Chapter 17 - The Pinnacle of Prowess

Uyo's feet thrummed against the ground as he sped towards the daunting silhouette of the Maloon Mountains. Every step carried the weight of a people's hope, of their last chance at resistance. But destiny, as it often does, had a curveball waiting.

He was running so fast, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts, that he didn't see the figure until he crashed into it. The impact was so jarring it felt as though he'd collided with a sheer, unyielding cliff face. Grunting from the unexpected obstruction, he scrambled to his feet and looked up, his heart skipping a beat.

Before him stood Unaba, and even though he wasn't particularly tall by Maguna standards, his presence was colossal. While only measuring 5 feet 10 inches, the aura around him projected something vast and formidable. His physique was a masterclass in evolutionary perfection. He wasn't bulked up, but every inch of his being was chiseled, every muscle finely tuned. His body was an ode to agility and speed, a manifestation of the pinnacle of physical prowess that every Maguna aspired to achieve but few ever did. His radiant violet-red fur shimmered, contrasting starkly with his captivating, sharp yellow eyes that seemed to see right through Uyo.

The realization was instantaneous, like a sunburst in Uyo's mind. Unaba wasn't merely the stuff of legends. He was blood. He was kin. "Brother?" Uyo's voice trembled, overwhelmed by the unexpected reunion.

Unaba's usually impassive face betrayed a hint of emotion. "It's been a while," he responded, his voice layered with a complex blend of warmth and underlying urgency.

Scrambling up, Uyo choked out, "Lira... They took her from us," his voice barely a whisper, as he relived the horror of Barron's malevolence.

Unaba's response was immediate and visceral. The already vivid red of his fur darkened to an intense shade of burning orange, an external display of the inferno that raged within. His eyes mirrored that transformation, turning a searing, glowing orange, encapsulating years of training, pain, and determination.

"They will pay," Uyo vowed, his own fury evident.

Inhaling deeply, Unaba's gaze hardened. "They will," he concurred. With those final words, he transformed into a luminous streak, propelling forward with such force that Uyo was momentarily swept off his feet by the sheer gust of his departure.

Uyo could only stare at the horizon, where his legendary brother had vanished, knowing that a monumental clash was on the horizon. Unaba, the embodiment of Maguna might and perfection, was about to challenge the Zen Empire's tyranny. The very fabric of Yupena's history was about to be forever altered.
