#Chapter Twenty-Seven
She pushed down on the handle, but the door didn't give way. She put more weight into it, but it didn't budge. Not even the slightest. She put some distance between herself and the burgundy door. Looking down, she could see shadows moving under the door and she knew that someone was inside. She knocked on the door, but received no reply.
Drawing back again, her heart sank as she wondered if Gunner was mad at her, or they were really never going to see each other again. He meant a lot to her, both sexually and emotionally. While she was dealing with a difficult phase of her life, he was the only person she couldn't find any flaws with. Barry, in all his greatness, had downsides. But Gunner? No, Gunner was perfect.

He did not give a reason why he was suddenly introducing this rule, but Kitty knew that he had started it for her sake. Worry crept into her mind and she left the burgundy door.
If she knew anything about herself, it was that she never gave up.
