"Surprise?" I pry. He's still looking at me and there's a grin on his face. Chances are that he's serious or he could be joking.
But for heaven's sake.
If it's a surprise, why the hell couldn't he wait for morning.
Or is he that impatient?
He had to make me drag myself from my apartment thinking that there was a huge emergency. I even had lots of questions loading my brain only to arrive here and now I'm being told it's a surprise. Well, what kind of surprise?
Wait, maybe I'm focusing on the wrong issue . Me hurrying out of my apartment, well that has already happened and it's irreversible.
So why is David so interested in surprising me? What is this surprise that made him go through all this trouble at this time of the night?
"I'm serious David," I tell him, "what is this that made you have to go through all this trouble?"
