Chapter 73 - On his Mind

"What's up again?" Layd Olani inquired as they walked through the ruins.

Layd Rigus responded cryptically, "Something that has to do with the beasts."

Layd Olani pressed for more information, "And what's that?"

With a hint of intrigue, Layd Rigus suggested, "Why not save your questions for the Mykon? That will be better, right?"

But Layd Olani persisted, "Why do you have to come by yourself and not send an Actant or Sage?"

"That would indeed have been a waste of time; you'd be occupied with another round if I sent an Actant," Layd Rigus replied sternly, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.

Layd Olani nodded, a hint of frustration evident, "Yeah, you're right. I could have been thoroughly satisfied by now." They continued their stride toward the grand tent, where the Mykon awaited them, unaware of the challenges they were about to face.
