Chapter 30 - 030: Planting Roses pt.1

030: Planting Roses

When Roch got the packet of seeds, he stared at it for a while, not knowing what to do. Although he is talented and well-versed in all Four Divine Arts, he was never interested in the Dao of Planting.

He thought for a moment and remembered his genius Spiritual Planter Older Sister. He recalled the times he saw his Older Sister performing a plating seal technique before he barely remembered the most common planting techniques.

[Fertile Soil] [Water Spring] [Blessing Light]

The three basic techniques he often saw his sister use in the garden were finally put to use at this moment.

He sighed helplessly deep inside before he started moving.

Zemirah saw Roch use his spiritual energy to scatter the rose seeds, even spreading them on the bald land spot.

Then she saw him clumsily make a seal technique and the land was turned, spring water came and warm sunlight poured.

It was an eye-opening scene that made Zemirah happy as she clapped in amazement. The scene of the roses slowly blooming altogether under her eyes made Zemirah feel the magic of this world.

The roses don't look like they were just recently planted as they were blooming healthily. They swayed with the wind and Zemirah seemed to smell the roses. They were so beautiful that Zemirah wanted to plant one in her garden.

Roch, who was dripping in cold sweat deep inside, sighed in relief, feeling lucky that he remembered his sister's planting techniques otherwise he would've embarrassed himself.

In fact, Roch doesn't have to force himself as Zemirah would've understood. It was just that her sight seemed to have triggered something hidden in him that made him so competitive he agreed to her request.

He did not regret it though, as he stared deeply at the smile on her eyes. He just wished he could see the lips hidden behind her veil.

"Young Master Roch, you are so amazing. You even know how to do this." Zemirah was so impressed that words of praise couldn't stop pouring from her mouth.

Roch chuckled at Zemirah's continuous pouring of rainbow farts before coughing to cover his smile and the hint of pride in his heart, "No big deal, it's good that you like it."

Zemirah nodded again and again while looking at the sea of roses, "They are so beautiful. I thought plum blossoms in winter are already the best scene but I did not expect that a sea of roses would not pale in comparison at all."

Roch smiled at her words, he liked the thought of being the one to show her another beautiful memory. This sea of roses, despite being the place that almost buried them, was still a memorable sight.

"Let's go, Martin must be waiting for us." Roch let Zemirah savor the scenery before reminding her.

Zemirah nodded, took one last glance at the now lush spot of roses and followed after Roch.

Roch saw her actions and smiled.

They left the Lover Roses Garden and went to stroll in the streets where many stalls set up by cultivators lay. It was like the one on the other side of the Teal River, which was commonly seen in places where there are many cultivators but no nearby town or village.

These are temporary settlements with no one presiding over them. The danger of being in places like these is so high that robbing and killing are common. This is why one needs to have strength when wandering around the world of cultivation.

If not, then you must've someone strong to guard you against danger.

Wild beasts and nature are not the only danger as humans are more dangerous since the deceit can't be seen on the surface. Be it Demonic Cultivators or Spiritual Cultivators, they are all the same in front of interest.

Since Zemirah has enough talismans and artifacts on her body as protection, she has enough courage to go out of the Teal River Town. Now with Roch, a Foundation Building Realm cultivator, beside her, Zemirah has no qualms about wandering in the stalls.

Cultivators with evil intentions quickly nipped their plans once they felt the oppression exuded by the man beside her.

Zemirah bought some trinkets she thought were interesting while they waited for Martin and perhaps the Jade Teal Town Lord.

She was curious what would be the reaction of that spy town lord when he knew they were alright and even managed to capture one enemy.

While shopping with Roch, Zemirah remembered one thing. She hasn't given a gift to Roch, ever.

How could she forget such an important thing?

You must know that as Zemirah had her System, she always kept in mind to make full use of the System's function to accumulate wealth and resources.

Now that she has another, well, friend, Zemirah will surely give a gift to that person. But the thing is, she never did!

Zemirah frowned in thought and realized that maybe the reason is because Roch seemed like a person that doesn't lack anything. He looks like someone who has everything he wants in his palm, which Zemirah thinks she can't possibly surpass a person who has such a deep background with her current state.

Perhaps in a hundred years when accumulated enough cultivation resources on her.

Anyway, Zemirah decided to find a suitable gift for Roch. Even for the sake of his sea of roses that she enjoyed looking at.

Zemirah then fell into the dilemma of what to give Roch. If it was normal, she would've already given a talisman since she knew everyone would love to have them. Her talismans are all high quality that is hard to find in the market.

But Roch doesn't necessarily lack them!

This thought made Zemirah sigh while thinking that rich cultivators find it hard to find gifts. She was absentminded while strolling beside Roch as she recalled her conversations with the man.

Maybe she will find any clues as to what Roch would like to have.

Roch, who was beside Zemirah, noticed her being in a daze. He did not bother her but stared at her facial expressions which were constantly changing. Sometimes she looks happy, disappointed, and then many more.

Roch did not realize he was having fun watching Zemirah until she came out of her daze with a loud exclamation. "That one!"

Then he watched her run to a small stall that sells Mortal-Grade and Grade 1 artifacts. The person watching over the stall is an old man whose face is full of beard and wearing a hat that covers his face.

Zemirah thought that the stall owner was sleeping but as she was about to touch the artifacts on the table, a voice suddenly sounded. "No touching unless buying."

It was the old man who was supposed to be sleeping.

Zemirah apologized and continued looking at the items without touching them.
