I chase him all the way from the streets to the forest and that's where I lose him, but only for the moment. He's deeply hurt, leg oozing with blood, it won't be long till I find him.
I clutch the hilt of my knife tightly, this time I won't miss. The forest is quiet, safe for crickets chirping and owls hooting off a distance. I hone in on every sound.
A twig snaps at my 2 0'clock and I'm sharp to approach the hulking tree. Hearing me coming, the man takes off running, sorry did I say running, I meant stumbling, hopping, limping. It's sad, really.
I don't even put in much energy but still catch him at the end of the day, yanking his jacket back. He crashes butt-first to the ground, whimpering helplessly. What a piece of chump.
Seriously, it's no fun killing this homeless freak but I've gotta throw the suspicion off me. Just in case.
" W-what do you want from me? "
I scrunch at his soot-covered skin. " Trust me, pal. Nothing more than your death. " And I dig the knife in his abdomen.
It's my signature kill, you know why? Coz a wolf eats the abdomen of it's victim first before any area, thus eliminating the possibility of sighting a knife wound. Then I let an actual wolf devour the body. It's why I don't let them die completely.
Evil! I know.
His scream dies down to a groan and I cut a piece of his hair, placing it in a ziplock bag.
" Rest in peace, amigo. "
