Chapter 8 - Soul Space

'This place looked familiar...'

Yet she couldn't remember where she saw it.

'I feel like I've been here before, but at the same time, I haven't. And something is telling me that this place is closest to my heart.'

But even amidst the wonderment, a curiosity stirred within her.

How had she arrived here?

'Am I transported to another realm? Another world, perhaps?'

Was this place a mere creation of her mind, or was it somehow connected to her unforeseen transmigration into this new world?

'But look at those clouds, so fluffy like marshmallows in different colors... It makes me hungry.'

Questions danced in her thoughts, leaving her eager to untangle the mysteries woven behind her new identity.

'Are there real secrets behind the identity of the stepmother? But I am not a detective, so how will I know?'

As her fingers brushed against a delicate blossom that graced a nearby shrub, she felt an unexpected surge of energy tingling through her veins.

'What was that? Should I... Try it again?'

A sudden realization dawned upon her, a realization that was both astonishing and disconcerting.

'I have powers...' Her inner voice whispered, echoing within her mind.

'This world is a fantasy, and people having powers are NORMAL! I shouldn't be overwhelmed too much. Maybe my powers are just a drop in a bucket.'

A vision of herself manipulating the soul space and time flitted through her consciousness. The notion that she was a space user, possessing the ability to wield a spatial power that could bend reality to her will, seemed both exhilarating and bewildering.

With a subtle gesture, a small flower she had been admiring floated into the air before her. It spun gently in a spiral, enveloped by a shimmering aura that seemed to mark her connection to this extraordinary force.

"I have... a spatial power," she murmured, marveling at the idea of being a conduit for such extraordinary capabilities.

Seraphyne's thoughts began to race, her mind spinning with the endless possibilities that this newfound ability brought.

'I used to have a Koi pond in my restaurant and at home in my previous life, and my career was smooth. But my luck must have accumulated a lot in this life! Just look at me having cool superpowers even if I'm not the world's heroine!'

Could she manipulate this power to navigate through her new world with ease?

Seraphyne's gaze wandered across the verdant landscape, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts and questions. She took tentative steps, each one filling her senses with the soft rustling of grass beneath her feet and the distant murmur of the tranquil stream.

The air felt charged with intangible energy.

"Does this place exist within my soul? Hmm, but how can I get in and get out of this place? Should I just imagine the same spot?" Her voice trembled. It was as if she stood at the precipice of two worlds, significantly bridging the gap between them.

'Like a twin brand?' The idea flickered in her mind like a distant memory struggling to resurface. She pondered that her connection to this realm might be more intricate than she initially thought.

'Why wasn't I aware of it in my past life? If I knew it, I could make a fortune by planting these almost empty fields. I can raise animals here. And I can stock a lot of modern things!'

'But haven't I dreamed of the same place when I was very drunk once? Then my sister recorded a video of me talking nonsense! So things weren't nonsensical at all!'

The puzzle pieces of her existence seemed to fit together in new and unexpected ways, forming a complex picture she had once glimpsed before.

'Was I truly destined to be in this world?' The question lingered, a thread of uncertainty tugging at her thoughts. Could it be that her presence here was not mere chance but a purposeful convergence of fates?

'Or am I the true owner of this body, and something occurred when I was young, causing my soul to break?' The confession that she might have a deeper history with this world left her heart racing.

'But if so, how could I recover my memories of this world?' The desire to unearth the truth burned within her, igniting determination and courage.

Her thoughts swirled like a storm, colliding and intertwining, revealing fragments of a greater narrative that remained shrouded in mystery. Yet, as her contemplations swirled, her attention was drawn to a singular sight in the distance. There was a pristine white house nestled amidst the vibrant surroundings.

The house exuded an air of magic, its walls seemingly untouched by time. Its architecture possessed an otherworldly quality, evoking a sense of familiarity that tugged at the fringes of her memory.

"Is that...?" Seraphyne's voice trailed off, her eyes fixated on the distant house. She has a feeling that the answer to her inquiries might lie within those walls.

'Is that a fairy's house?'

'Can that place give me answers?'

Excited and fearful, she began to walk toward the house.

"Fairy... Fairy! Are you inside? Can I come in? I want to ask some questions from you."

What she saw within the house remained a secret.

As Seraphyne emerged from the ethereal space of her soul, her thoughts buzzed with a sense of clarity.

"Souls lost in another world must continue to live on!"

The urgent need to recover her belongings consumed her evening. Each minute was dedicated to the task at hand. She was piecing together the fragments of her possessions scattered like fallen leaves.

'I can never be poor in this life. But at the same time, I can only work hard for it as an orphan who never had a home. People must pity me for being all alone.'

Among the items she unearthed were a collection of black cards, each bearing the mark of a legendary boss. These cards held the key to vast riches, assets that surpassed anything she could have imagined in her previous life. Yet, she wasn't taken aback by this windfall.

'Truth be told, I'm actually very wealthy!'

She had already braced herself for the unexpected turns her life might take in this new world.

"What was actually my job description in this world? How could an orphan who travels around the world have so much wealth?" She pondered aloud.

The incongruity of her state of affairs was gnawing at her thoughts. The disparity between her past and present raised questions that demanded answers.

'I need proof that these weren't gained by illegal means.'

Her search extended to locating her old phone, a modern artifact that seemed to have vanished from her reach. The absence of her phone stirred a mixture of frustration and curiosity. There must be some hidden things in it that should be disposed of for her safety.

Yet, her vast wealth wasn't a product of the Alpha's generosity. The Alpha's role as a prudent manager of the pack's resources was well-known, an assurance that he wasn't one to throw away fortunes without discernment.

'Where did she get so much money?' she mused to herself, her mind retracing the steps that led to her unexpected fortune.

The realization that her wealth didn't stem from familial ties or connections prompted her to delve deeper into the origin of her riches.

She couldn't shake the nagging doubt that the Alpha, a shrewd and calculating figure, would have overlooked such significant financial assets. 'Has he not investigated my identity?' she pondered, her thoughts veering toward a tangle of possibilities.

'How was this money hidden from him? How did I manage to slip beneath his watchful gaze, especially as his new wife?' As the deepness of the night cast long shadows across the room, Seraphyne found herself engrossed in a web of inquiries.

'I should just focus on my own goals! Having money and living a good life should matter most when I'm only a foreigner with no background.' Seraphyne's firm conviction echoed through her mind like a mantra.

A gentle knock on the door jolted her from her musings.

'I should hide these things! I can't let anyone see them. I'll hide them in the soul space!'

Her instincts tingled with caution, reminding her that vigilance was paramount even in this seemingly idyllic setting.

"Luna, I am sorry to disturb your rest," a voice called from beyond the door, "the dinner is waiting to be served."

Seraphyne's reflexes kicked in, her voice steady as she replied, "I'll be there in a minute!" The rhythmic beating of her heart hinted at the underlying tension, a reminder that she was treading unfamiliar territory and the secrets surrounding her new life were far from being revealed.

With a lingering glance around the room, she took a deep breath, reminding herself that every step forward was a step into the unknown, a step that held the promise of answers, challenges, and perhaps a destiny she was yet to grasp fully.

During dinner, Seraphyne's gaze swept discreetly across the faces of those seated around the table. The assembly before her was a mix of various individuals, each with their own stories and roles within the Bloodmoon pack.

She thought, 'Starting a business in my territory doesn't sound bad.'
