WRITER'S POV
After that call, more than five years ago, Marcus felt his purpose slipping from deep inside of his being. He could not tell exactly what he had expected for her to have said to him when he made that call. Maybe he just wanted her to probably deny everything, and- lie.
Was lying really what he wanted from her? Would he have been less upset had she lied and not being truthful from the start?
That, he couldn't even tell, but still he just couldn't stop himself from hoping this was all just a really realistic nightmare.
Not only had she, the love of his life, just betrayed him, but she allowed herself bear the seeds of the jerk who caused their misfortune.
He loved her too much that thinking, at this very exact moment, of instantly hating her was near impossible.
