"Are you, okay? Simon?" Veronica asked seeing how the man was standing frozen, clenching his fist.
Simon was startled to hear Veronica's voice. Anna has outdone herself this time. He heaved a sigh of exhaustion. "I'm sorry, Veronica but I don't think I'd be able to go with you to the event."
"What's wrong, Simon? Thought you needed a job really bad." Veronica raised her brow, confusion etched on her face.
Simon couldn't help but massage his forehead, running his hand through his hair as he couldn't process everything that he had just heard from Anna in his head.
"Veronica, I'll explain everything to you when you get back." He sighed, there was no need to keep things from her when she saved his ass and gave him a place to stay. He leaned closer to her and kissed her left cheek. "I'm rooting for you, dear. Have fun." He said with a reassuring tone before heading in and just then, the cab Veronica had ordered came by.
