Chapter 169 - Curse

Heinrich slowly walked closer to the dead body. His legs slowly trembled as he stepped forward. Each step felt like a curse, a bad omen, an inauspicious step from an inauspicious immortal who seemed to destroy everybody's fate alongside his. 

When he reached close enough, he fell to his knees. His hands tried contacting the body but in vain. They trembled and trembled until his stomach felt like churning, and he felt like throwing up. 

The lump in his throat kept him from breathing or screaming, and the moist air kept him from crying his heart out. Before he could compose himself, the sound of carts behind him became louder. 

"My lady!" Killian jumped out of the cart and ran toward the body, holding it to see clearly. 

The Princess was covered in blood. Her skin was pale and blue. She was cold. Killian's eyes widened in disbelief. He looked at the lifeless immortal kneeling in front of the Princess.
