In the skys of Imperial Domain 14 figures could be seen flying above the Rising Phoenix Manor arrogantly.
They stood in the sky with their hand behind their back whiles looking down on all the people below the manor like they were dead men walking.
The noble and aristocratic families who saw the scene couldn't help but look on with joy.
The nigmare that has been bothering them for so long was about to end.
They laughed and hugged each other in tears of joy. They had never imagined a day will come where they would be happy to see the Moonshade Sect enter the domain without permission.
But they didn't really give a damn about it, the Moonshade Sect was here to rescue them from that tyrant.
The commoners watched on with worry and fear. Were their peaceful days going to come to an end? Where they going to be suppressed by the nobility again?
This few days, they've had peace, the government systems has began functioning well for the first time.
There were no nobles trying to con them or be injust to them, because they were
all afraid the hoves of the dragon horses of the purple Qilin Cavalry might trample on their manors.
For the first time in like never, they woke up without having to fear being a punching bag for the nobility, but it seems it was short-lived.
They signed as they looked up to the sky with worry and confusion.
In the imperial palace, the emperor looked to the sky with complicated emotions.
Gu Shang was able to accomplish what he couldn't do in his seven years as emperor, that is bringing down the powers of the aristocratic families, but Gu Shang did it in less than a day.
He hated and admired Gu Shang courage, but he didn't want it to end like this for him.
It was such a shame
"Sigh.. you brought this on yourself, you have nobody to blame but yourself.
If you had remained humble and hadn't taken it too far, maybe things would have been different.
Imperial secretary, prepare an explanation. I have a feeling they won't stop with just Gu Shang's death today"
In the Spring Autumn restaurant, a beautiful woman with graceful figure could be seen starring at the skies.
Her face was fully covered, but her eyes alone were enough to enchant any man.
"What surprise are you going to show us today? Or have your luck run out?" She said in a sweet voice as she continued to stare in the sky.
In the capital guards command center, Liu Feifei held her heart as she saw what was going on.
She tried to go and get her horse, but was stopped by her subordinates.
"You can't go commander, it is already over!
You'll never get there in time, it's better to live and fight another day" They blocked her path and prevented her from leaving.
In the Gu Clan manor, there were some celebrating whiles others kept mute.
Gu Lin sneered, "So what if you are the prince of the north, in the end you'll still die and be humiliated by the Moonshade Sect.
Let's see how arrogant you can get"
Qing Ying watched the scene with an expressionless face, no one could really tell what she was thinking.
The elders who had planned to kill Gu Shang on their first meeting were thrilled.
"The other day weren't you so arrogant and awe inspiring?
What happened now?" They mocked.
"I guess we didn't have to wait for the clan leader to come before we deal with him. That boy has perfectly measured himself and digged a hole to die in.
He knew the Moonshade Sect heir identity but still beheaded him, He brought this upon himself!" The current acting leader said disdainfully.
Qing Ying kept her mouth shut. The little she knew about Gu Shang was that, he was unfathomable.
She didn't think it was going to be that easy.
Everyone across the capital had come to the same conclusion, which was that Gu Shang was a dead man.
There was no way he could escape today, only death awaited him.
It was indeed a shame.
...
Rising Phoenix Manor
Gu Shang study was located in one of the pagoda's in the manor.
It was a five story pagoda and Gu Shang stood on the top floor.
Gu Shang stepped out into the little open space balcony on the floor with his hand behind his back.
His silver hair danced in the wind as it flowed behind his back like a waterfall.
"How would you like to die?" The leading supreme elder asked.
"Tch" Gu Shang chuckled, " How I'll like to die isn't my main concern.
My main concern is why are you guys still standing above my manor, where are your manners.
You stand before the Grand General of this empire, yet you show no respect or courtesy"
The second supreme elder sneered, was this guy going retarded because death was at his door step?
"Kneel? Are you even worthy?
"Whether I'm worthy or not doesn't matter. The Moonshade Sect is still on the territory of the immortal empire, whenever a sect form under an empire, the sect swears allegence to empire and so did the Moonshade Sect.
I'm the Grand General of the empire, that means I'm an imperial, but you refuse to show courtesy.
Is the Moonshade Sect planning to rebel? Gu Shang asked with a sneer.
The four supreme elders almost spat out blood.
Gu Shang word were the truth, though the sect is now stronger than the empire, it still own its allegence to the empire.
They just ignored it and pretended it didn't exist.
They felt it was humilliating to be under the Immortal empire.
"So what if we are rebelling?" The third Supreme elder said disdainfully.
Gu Shang lips curved into a sneer when he heard that.
This was his plan all along, this was were he was leading them to, a justification!
He needed justification to carry out his plans.
"Hoho, That means the Moonshade sect has decided to rebel against the empire, I as the Grand General will crush this rebellion in it's infancy"
The moment Gu Shang words ended, he disappeared from where he stood amd appeared directly Infront of the leader of the group.
He grabbed the leaders neck and snapped it, ending his life.
"Rebels are supposed to be killed!" Gu Shang said coldly.
"You!!!!!!" The three supreme elders formed a formation around Gu Shang and took out their weapons.
Gu Shang hooked his finger at them and signalled them to make the first move.
They didn't even wait before they sent powerful beams of light towards Gu Shang.
This was a long range attack.
Gu Shang didn't move as the light beams approach him. He stood there proudly as he glanced at the attack disdainfully.
When the attack was within eight meters of range around Gu Shang, the light beams disappeared without leaving a trace.
This shocked the three supreme elders.
What happened?
But they didn't have time to think about it, Gu Shang disappeared again and appeared in the mist of the other 10 Supreme Sovereigns.
They reacted quickly and took out their weapons to defend themselves.
Gu Shang took advantage of this and snatched a sword from one of the Sovereign before punching him.
The sovereign fell to the ground after receiving the punch, his internal organs were never going to recover from this.
After sizing the sword, He took a leap back as the group reorganized themselves.
Gu Shang was too strong.
"Let's end this shall we?"
Sword of judgement, first move phantom shadow. The moment Gu Shang said that he disappeared again and appeared behind the group of people.
"How did he..g" one of the men wanted to ask but felt a strange feeling around his neck.
Gu Shang glanced at the tips of his sword and muttered, "flawless" there was no blood on it.
The moment he finished saying that, nine headless bodies fell from the sky with blood spraying everywhere.
They were the definition of 'didn't know how they died' they might wake up in the afterlife confused.
The three remaining Supreme elder trembled.
"Mon...mo.... monster, you're a monster!!" They exclaimed in fear.
They truly felt fear from the core of their hearts, the previous arrogance had already disappeared. It was now replaced with pure fear.
Killing nine supreme sovereign in a single move was unheard of? If someone had said this to them, they would have beaten the person to death.
Even an Immortal King can't do that.
Their lives where in danger.
"Run!!!!!"
The three elders took off in different directions.
Gu Shang smiled and simply muttered.
"Second move, hidden strings of death" the moment his voice echoed out.
All the three elders fell from the sky dead, their bodies were cut into little piece almost as if sharp hidden strings had done it and it was indeed so.
Golden strings which had surrounded the whole area like a spider web, reflected for a few breathes before disappearing.
Gu Shang stood in the sky with the borrowed sword in his hands, his robes danced in the winds as he glanced at the bloody mess below him expressionlessly.
Silence.
The entire Imperial Domain became as silent as a cemetery, you could even here a pin drop.
