She carefully examined the mugwort she had harvested. She separated the tiny flowers and then did the same with the lavender, thyme, and cloves. She placed them all in the first sachet and then placed that one inside a small blue velvet sachet. She decided it was best to get the grounding potion down since her ingredients were prepared. She found some salt on one of the shelves and portioned it out onto a piece of paper. The kettle had begun to whistle and she combined the bay laurel powder, acorn grounds, and salt into the cauldron. She covered them with the boiling water and placed it on the arm in the hearth. She channeled her water magic to combine the ingredients. It did not take long for the mixture to condense into a paste. She scraped the contents into the tin to cool and cleaned out the cauldron. Now she was ready to see what other potion she might be able to make today. Evelyn opened up the potions book again and started to read.
