Chapter 11 - Chapter 10: I need to put her in her place

"Three years ago." They gasped.

"That's the same time Flora died." Layla whispered to Anisa and May poked her with her stick, telling her to shut up.

"What's wrong?" Ivy asked noticing the tension among them.

"Nothing dearie. Just eat, you need enough strength to get well." Nanny Feng encouraged and Ivy nodded, giving way to a smile and ate her food quietly while the others went out to discuss.

"She's got to be Flora." Anisa raised the topic once away from prying ears.

"Wow, now you figure?" May rolled her eyes, seeing it as nothing new at all.

"The fact that she always goes to the balcony, the resemblance, the attitude and character, the scar on her thighs gotten from the gunshot those years ago and then this, she knew herself to be Ivy three years ago. That was the same time Flora died." Layla rushed the words so fast that when she was down, she breathed really heavily.

"Learn some manners, Layla." May said strictly and she covered her mouth.

"If she really is Flora then how did she escape death?" Nanny Feng asked.

"Maybe she met with Hades and exchanged her memory for her life." May said and laughed but the others didn't see it as something to laugh over.

"Flora was an angel…I'm her own way." They all nodded. "Anyway, there was no way she would've met up with Hades and returned sane. That's impossible." Clover stated.

"Do you have a better story?" May asked, pointing her stick at her.

"If only her aunt was alive. We would've made her talk." Clover hit her fist against her palm indicating violence.

"Since she's dead," Anisa slowly lowered Clover's fist and palm, "... we can only hope on her memory recovery." She added.

"Should we tell the boss?" Layla asked in a bit of a scared way.

"I disagree."Nanny Feng said after a moment of silence. "It's best to let him be at the moment. He has the mindset that Ivy is Flora and wouldn't think twice of his actions towards her if he finds out about all these similarities." She explained.

"So we just let him find out?" May asked, seeing it as boring.

"Yes. Time will help her regain her memory as long as she stays in this house and time will also tell if the feelings he has for Flora rub all over Ivy." Nanny Feng stated.

"Then someone needs to get the boss the right idea. He might end up doing something he'll regret later." Layla suggested.

"You're right. Finally, something really sensible comes from you." May said not meaning to sound cruel but honest. But her honesty always hurt.

"Meanie!" Layla tuck out her tongue at May.

"You dare to tuck out your tongue at me?" May placed her hand at the edge of the stick, attentpting to pull 'it' out but Nanny Feng stopped her.

"Time like this, isn't the right time. Learn to control yourself and Layla, try not to act too young." Nanny Feng said to both of them who resolved with their eyes and shook hands in reconciliation.

"Sorry." Layla apologized.

"Good." May said, indicating she was sorry. She never used the word sorry as she wasn't taught to feel apologetic. It was when she came to know them that she had signs of sympathy.

"Everyone to their duty post." Nanny Feng ordered and they all departed except for May who stayed with her.

Damian took a glass of alcohol. He sat on his chair with a lot of thoughts running through his head about Flora who now posed to be Ivy.

"This foolish girl actually regretted my help. Who does she think she is?" He asked, feeling angry at her. "She even pushed me away. I think it's high time I put her in her place." He concluded with a nod and went to his study room. There he kept his journal and didn't let anyone go in.

He sat on his chair and read the last thing he wrote. He had last written in the previous week. Now that he had something interesting to put down, he started scribbling with his pen. He had up to 5 journals already but still didn't think of stopping. It was a habit of his and likely his second habit. (His first will be revealed along the line.)

Ivy felt tired. She couldn't sleeping since she had already been unconscious for over 3 days. She walked out to the balcony and rested her chin on her hands that already had their support from her elbows on the bars. She gave out a wearing sigh.

"Such is life." She stated staring at the blank sky. It held no stars or moon but held a very significant meaning. "Such is life!" She remarked again, but this time comparing the blank sky to her life, stating there was really not much in her life.

The guards had already set out to patrol the surrounding holding their flashlights in the company of dogs. There was total serenity, it was very quiet, that one would mistake it for a graveyard.

Ivy surveyed the area, the surrounding of the mansion occupied a large mass of space that one could hardly tell if it was a house or a hotel.

The garden alone took a lot of space, not to talk of the maze. At the thought of the maze, Ivy felt goosebumps. It was a bit scary especially on the part of the grave stone. Who's was it?

"The night is cold and so is me. I'm nothing now, the life I know, I wanna get it totally ruined." She said and rubbed her arms slowly as a drop of tears trinckled down her cheek and it fell, down.
