Not that I was planning on staying until then. Luckily, it seems I was out for a while, and it is still early. I need to get to school in order to save Jen. If I leave now, I can get there by lunchtime. The fight would not be until after school, around four, so if I leave now, I can prepare everything.
With the change of clothes, my mother seemed to have taken from home, I switched out of the hospital gown and put them on. Right after I exited the room and took three steps, a shout came from behind me. "Ai! Where are you going!? Get back into the room! We need to check your eyes."
It was my mother, but sadly, I could not stick around. I turned, smiled, waved, and said, "Sorry, I need to go to school!" And with that, I took off running. I mean, who was going to stop me?
"Ai! Get back here!" My mother's yell came from behind me, but I ignored it and continued forward. Although I do find it kind of strange, my speed is quite fast. I was on the second floor, and within a minute, I was already outside the hospital.
My reflexes were also quite high. I did not bump into a single person or thing as I ran. What I thought was going to be an hour-long run ended up only taking me thirty minutes. "I am not even out of breath…" I looked down at myself and tilted my head to the side. This really surprised me.
"So this is what my abilities are with my stats at 10?" I couldn't help but purse my lips and wonder why I couldn't have gotten this system thing in my past life.
At any rate, this was actually a good thing. This time, the fight would not end up with both Jen and me being beaten black and blue. I will teach that fat bitch Amanda a lesson so she will understand that she can not pick on my best friend. While I would not care about other relationships, there were three that I still wished to hopefully keep going.
Besides my mother and father, I did hope to save Jen. I have no idea what happened to her when the apocalypse happened. I spent two years in the hidden lab, after all. But if she did survive, I hoped she was not made into a plaything. No girl should go through any experience that is forced upon them. I guess the same goes for men as well.
I walked through the school gates and into the school, where I was stopped by the security guard. After he ran a metal detector over me, he let me through. Why he still did that when I had no bag or anything on me is beyond me.
When I got to my class, I peeked in through the window to see the math teacher doing his thing. He was an older man with glasses that always fell down his nose. With his ancient christian-style monk haircut, you would think he was at least wearing a hat or shaving his head. I will never understand why those who go bald like that still keep the hair that wraps around their head. It makes no sense….
Anyway, time to get yelled at. I opened the door and, of course, drew everyone's attention. Not only was I late, but I didn't even have my math book with me. "Miss Inoue, why are you late?"
"Me?" I asked in confusion with a hint of sarcasm. I had gained quite a bit of a wise-ass personality during my past life. It was something hard to get rid of.
Me questioning him, of course, made the old man mad. "Yes, you! Is there anyone else in the class named Inoue!?"
"I don't know! Why are you asking me? Don't you have the attendance book?" I asked back, causing the old man to look at me with a stunned expression. He really could not say anything back against that. The silence between us caused the other kids in the class to giggle.
"Just go sit down!" I guess my words made him too embarrassed to continue.
I walked over and sat down at my table, which consisted of Jen, a boy named Henry, and another girl name Haley. We sat in table rows with Jen and me towards the middle of the room while Henry and Haley were towards the window.
Jen and I call Henry and Haley the double H duo since they are always together. They bicker like an old married couple and are kind of cute. I wonder how quickly they will die in the future….
While the math teacher continued his lecture, Jen poked me in the side and whispered, "What happened? Why are your eyes red? Did you get contacts?"
"No. I ended up fainting this morning, and my mother rushed me to the hospital. When I woke up, my eyes were already red in color. Pretty cool, huh?" I asked with a bright smile.
"What!? Did you get them looked at!?" Jen cried out, causing the math teacher to turn and look at us.
"Miss Hamilton, Miss Inoue, is there something you would like to share with the class?" The math teacher asked. I could tell he was mad. His brow was wrinkled so much that it looked like he was trying to grow a second head.
I thought for a moment before standing up and saying, "Teacher, we were talking about your erectile dysfunction."
"How do you know about that!?" The old man blurted out, causing the entire class to go quiet.
"Ah! I did not realize it was true. I was just trying to make a joke. It seems I stepped on a landmine. I am sorry for outting your ED." I replied while bowing my head. The teacher's face did not look good. If I continue anymore, he might have a heart attack.
"You! Just sit down and listen to the class!" The old man yelled out before turning to look at all the students who were trying to hold back their laughter. He snorted and shouted: "Just laugh already! Wait until you get older!"
