Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Awake

She thought, 'He's been poisoned… I've seen this powder before… It's from some type of flower but I can't remember which one… Come on Rosalie you know this… Think…' She put her fingers up to her nose, smelling them as her eyes widened, and she thought, 'That's it… I know it! I have to make him the antidote right away.'

She rushed to her kitchen, putting herbs together in a teacup, boiled a kettle of water, put the hot water into the tea cup with herbs in it, grabbed a spoon out of her kitchen drawer, and rushed over to the man.

She kneeled on the floor next to the couch, holding the teacup and spoon in her hand, placed the spoon into the teacup, and began mixing the water and herbs together, saying, "I hope this works."

She grabbed the man's head, resting it against the armrest of the couch, scooped some tea up in the spoon, and slowly spoon-fed it to the man, smiling as she saw the man subconsciously drink the tea, and she said, "That's it, you'll feel a lot better after you finish all the tea." She continued to slowly feed him until he finished the entire cup of tea and said, "Well that was a lot easier then I thought it was going to be… I know this tea is bitter, so it's not the tastiest but it's going to help you feel a lot better… I hope you can hear me… I hope you know you're safe now."

She placed the teacup on the coffee table and examined his face, seeing his straight nose, pinkish beige bow lips, straight eyebrows, closed hooded eyes, and slightly tanned skin. She touched his messy, short, black hair, feeling the rain water that had soaked his hair as she rolled his hair in her fingers. She touched his face, feeling coldness, and quickly stood up, thinking, 'In all the commotion I forgot he's been out in the rain and I don't know for how long. I should warm him up a bit.'

She went through the closets in her home, grabbing blankets, bringing them to the man, and draped them over him, thinking, 'This isn't going to be enough… I should start a fire… Hopefully it'll keep him warm.'

She went to her kitchen, grabbed firewood, brought it back to the fireplace, put it into the fireplace, got a fire going and sighed, smelling the aroma of burning wood fill the room.

She looked over at the man, feeling relief, thinking, 'I hope he can warm up. Hopefully he'll wake up soon.' She left, going into her bedroom, took a shower, and changed out of her wet clothing into a floor-length, white, peasant style dress.

She walked back into the living room, seeing the man still resting, and sat on the floor next to him, thinking, 'I'll keep a close eye on him tonight and Pray he's alright.' She grabbed his hand and rested the back of her head on the armrest of the couch, slowly falling asleep.

After a couple of hours, warm sun rays shined down on her face, waking her up out of her rest. She opened her eyes and looked at the man, seeing him still sleeping, and thought, 'No change yet but he's still breathing… I'll make him some more… Hopefully this next batch of tea will wake him up.'

She stood up, stretched out her arms, and went to the kitchen, making some more tea. While she made tea, the man slowly opened his eyes. He began quickly moving his eyes, looking around, unable to move his body or speak. His heart started to race, as he thought, 'Where am I and why can't I move? Why can't I speak? I'm trapped in my own body.'

She entered the room, holding a teacup full of tea and a spoon in her hands, heard the man groaning, and rushed over to him, seeing him awake. She placed the teacup on the coffee table and said, "It worked, you're awake."
