Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Meeting His Majesty

The guards looked, seeing Aurelio standing there, and bowed. One of the guards said, "My Lord, we were just about to put this woman to death per your decree." "There was a decree put out by His Majesty himself, saying to spare the woman's life. You're lucky I stopped you because you all would've been killed for hurting her." The guards put away their swords and Aurelio walked over to Rosalie, saying, "I told you never to come back here and you did anyway… Simple woman… Do you not value your life?" "I care for mine but I also care for the man… That is why I'm back," Rosalie mumbled. Aurelio grabbed her arm, brought her up to her feet, and grumbled, "Escort her to a bedchamber and have Adina dress her in the finest silk dress we have. Then have Adina escort her to the Throne Room where she will meet His Majesty…" A guard nodded, saying, "Yes my Lord," and Aurelio looked at Rosalie, saying, "Your life was spared this time but next time don't be so careless with it." He let go of her arm and she said, "The man… Is he okay?" "Don't ask questions, I've already grown tired of you," Aurelio fumed as he clenched his teeth.

A guard said, "Come," and escorted Rosalie into the castle, through the castles white, expensively decorated halls, to a 400 square ft bedchamber.

The Bedchamber had tall ceilings, tall windows, a silver canopy bed that had sheer white curtains, and white bed sheets, wood bedside tables on either side of the bed, a wood wardrobe, and a white vanity that had a mirror. The floors were brown wood, and the color of the wall was soft gray and had an imperial design on them.

She marveled at the beauty of the room as the guard left her, saying, "Lady Adina will be here soon," closing the door behind himself. She walked over to the vanity, setting the coins on it, and thought, 'It's so beautiful, everything is so beautiful.'

She heard a knock on the door and looked over, seeing the door slowly open and  a woman dressed in a blue, puffy sleeved, empire style dress that had a baby blue ribbon on the back enter the room. The woman had dark brown hair tied in a bun and had curled strands hanging around her face. She also had olive colored skin, hazel eyes, bow lips, and light brown freckles. In her hands she held black flats and a silk, empire styled, purple color, floral dress that had short puffed sleeves.

Rosalie bowed and the woman said, "No need to bow to me. I should be bowing to you for the great service you've done for this Kingdom. I am Lady Adina and I'm going to prepare you to see His Majesty." Rosalie marveled at the woman's soft tone voice, thinking to herself, 'The sound of her voice feels as if she's singing a lullaby, it's so gentle and proper. I sound nothing like that and the way she dresses… Her dresses are so beautiful… So darling… Like she's going to a fancy ball… Is this how all the servants dress… How am I fit to meet the king.' Rosalie looked down as shame washed over her. She gripped her dress, letting out a soft sigh, and said, "My name is Rosalie." "Lady Rosalie, such a beautiful name. Let's get you cleaned up for the King," Adina hummed.

Adina cleaned Rosalie up, dressing her in the purple dress and black flats, and sitting her in front of the vanity. Adina brushed out Rosalie's hair, putting it up into a braided bun. "There all done. What do you think," Adina asked. "Beautiful work Lady Adina," Rosalie praised. "I'm glad you like it," Adina beamed.

Knock, knock, knock

"Come in," Adina said. A servant walked into the room seeing Rosalie and Adina and he said, "His Majesty requests to meet My Lady in The Throne Room." "She's all done, I'll take her there now," Adina said. She looked over at Rosalie and asked, "Are you ready to go Lady Rosalie?" Rosalie took a deep breath, grabbing the bronze coins off the table, and answered, "I'm ready." "Oh Lady Rosalie what are the coins for," Adina questioned. "There was a man I met in the forest whom I saved… He was taken from my home by the guards so I've come to buy his freedom," Rosalie sighed. "His freedom my Lady," Adina asked. Rosalie answered, "No one will tell me anything about the man, and I worry for him. I know he belongs at the palace or else the guards wouldn't have come searching but he can't be high up because of what he was wearing, so I figured he must be a servant. I know 4 bronze coins is next to nothing but it's all I have, hopefully the King will grant me this one request." "I see, well I'm sure when you meet the King he will certainly grant you your request," Adina comforted.

Adina left the room as Rosalie followed behind her. They walked, only hearing the tapping of their footsteps echo in the exquisite castle hallways.

Adina stood in front of a silver door and knocked on it, hearing Grayson say, "Come in," Adina and Rosalie entered the Throne Room, seeing Grayson standing there wearing an all blue suit, gold crown, and black shoes, with his back facing them.

The Throne Room had tall white ceilings that had crystal chandeliers hanging from it, light blue walls that had gold designs on them, a gold and white Throne sitting on top of a platform that had steps leading up to it, white columns that had golden details on them, and stained glass windows.

Rosalie and Adina bowed and Grayson put up his hand waving Adina to leave. Adina left the room, closing the door behind her. Rosalie kneeled on the ground, looking down on the floor, and said, "Your Majesty, I know you do not know me and owe me nothing… I do not know why you have requested to see me other than it being because I saved a man who belongs to your palace. Nobody will tell me anything of his being and I've Prayed that he would be alright. From the looks of it I believe that he may be a servant and if he be a servant because of debt I ask that you allow me to buy his freedom… I have no more than 4 bronze coins… I know it's not much but I am also willing to take his place as a servant of the castle. Would you please grant my request?"

Grayson's footsteps echoed through the now silent room as he turned around and walked up to Rosalie. Rosalie focused her eyes on his shoes, thinking, 'Please, please grant me my request.' She gripped her dress as her body began to tremble. "My name is King Grayson and since you feel so strongly for this man that you are willing to give all that you have just for his freedom as your king I will grant you your request," Grayson said with a warmness in his voice.

"Thank you, oh thank you, Your Majesty," Rosalie beamed. She looked up while saying, "Thank you Your MajSTEEEEeeEEeeeEETY. I-Its you." He grabbed her hands, helping her off the floor, smirking at her. "That's no fair I thought you were a servant," Rosalie huffed. "And you were willing to give everything. Now as you promised you'll be staying in the castle, this will now be your new home," Grayson hummed, kissing Rosalie's hand as her face turned red.
