The town square echoed with the cruel laughter of Virel as he tauntingly held an elderly Maguna by the neck. The old man's feet dangled, flailing in a desperate yet futile struggle. Virel's eyes gleamed with malice, the thrill of domination evident.
"Such fragile creatures," Virel sneered. The sheer pressure of his grip left blue-black marks on the elderly Maguna's pale throat. Then, with a malicious chuckle, Virel took a deep breath. Exhaling, a torrent of scorching steam erupted from his nostrils. It cloaked the old man's face in searing moisture, skin bubbling and sizzling. Screams ripped through the square, but they were abruptly silenced as Virel heated his palms to a blistering temperature. Pressing them against the Maguna's body, a horrific odor filled the air – the scent of burning flesh and melting bones. The elder became nothing more than a molten heap on the cobblestones.
The terror rippling through the crowd was palpable, but a brave Maguna mother, standing defiantly with a high-tech weapon aimed at Virel, disrupted the atmosphere of despair. In her arms, she cradled an infant, and behind her stood two older children, their eyes wide with fright. The gun hummed and spat out deadly blue laser beams, each aimed with precision at Virel. Yet, they dissipated harmlessly against his chest. Every pulse of the gun drew him closer to the family, his steps heavy and deliberate.
He drew in a lungful of air, preparing to unleash his lethal steam on the family, when suddenly, an explosive force struck him. The ground tremored under the impact, sending a cloud of dust billowing into the air, and when it cleared, Virel remained standing, albeit a few yards from where he had been.
"That was... interesting," Virel admitted, smirking as he rubbed the arms he'd used to deflect the impact. Through the dispersing dust, a figure stepped forward, feet planting firmly on the ground, creating tiny craters with each step. As the shape became more defined, Virel's eyes widened in recognition.
Unaba, with an indomitable aura surrounding him, stood guard in front of the terrified Maguna family. The air around him sizzled with palpable tension. "You have trespassed on our lands," Unaba's voice rumbled, laced with controlled fury. "Your life is forfeit for this transgression."
Virel's grin widened, a devilish excitement dancing in his eyes. He clenched his fists in anticipation. "Very well, protector. Let's see if you live up to your reputation."
The two giants locked eyes, the weight of their impending clash hanging in the air. As the terrified Maguna watched, history was about to be written, one fierce clash at a time. The chapter ended, leaving readers on the edge of their seats, anxious for the colossal battle to begin.
