Ethan abruptly slammed on the brakes of his car which made Seraphina involuntarily jolt upright.
The journey to the hospital with both of them in the car was rather unpleasant.
None of them uttered a single word to each other.
Without wasting time, Ethan exited the car and immediately walked into the hospital, he paid no attention to Serena, who slowly stepped out of the car with a gloomy look on her face.
Ok, where did she go wrong?
Was it having an affair with a married man? The father of the guy that used to be her sister's boyfriend!
Serena wondered if things would have been different if she wasn't involved with Ethan's father.
Her sister probably wouldn't be in jail and she wouldn't be in this situation either.

Serena froze at the doorway as she realized that she did not know her way to where Ethan's mother was.
She let out a tired sigh, just as she gazed around confused, her eyes rested on Ethan, hands in his trousers pockets, his stern gaze fixed on her.
A small smile unexpectedly carved her lips, Serena immediately shrugged it off, surprised at herself.
Why did her heart suddenly tinge at the sight of Ethan?
She shrugged the thoughts off, as she made her way to Ethan.
Serena Unexpectedly got drawn into a moment of acute admiration for Ethan.
The journey to Ethan felt like forever, as her eyes traveled all over him.
Ethan was powerfully built, with sun kissed hair, He kept his mouth closed in a thin, straight line, revealing beautifully sculpted cheekbones.
The jacket he wore over his broad shoulders had neatly polished buttons with a soft outlook.
Serena blinked her eyes continuously, she slightly shook the thoughts off her head as she hurried her steps to where Ethan stood.
Ethan did not utter a word to her, he just turned and walked on with Serena slowly walking behind him, her eyes fixed on him.
She marveled at how smooth and confident his gait was.
Serena was so focused on this fantasy, that she didn't know when Ethan stopped, she bumped into him, her head resting on his back.
"Are you blind?" Ethan barked as he turned to face her.
"I..I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you" Serena replied with a wobbly tone.
"You have eyes, use them!" Ethan thundered.
Serena flinched slightly. Even at this moment, her thoughts were filled with how smoky his voice sounded.
Her heart tinged with both fright and excitement.
Get hold of yourself, girl.
"Mother" Ethan called as he walked into the hospital room where his mother was, laid on the bed.
Charlotte slowly turned her head in his direction. A big smile appeared on her face.
"It's Ethan. It's my baby boy. Oh, Ethan" Charlotte reveled as she tried to seat herself up.
"I guess the gunshot did something to you, huh" Ethan taunted his mother as he moved closer to her. "Lay down" he said in a murmur as he tried to put his mother back down but Charlotte complained, "no"
"Help me up, let me seat"
"Alright" Ethan obeyed.
"Is that Seraphina?" Charlotte asked as her eyes rested on Serena.
Ethan let out a very dry chuckle as he made his way to sit on the couch.
"That's your husband's little mistress, Serena Coleman" Ethan uttered
Charlotte's brows snapped together and a deep brown appeared on her face.
"You!"she spat with clenched teeth, her hands folded in a fist like she was about to punch Serena.
She probably would if not for her current condition.
Serena's forehead creased as Charlotte sneered at her, she took a step back.
Ethan erupted into a wide laugh.
Serena stared at him, a line appeared between her brows.
"You have to get used to her, mother, she is your caretaker and soon she will be my step mother" Ethan professed.
Unexpectedly, Charlotte collapsed back on the bed, laid down, with her head straight up, frozen.
" Mrs. Sullivan.." Serena called, she wanted to say something, at least ,but before she could...
"Get out!! Get out of my sight right now you little slut!! " Charlotte roared with rage.
Serena, not able to take it all anymore, scurried out of the room.
Ethan jerked up to his feet,
"Don't you leave" Charlotte charged at her son.
"Father gave me a task, mother. I have to take her to the company" Ethan uttered, he left the room.
"Uhhhh" Charlotte groaned loudly with fury.
Ethan stepped out of the hospital, his eyes widened at the sight of Serena, waiting close to his car.
Ethan walked over.
"Why do you hate me?" Serena asked quietly, with a thick tone as she gazed up at him with a tearful gaze.
Ethan had mixed feelings as he stared at her.
"Don't you dare cry" Ethan said in what sounded like a warning, but it was too late. He watched as the tears ran down Serena's cheeks, and a few seconds later, she started to wail along, loudly.
"Uhhh" Ethan groaned loudly as he covered his face with his hands.
Serena kept crying, with her eyes closed and her mouth wide open, she wailed on.
Reluctantly, Ethan moved closer to her, just to stop her from wailing so much in public, he began to tap her back with a finger, not uttering a single word.
Serena wailing came to an abrupt stop, she looked up at Sebastian, her eyes and cheeks wet with tears.
Her gaze rested on Ethan lips, despite how blurry her eyes were with tears, she could still clearly see how soft and delicate it looked,
And at that moment, all she wanted to do was place her lips on his.
Serena swiftly wrapped her arm around Ethan's neck, pulled her head to his and placed her lips hard on his.
