#Chapter Twenty-Eight
Kitty sat in the taxi as it drove towards her school. No way in hell was she using the school bus from now on. It was expensive but now? It wasn't as if she had much of a choice. Her screen was alive with the moving pictures as the reporter announced the horrible news to her.
Her father's trial had just begun.
And from the looks of it, it was going to be highly publicised. For a town like Dalgaco where most residents were still steeped in the past and the majority held traditional beliefs, news like this blew everything out of the water and attracted the most attention.
When her taxi reached, she left for school and the moment she walked down the hallway, everyone booed at her and she felt another wave of tears coming. She bolted to her first class and sat in the empty classroom, her head on the desk as tears poured from her eyes. Soon, she heard a door sliding open and saw Mrs. Edwards strolling in.
"Oh, Kitty," she said. "Look at you! Don't cry."
"I hate this," Kitty cried as Mrs. Edwards came to stand beside her. She patted her back and her hair. "I hate this so much. Why did my father do something so stupid?"
"Oh, dear. You don't deserve this at all," she said. "I'm so sorry. I will make it all better."
"There is no way to make it better," Kitty complained. "My life is horrible. Everything is ruined now."
"I have an idea," Mrs. Edwards said.
"I don't want to hear it."
She wiped her tears away. "Just hear me out first, alright?"
"What? It's not going to work."
"As I've brought up before," she said to Kitty. "We have a very good school guidance counsellor who can help you. Book sessions with Mr. Kelly."
"He doesn't want to see me," Kitty said.
Confusion crossed Mrs. Edwards's features. "Why do you say that?"
"He doesn't like me."
"Oh, silly girl. You've never met him before, have you?" Mrs. Edwards laughed.
Yeah, she only fucked him already.
Mrs. Edwards went on. "He's very kind, trust me."
"Forget it," Kitty said.
"Besides, our school guidance counsellors can't choose who to see. If a student requests for help, he doesn't have a choice but to let her book sessions with him."
Kitty raised her head in surprise. "Really?"
"Yes, really. He'll have no choice but to see you."
Kitty wiped her tears away quickly. "Okay then, book them for me."
"Finally! I'm so glad you're taking the first step to getting help, Kitty. It's very brave of you. Thank you so much," Mrs Edwards said and Kitty smiled in response.
It took less than one day for her sessions to be approved.
