"What is this ab…"
The call ended before Seraphina could finish her question,
She stared at the caller with a confused expression on her face, she wondered who it was.
It was an unknown number,
She had picked up in a rush without even checking who the caller was. She expected it to be from Sebastian.
Seraphina was apprehensively keened on hearing from him.
She exhaled deeply.
Her eyes stared into space, her thoughts wandered back to the caller.
"Emily Coleman," She said to herself in a hushed tone.
She squeezed her eyes shut, and did a little pouty lip, trying hard to recall where she had heard the name 'Coleman' from, it sounded familiar.
"where? where? where?" she whispered continuously to herself.
'No way!'
Abruptly, she opened her eyes, and her mouth slightly dropped open.
"Dorcas Coleman, Serena Coleman, Emily Coleman"
"Their mother?" She wondered, her brows drew together.
'Why did she call me? and even asked to meet me? what does she want?' Her head wouldn't stop pondering on those thoughts.
A deep frown engulfed her face.
"ahhh! stop! stop! stop!" She snapped out in a low tone,
Her head already felt clouded with Sebastian and Gabriela all up in it.
Seraphina brushed a hand through her hair.
she winced as she felt herself coming down with a headache.
The pain pierced through her head sharply again, causing her to wince for the second time.
She squeezed her eyes shut.
The taxi abruptly came to a halt.
Seraphina slowly opened her eyes just as the taxi man turned to her and said
"We've arrived at your destination, Mam,"
She gave a little nod and then proceeded to step out of the car.
The taxi man also exited the car to help her with her luggage in the boot.
*voom* *vooooom*
The taxi drove out of sight, leaving Seraphina with all of her stuff.
She stood solemnly, her gaze fixed on Sebastian's abode.
Her thoughts wandered off to Gabriela.
Would she be in there? with him?
And what if she was? How was she supposed to react?!
"ah jeez" Seraphina exhaled, tiredly.
The expression on her face changed, as her thoughts wandered off to something else.
She turned her gaze to the direction of her own home, she could still see it even from the nearly far distance she was.
The entrance was already covered with little bits of grass. It was starting to look like an abandoned home and it made her feel on edge.
She made the decision not to put it up for sale, with the hope that her mother would be back one day.
'okay! let's face this'
She thought with a loud sigh as she matched to the front porch of Sebastian's home, dragging her stuff along.
Seraphina stood still for what felt like minutes as she tried to gather her thoughts and herself as a whole.
She then proceeded to knock on the door, purposely ignoring the doorbell that stared right at her.
All it took was a gentle single knock on the door for it slowly crept open, startling Seraphina.
She took a few steps back, it gave her nothing but an uneasy feeling.
Seraphina gawked hard at the door, a cold shiver went through her spine the moment she noticed that there was no one behind it.
The door opened on its own!
Why was it opened?!
Seraphina folded her hands into a fist, she was trying to withhold herself from thinking too deeply about it.
'maybe he just forgot to lock the door'
Seraphina swallowed hard. She glanced around her, nervously. And without thinking much, with heavy steps, she pranced forward and burst through into the house.
"Oh my God!!" Was the high-pitched, piercing shriek that escaped from Seraphina's mouth the moment her eyes rested on the condition of Sebastian's home.
It was the total opposite of what it looked like before. All of his stuff was scattered and littered across the house like he was robbed by some persistent and ruthless set of robbers.
"Se... Sebastian!!" Seraphina hollered, fright in her eyes. She immediately hustled to inspect the other areas of the house.
It was all the same.
And Sebastian was nowhere to be found.
'What the hell happened here!?" Seraphina looked like she was having a panic attack.
Her thoughts instantly started to wander off to the worst assumptions about what might have happened.
'was this the reason why he wasn't picking up my calls'
Seraphina let out a deep sigh the moment she felt her eyes get wet with tears.
Her heart burned with every single second she stood there, confused.
What if he was in danger?
"Oh God!" She cried out, bending down to her knees, and covered her face with her trembling hands.
"Sera!" Catherine called, rushing into the house
Seraphina sprung up to her feet, slightly startled by Catherine's sudden presence and the hint of fright and urgency in her voice.
Without uttering a single word, she fixed her curious gaze on Catherine who was breathing like she ran a thousand-meter race.
Catherine swallowed hard,
"I.. saw your friend get dragged into a..a black bus.."
Seraphina's eyes widened,
"What…by..by who?"
"Yes. Well…I didn't mean to spy on him or anything but I was just by coincidence standing close to my window when he drove into his driveway…
But at that moment, a group of men in a black suit and a black van rushed to him and dragged him into their van, they even took his car with them" Catherine informed.
Oh, of course, Catherine was spying on him.
Her agitated curiosity got the best of her which caused her to be the only witness of a daylight kidnapping.
'his car..' Seraphina slightly gasped,
His car wasn't parked outside. She had failed to notice that.
Seraphina staggered back as she felt her legs get feeble.
Sebastian got kidnapped in his driveway!
But then why was inside his home upside down?
"I…I don't believe that" Seraphina wept out loud, she fell to the ground on her knees.
"What am I supposed to do now, oh lord!!" Seraphina cried out.
