"What are you looking at?" I asked, glaring at Saku. His eyes were on my abdomen.
"You're so scrawny, not to mention very short," Saku said, laughing when he said that last bit. "You should eat more!"
I threw my dirty shirt at his face. "Shut up! Tsk, you're just like my sister..."
Saku moved the shirt away from his face and threw it into a laundry basket to the left of his bed. He smirked. "That's not a bad thing, to be similar to your sister."
I rolled my eyes. Everyone always seemed to be so infatuated with her... even my parents loved her more than me.
Lowering my head, I walked into the shower-room. It was incredibly small. I guessed that it was around seven by four feet, if one did not count the indent for the shower itself.
I removed my remaining clothes and threw them to a laundry basket.
"Hey, Suoh... Ah, you're not in yet?"
I ran inside of the shower and hide behind the shower curtain. "Don't you know how to knock?"
He tilted his head and blinked. "Sorry? Well, now that I'm here, here's a bar of soap. I just remembered that I used up the previous one."
"Are you going to take a shower after me?" I asked, blinking.
"Nah, I got work left to do! I left ya a fresh set of clothes on my bed. Feel free to wash them, by hand."
"Wah?"
He laughed. "We got no laundry machine. We do all our laundry by the river!"
My nose wrinkled at the mere thought of washing my clothes where fish, people, and other animals did their business. "Isn't that filthy?"
He shrugged. "Maybe to you, Mr. Fancy pants. Well, I'm off!" He slammed the door closed.
I lathered the soap over my body as warm water helped wash away some of the stink.
At least I didn't need to bathe outside. That would've been awful.
Once I was done I reached out for my towel... except that I didn't have one. I tipped into the bedroom, making sure that Saku wasn't around.
I sighed. 'Why do I feel self-conscious? We are both guys.'
I shrugged and grabbed the clothes on the bed. They smelled like lavender...
"Little bro... Wah!"
I stepped back. In the door was a girl.
I reached for the pillow and threw it at her. "Pervert!"
She blocked the pillow. "You're the pervert! Why are you here naked and in my brother's room... wait... don't tell me that you're Saku's...."
I stepped back. "Get out, now!"
She smiled. "I didn't know that Saku went that way but at least he picked a cute one."
My face turned bright red. "Don't call me cute!"
She winked. "You might be short in height but you're not short where it matters."
I gulped as I covered myself with the shirt I was holding. "F-freaking pervert!"
She giggled and walked away.
Once she was gone, I hurriedly put on my clothes. Never before had I felt so violated... Saku's sister was... she was checking out my... I slumped to the floor and sighed.
"Suoh!" Saku yelled, barging in. "My sister she..."
I rose up and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "Tell your sister to quit being such a shotacon! I don't like girls like her!"
He gave me that idiot grin of his and again I felt warm. "Why not? You're both feisty, plus my sister isn't bad in the eyes. Most of the man around our age and even some old dudes have tried to covet her."
Sighing, I let go of him. "She's not attractive at all. You're better looking than her and you're a guy!"
Suoh's face flushed a little. "You really think so? Think that your sister would be interested?"
I slapped him in the arm to wipe away that stupid smile of his. "Nope! She would never date a country bumpkin like you and neither would I. I-I mean I would never date a country bumpkin!"
He nodded. "Don't worry, I get you. Still." He grinned. "Maybe I'll be the exception!"
Shaking my head, I said, "You're too optimistic for your own good."
The guy simply laughed. "And you're too pessimistic."
I crossed my arms. "I am a realist, not a pessimist!"
"Hey little bro," the perverted girl said as we were about to leave. She smiled at me. "Taking your boyfriend on a date?"
Saku covered his mouth, holding back a chuckle. "This..." He couldn't hold it in. "guy isn't my boyfriend. One of the neighbor's bulls chased him into our side and he fell into a pile of dung."
Her eyes lit up. "Ah, so he's available!"
"Sis, the kid is probably fourteen and you're seventeen," Saku said, shaking his head.
"That's only three years! Not like I'm an a cougar. At a certain point, age, class, and gender don't matter in the eyes of love!"
"This world... isn't that simple," I said to myself, shaking my head. "Love has its boundaries."
"Hmm, true. But what exactly are those?"
I stared at her and blinked. What were those boundaries, though?

[Present]
"The operation was a success," said one of the doctors.
I took that as my cue to unbind the amethyst-eyed boy.
"Who... are you?" the boy asked, staring at me.
"I'm Saku Opal and you are?" I said as I cut more of the wires off.
"M....Purpura. I'm Purpura Amethyst, or at least that's what I thought I was called." He stared blankly at the ceiling.
"Come with me," I said. I scanned him up and down. "You know, you kind of look like Suoh..."
He stood up from the table once the cuffs tying him to the table were removed. "I wonder if that's because I'm his son..."
'Did Suoh use his own DNA for the sake of creating this child?'
"Whoever your father might be, you're welcome to..." I began to say, when the ceiling suddenly collapsed.
I covered the boy with my arms and looked up. A white angel unfolded its wings and looked directly at the boy. "The youth must be destroyed!"
I raised my katana at the angel. "I understand why you say that. Suoh should never should have messed with nature the way he did, but this child is innocent!"
"Father!" Sehun yelled. He ran over to me and saw the tired Purpura. "What happened here?"
"Sehun? How did you get here?"
"I knocked some guards out. I felt a voice calling me here. That of the guy you're helping stand."
"I'll explain later, take this child and flee! Protect him with your life!"
My boy nodded and warped away.
"No matter where he goes, we will find him," the angel said as it flew away from me. "That tainted child must die to bring back order to this world."
"Mora isn't going to destroy the world!" Kaname said, standing up from the floor. "According to my father, Mora shall lead to the creation of the Chosen of the Amethyst!"
The angel ignored her and continued to fly higher.
I side-glanced Kaname. "Tell me all that you know about your father's experiment."
Kaname grinned before she vanished.
"Tsk. I should've seen that one coming." I warped out of the room while Suoh's co-conspirators looked around in shock at having seen an angel.

[An hour later]
"Sehun," I said as I saw him standing on the sidewalk, staring at the sky as if waiting for something.
I wanted to know why he had left in such a hurry. Although, I didn't think I would see him here. I'd planned to ask Shika instead.
I glanced over at the house next to his, surrounding it were several members of the National Police Agency. "What happened here? Is this why you had to leave?"
Sehun signaled for us to follow him. Sayuri, Kai, Ava, and I followed him. The girls and I had bumped into Kai on the way back. It seemed his sister's operation had gone well.
Sayuri came to a stop in front of the door and started coughing.
"Are you feeling well?" Kai asked. "Weren't you supposed to be home, recovering from your cold?"
Sayuri smiled weakly. "I promised Ava that we would go on a date today."
I looked up and saw Sehun freeze up.
"You should perhaps go back home and recover. Actually, all of you should." He smiled at me. "I probably can't even tell you about what happened. Not yet, anyway. Just know that it's being resolved." He turned around and closed the door on us.
"What's wrong with Sehun?" Kai asked, blinking. "He seems exhausted."
I looked around. "I don't know but I intend to find out..."
Suddenly, an angel-like being appeared in the sky, its eyes were locked on Sehun's house. Was the angel what Sehun was looking out for?
"An angel?" Ava exclaimed.
Kai gulped. "I saw that thing when I was leaving the hospital. It was flying toward the top of the building for some reason."
"I saw something like it near the market too, but what is it doing here?" I asked, staring at its massive wings.
"To destroy the tainted child," Sayuri muttered, her eyes dull.
"What?" Ava asked, looking at her.
Tainted child? Did she mean Sehun? Or was it someone else? Hopefully, she meant someone else. Sehun was as clean as could be, for the most part. If anyone was tainted here, it was me.
