Chapter 26 - The Party

" Zion Sheng. Newbie hunter. I will be using my gun, and I may be best suited for tracking and command. " he said, showing them the pea shooter.

" Help yourself to any supplies from here, to be used in the mansion. We will be setting off with the lightest supplies. " Zion added.

Matt immediately went to the spears, pole arms, and the whipping sticks, while the rest took fancy to the bamboo basket backpacks he made.

Bow Saintess took a short recurve bow, while Lila opted for a super long and sturdy long range bow, along with the arrows.

Edward took the normal bow testing its draw with impressed eyes. Even James took the backpack, bamboo whip and the whipping sticks.

He immediately put a blessing on one of the bamboo whipping sticks, and whipped it around in the air, his eyes full of calculation.

The cane rushed through the air with a ' surrrurruurrrrrrrrrr' renting the air into two , leaving a thin film of green gold sparkles in its wake.

" Will you be selling these in future ? " James asked, his eyes lighting up at the effect.

" Perhaps … " Zion answered nonchalantly.

" This rope is quite good and well made. Are you going to sell this too ? " Matt asked eagerly.

" Will these be for the guild only ? " Lila mused, examining an arrow.

" First, we have to make sure that the guild is established without any risks. Let's go and clear the vampire mansion. " Zion answered.

" Roger, Guild master ! " All of them replied in unison, happily slinging the bamboo backpacks.

🟆✧✦

The vampire mansion is a mansion which was built in a sloping valley in the west. In the morning, as the sun rises from the east, the shadow of the mountain will cover the mansion, leaving it without sunlight.

In the evening, the shadow of the high rises and the bride that passes in front of the mansion will cover the mansion, covering sunlight.

So, they have a three hour window, from eleven thirty to two thirty in the day, when the vampire mansion will have a wee bit of the sunlight, increasing their chances to clear the mansion with least risk.

'Creek '

The iron doors creaked as they entered the mansion.

Everyone but Zion and James shivered with the cold. It was not even cold, it was just the aura of the place.

The plants looked withered and lifeless, yet sturdy and full of thorns.

Zion used a little wind magic to remove the leaves from their path, leading them to the door.

They turned the knob, entered the house.

Right away, they entered a foyer, which was horizontal, about two stories high with red velvet wallpapering. From the ceiling two chandeliers hung. Their glass casings are all ashy, smokey, making one wonder if they were black from the beginning or they were just clear glass covered in soot till they turned pure black.

The ceiling is made of walnut wood.

The moment they stepped into the door, the chandeliers creaked eerily.

Zion shot sword mana at the chandelier chain, breaking it cleanly. During the fall, he stopped the fall with the smallest air tornado, underneath the chandelier.

He repeated the process for both chandeliers.

There was only a small ' pfft ' sound from the gun.

After that, he shot a spore into any and every hole in the room, then shot the spore with a berserk bullet.

Immediately, most of the vents of the room were blocked.

He simply placed two slime mushrooms which had super fat stems, but almost next to nothing like tops at the gigantic wooden door, opened the doors, then hit them with a berserk.

Immediately, mushrooms grew, leaving only a man sized hole in the door.

Then Zion threw a beer bottle with a lighted up fabric into the hole, waiting for the explosion.

' Boom ' The sound was more deafening in the close quarters.

" Get ready for combat. " Zion ordered, removing his backpack, placing it in front of him.

" Use the whipping canes first, Arrows later, and last should be the ammunition bought by yourselves. " he added.

'Tuptutptutptutptptuptup '

The beating of wings got louder and louder, they propped up the guns and waited for the bats to come through.

Zion concentrated his all, fine tuning his very being to react the fastest, to shoot the most accurate bullet.

Time slowed down around him.

His perception increased to thousand frames per second, hundred times faster than a human.

For now, he was using the most accurate petrified spores.

They hit with full force, dropping a bat with every shot.

The moment they did, another bullet rose up in the air, replacing the fired bullet and resetting the spring on the gun.

While the others killed fifty bats, Zion alone fell a thousand, covering all the gaps created by his teammates.

The others, who did not expect an 'F' class newbie hunter to be better than him, looked at him with shock.

" My basics are solid. " Zion said by way of explanation.

They all nodded and double checked their equipment.

While it is extremely rare, cases like Zion where an 'F' class hunter being better than higher ranked do exist. Just not to this magnitude of Zion. At the moment, given the bats are too easy to kill, and their perception being leagues below Zion, they all assumed Zion was slightly better than them. They never thought he would be in a class of his own.

After that, they entered the room. As all the annoying pests died, they could fight with some peace of mind.

Some of the bat carcasses were absorbed by the dungeon, while the rest were completely absorbed by the mushrooms.

Soon, the mushrooms changed shape, becoming blood red, with small tendrils all over them.

Zion pulled back his teammates, threw in one more molotov inside the room.

This time, they need not even stop the bat rain. The mushrooms grew too big, and the bats were all caught within the tendrils, and digested away by the mushrooms.

" Third time's the charm " Zion said as he threw a third molotov inside the room, covering the last corner.

The bats were once more absorbed by the vampire mushrooms.

After that , Zion gestured to Matt, who carefully used a polearm to cut through the base of the mushroom.

He brought the mushroom out into the sun.

As soon as sunlight touched the mutated shroom, it withered away, leaving a single black spore.

The same happened to the other shroom, leaving Zion with two vampire mushroom spores.

Now that the hall is clean, the team walked in unobstructed.

As Zion has predicted, the vampires were in sleep. The doors to each room were destroyed, taking away the blood sucking bats, but their masters remained asleep.

They made proper arrangements before pulling the door of a coffin.

Two blessed canes were tied in a crisscross pattern on the upper half side of the coffin.

After that, rings are attached to the coffin by suction cups. A rope was threaded through rings, which was pulled to open the coffin half way.

Then James, who was waiting with a blessed spear, will spear the vampire straight in the heart.

A small empty pot-like container rose from each vampire.

Zion looked at his party members, none of whom were looking at the container.

" Guys, you do not see any drops from the vampire ? " he asked them.

All of them looked at him and shook their heads.

James explained on top of that.

" As half bloods, we carry some of the traits of our ancestors. Thus, some times, we happen to see the drops that only our race can see or obtain. These are bloodline drops. Unless there's a competing person who can see the drops, or a special request to collect these drops, they belong to whoever finds it, even if they did not participate in the battle. At least, this is the norm among dungeon born. "

" Ah. Thank you. Hey, you should consider publishing this as an article in the guild. Perhaps we should keep a forum dedicated to such 'everyone knows' rules. " Zion mused.

" Ha ! as expected of the guild master ! " Matt flattered, with a thumbs up and a wink.

The others giggled at Matt's exaggerated manners, then they moved on to the next floor, repeating the killing.

Just as they entered the last room, Zion felt different.

There's something ominous in this room, unlike all that they have seen thus far.

" Duck ! " Zion screamed, extending bamboo whips from his two hands. He was in the air before the first person could even Duck.

He flicked his wrists at sonic speed, his bamboo whips rattling and twisting against the blood red ropes of leather.

The bamboo chips locked just right against the thorns in between the leather cords, making the whips on both sides useless.

Only, The physical force on the leather whip side was so heavy, Zion was launched into the air like a kite at the end of the thread.

However, his vision, his reaction speed and dexterity are all faster than this person.

As such, from the air, he shot a dozen times, towards the creature holding the whip.

The bullets ricochet. The skin of the creature is too hard for the bullets to penetrate.
