Chapter 48 - Buying off the land with the amazing Power of Wealth!

As soon as Maxmillan did that, the middle-aged man looked at him and asked with great shock in his face, "Who are you? And where did you get these from?"

"Where I got these from is not important. Because there are many more where it came from. You see that man standing over there, I owe him a huge favor which I am here to return. And yea, to answer your first question, I am from another city. I am not from around here." Maxmillan said as he gazed into the middle-aged man's eyes.

"O-Okay. B-But, you have put me in a difficult situation. Aii." The middle-aged man said and heavily sighed.

"How so?" Maxmillan asked.

"Didn't that man explain to you?" The middle-aged man asked as he looked at Taryell and shook his head.

"Oh. But why don't you explain to me? It will be better to hear directly from you." Maxmillan said seriously.

"Alright then." The middle-aged man said.

He then continued, "First of all, to introduce myself, I am Edgar Blackwood. The chief of this organization that is in charge of selling and renting lands to inhabitants of the city."

"Hmm. Nice meeting you, Sir Blackwood. I am Maxwell Thornfrost, from Ahodiah city. I am a multiple-times award-winning magical gladiator and prizefighter." Maxmillan said, while Taryell who was listening to their conversation, couldn't help but roll his eyes at Maxmillan.

"No wonder you are so fast and strong. I guess your strengths must lie in strength-increasing spells and speed-boosting spells in order to finish battles very quickly, right?" Edgar asked with a light of intense curiosity shining in his eyes.

"Maybe." Maxmillan replied.

"Hmm." Edgar muttered.

He then said further, "To be honest, this is a really difficult situation. I don't want to involve myself between two..."

Edgar couldn't finish his speech when a small pouch containing silver coins, appeared in Maxmillan's right hand and was thrown to the ground before him.

"What say you now?" Maxmillan asked with great seriousness in his face.

"Wow. Silver coins? You must come from a really powerful establishment." Edgar said with great astonishment in his face, since only Astra Spellcraft Lords could spend silver coins.

Maxmillan only looked at him and said nothing.

"Alright then. I have made up my mind. The land will go back to him." Edgar said, pointing at Taryell.

"It will go back to him and no one else. Other than him, no one else is allowed to enter the land that he now fully owns." Maxmillan said with a loud serous voice.

"Yes. Yes. I can assure you of that." Edgar said positively while Maxmillan nodded his head.

"So, the certificate of land ownership in the previous buyer's hand, what are you going to do about it? Are you going to press some buttons that will cause it to instantly destroy before making a new one for us?" Maxmillan asked with a gravely serious look in his face.

"I will prepare a new one, which will absolutely nullify the one in the hand of the previous buyer. Once all that is done, I will immediately hand it over to you." Edgar said while Maxmillan nodded his head.

"Good." He said.

"So, gentlemen, please follow me. Let me take you to my office where I will prepare and issue the land ownership certificate to you."

"Also, the one I will prepare for you, is one that can't be nullified, as it has the City Government's stamp of nullification cancelation on it, which means that it absolutely can't be nullified till the end of time."

"Actually, we only give this to highly paramount buyers that are most willing to spend silver coins to purchase lands. Other than that, from the pouch that you dropped which contained copper coins, I could easily infer from a certain outlook that it possesses three times the amount of money that was given by the previous buyer for the purchase of the land." Edgar said excitedly and walked out of the garden, before entering a wide, ceramic-tiled path that will lead to his office in the distance.

Maxmillan directly followed behind him before being followed by Taryell who appeared directly behind him.

At the moment, his heart was seething with extreme joy. He couldn't believe how his non-magical son was able to accomplish all these.

But what brought the happiest smiles to his face, was that his son had grown into a fine and powerful young man that seemed fully ready to take on the entire storms of the world all by himself, and also that his land will be returned to him and would be given the irreversible title of land owner that had the ability to sell small to large portions of as he deemed fit. Only he would have full authority over the land and make any decision that he liked over the land, without decisional interferences from anyone else, including the Government. He just couldn't restrict himself from not smiling ecstatically.

'How amazing. My son that always suffered from ailment since he was born, has now grown into an amazing young man. I am exceedingly happy at this development." Taryell said as he walked with pride behind Maxmillan.

'But I wonder where this boy got such amount of money from. Including silver coins, a wealth-class trade coin that can only be found in the hands of Astra Spellcraft Lords. Well, as long as he isn't into shady things, then I am perfectly fine with it." Taryell said further within himself.

Not long, they appeared in the man's massive office who asked them to seat as he prepared the nigh-indestructible, silver-framed, government-stamped certificate of permanent land ownership for them.

Once he was done with everything, with Taryell's entire name correctly and boldly written on it, Maxmillan collected the certificate of land ownership from Edgar and looked through it very well.

Satisfied with it, he stood to his feet and mentioned his thanks to Edgar, before unexpectedly producing another pouch that also contained silver coins which he dropped on the table in front of a tremendously shocked Edgar who tried very hard to contain the explosively bubbling excitement within him and maintain composure.

"Sir Blackwood, please take this as a gift from me for your quick decisiveness." Maxmillan said with a smile in his face.

He then said further, "We will take our leave now."

Edgar nodded his head and immediately said, "Sir Maxwell, I know that you are a busy man, since you would have lots of hugely betted magical matches that appeal to Astra Spellcraft Lords over there to fight in. But please, anytime you are in this grandiose and marvelously beautiful city of ours, you can come to my office to receive a really grand treatment from me. I promise to treat you very well."

"Alright. I will definitely visit your organization anytime I come to Shining Lake City in the future for settlement of one or two things." Maxmillan said and headed for the door, before being followed behind by Taryell who produced a tremendously delighted smile in his face.

Once they had left the office and appeared outside the organization, just before the massive gate into the organization's enormous premises, Maxmillan passed the certificate to Taryell and said, "Sir Taryell, congrats on re-obtaining your rented land that was forcefully taken from you. And congrats on being its new permanent owner."

Taryell who was surprised and decided to play along, instead of asking questions at the behavior Maxmillan was suddenly exhibiting, said with a radiant appreciative smile in his face, "Sir Maxwell, I sincerely can't you thank you enough for this immense favour that you have rendered to me. I will keep thanking you till the end of my life, because I just don't know how I will ever repay you."

"It's okay." Maxmillan said.

He then said further, "You can go back home to celebrate with your family. I still have other things to do in this region. See you when next I come around in the future. Have and live a blessed life of bountifulness."

"You too, my benefactor." Taryell said and stowed away the certificate before leaving Maxmillan's presence, who then left in another direction.
