Austin got the files from the girls. It has all the records of their wrongdoings. These four now did not understand who could be the one who want their daughters to collect evidence against them.
"If someone wants to catch us being guilty, why doesn't that person do all this work himself... or herself?" Karter asked.
"Whoever this person is. Why send our daughters to the Sheriff's Office in Lezville?" Richard took a pause, "This person can't be from the list we made".
"Robin is the only one in Lezville who knows our secret. We killed her…" Morgan had a point.
"Yaa. He is right" Austin agreed with Morgan.
"Matthew… Robin's Husband. I think he is creating all this mess. There is no one in our list who knows about Lezville, or what happened in Lezville" Richard continued.
It was a tense moment for them as they considered the possibility that Matthew, Robin's husband, could be behind this whole thing. Karter couldn't understand why Matthew wouldn't just go to the authorities himself if he wanted to bring them down.
"But why would he send our daughters to collect the evidence?" he asked. "Why not just go to the Sheriff's Office himself?".
"Maybe he's trying to protect himself," Austin suggested. "If he goes to the authorities, he could be seen as an accomplice. But if it's our daughters bringing the evidence, we can not turn the table against them".
"That's a good point," Richard nodded. "We need to find out for sure if it's Matthew. And if it is, we need to deal with him before he ruins us."
The men sat in silence for a moment, each lost in thought. Finally, Karter spoke up.
"We need to talk to our daughters. Find out what they know and how they got involved. And we need to do it without letting on that we suspect Matthew. If he's behind this, we can't let him know we're on to him".
The others nodded in agreement, and they made a plan to approach their daughters and try to gather more information. It was a risky move, but they knew they had to act fast if they wanted to protect themselves and their reputation.
The very next morning all four of them were standing outside Sasan's bedroom. Austin knocked on the door, feeling sorry for the previous day about how badly he scolded her daughter and her friends.
Damietta opened the door. "Yes sir?" she said.
Austin saw her daughter, Larette and Naxis sleeping. "Wake them up. You all fresh n up and come to the living room".
"Okay… We will be there in a moment" Damietta said, closing the door.
As the girls got dressed and made their way to the living room, they could sense that something was different. The usually cheerful atmosphere of the house was replaced with tense and nervous energy. When they arrived in the living room, they found their fathers pacing back and forth, deep in thought.
"Sit down, girls," Karter said as they entered the room. "We need to talk to you about something important."
The girls sat down, their faces filled with worry as they waited for their fathers to speak.
"We have reason to believe that someone close to us is trying to ruin our reputation," Karter began. "We don't know who it is, but we think it might be Matthew."
The girls were shocked and confused by the revelation. First thing is that they don't know Matthew. Second, this is that they couldn't believe that there might be something that can destroy their father's reputation.
"We need your help," Morgan said. "We need to find out if you know anything about this or if Matthew has confided in any of you."
The girls looked at each other, unsure of what to say. They had don't know Matthew or anything related to wrongdoing.
"We don't know anything," Damietta said after a moment of hesitation. "We know nothing about Matthew… We don't know someone doing something like this".
The fathers sighed, disappointed but not surprised by the girls' lack of information. They knew they would have to find another way to uncover the truth.
"Okay, girls, you can go back to your rooms," Karter said, dismissing them. "We'll figure out what to do next."
The girls left the room, their minds racing with the news they had just heard. They couldn't believe that someone can do anything to hurt their families. They knew they had to find a way to end this thing.
