed.
"I called the Great Father here to ask him a question directly." The Crown Emperor said, "Can I do so?" He asked.
"Of course. Go ahead." Heinrich said nonchalantly.
"What is this lady to you?" The Crown Emperor asked, pointing at the Princess.
Heinrich looked at the Princess with a blunt expression. She looked back at him with a hopeful gaze. Something must've happened behind his back. His wife looked at him with a questioning gaze.
This was it.
Killian had lost all hope. There was no way he would lie about such a risky matter in front of his wife.
Heinrich grinned instead. He interlocked his hands behind his back, just above his hips, and slowly walked toward the Princess. The Princess looked up at him as he walked closer to her, stopping to leave just a few inches. He offered his hand to her in front of everybody.
The Princess couldn't help but smile back softly, taking his hand swiftly just as she had decided to put her trust in him. He held her hand firmly and slowly walked her back to where he had been standing.
"Hmm," Heinrich hummed confidently. "She is my mistress. Please be just as respectful to her." He added right away, "And that man is her bodyguard."
Killian looked at Heinrich with surprise, his eyes wide open. Not only was Killian surprised, but the Crown Emperor was also just as astounded. Strangely enough, Teresia had a neutral expression on her face.
"Why were you interested in knowing such a peculiar thing, Your Imperial Highness?" The Holy Empress asked in a bitter tone.
Killian found an opportunity to speak when he saw the Crown Emperor struggling to produce words.
"The Crown Emperor wanted to take Lady Sofia as a concubine." Killian shamelessly said.
"Preposterous!" The Holy Empress stood up, "That is such a disgrace toward the Great Father!"
The Holy Emperor stood up as well, "Great Father, I must apologize for such humiliation. Allow me to rectify the mistake and devise a punishment."
"An apology letter written by the Crown Emperor alone will be enough." The Great Father said, "Your Imperial Majesty, rest assured. I am not offended… Yet."
The Crown Emperor bowed slightly in front of Heinrich, "I shall send the apology letter…" He turned around and walked out of the courtroom quickly.
The Holy Emperor sighed, "My apologies again, the Great Father. I would not have let him commit such atrocious acts had I known his intention!"
"The Great Father, let us treat you and your family to dinner before you leave. It would be optimal if you spent the night here." The Holy Empress suggested.
Heinrich looked at the Princess, "What do you say, darling?" He asked.
The Princess was shocked and confused but things were working for her good. She couldn't complain.
"I think we should listen to Her Imperial Majesty." She said nervously.
"That will be my answer." Heinrich smiled.
