Chapter 11 - SUN AND THE MOON

In twilight's realm,

where naught remains but the moon's light,

I yearn for sunlight's touch on the leaf and tree,

In Savannah's land,

where rain in bounty's sight,

Herbs and trees sway to the rain's melody.

The creatures bow, in humble submission they, Acknowledge His reign as raindrops gently fall,

In this grand order,

in night's soft array,

I ponder how we fit,

the mystery of all.

Does Sun feel lonely,

shedding light to moon's grace?

Does moon,

in turn,

express thanks with each phase?

I cherish stars that gleam in night's embrace,

The days of azure skies,

my heart's ablaze.

I once believed her heart was mine,

assured,

Like lovers' arms,

I craved her tender touch,

Yet, like the Sun,

I'm distant,

not demurred,

Bringing hope,

but solitude I clutch.

Call me the Sun,

a beacon in the skies,

Offering light,

then setting in the west,

I deem her mine,

though often she's out of sight,

She shines,

she glows,

and never takes her rest.

Her shifting face,

her moods,

a constant shift,

Conceal her true emotions,

like a veiled rift,

I smile,

but they perceive me as a myth,

They favor her,

the Moon,

at night's cool drift.In absence,

Earth and the Moon eclipse the stars,

Their tides and ripples cause a restless sea,

She changes the weather,

amidst the storms and wars,

While I bring calm to cosmic harmony.

When I draw near,

she claims I'm hot,

too bright,

She wishes for a gentler,

cooler tune,

Yet,

I,

the Sun,

make her world ever light,

Transforming her,

a gem in night's soft moon.

I miss my siblings,

stars that shine above,

They form pathways to guide the lost souls home, Sometimes I yearn to leave my post above,

Perhaps,

one day,

into the night I'll roam.

One day, she might forsake her lunar grace,

A lonely rock adrift,

lost in the void,

Or I,

with sisters,

in a cosmic race,

Could cause a brilliant meltdown,

unalloyed.

But maybe,

just maybe,

pride I'll set aside,

To reunite with her,

side by side,

In the vast cosmos,

where our paths divide,

We'll find each other, in celestial stride.
