He took my wife from me. And now he wanted to take my position? Alejandro Montellia. A man I had never heard of before.
Wait! I had. He was the guy who took over the shares of the project that was supposed to be mine. The one Hector connected him with the owners of the airport.
That's right!
Just because I let him be, he now saw no boundaries and crossed my path again.
No rival dared to do so. How dare he? Crossing my boundaries without any slight fear? The nerve of that masked imposter to steal my glory in the applause and admiration of the crowd.
Without a thought of consciousness, the dark desire to hurt Camilla consumed me. The image of her dancing with this man replayed in my mind, igniting a fiery jealousy that was beyond my control. I wanted to make her suffer, to break her spirit, to see her beg for my forgiveness.
As we stood together, awaiting the announcement of the richest young man at the ball, I held Camilla's hand tightly, not because I cared for her comfort, but because I wanted to assert my dominance over her.
The anticipation of winning the title for the fourth consecutive year fueled my ego, and I couldn't bear the thought of being overshadowed by someone like him. A man who seemed to have no background or else, I would have known him.
But then they called his name as the richest young man and my fury knew no bounds. The applause that followed was like a mocking symphony, and my blood boiled with rage. How dare they celebrate him while I, Marcus Del Monte, stood there in humiliation?
I couldn't control the embarrassment that surged within me, and I couldn't keep up the pretense any longer. "You're nothing but a worthless, gold-digging woman!" I hissed at Camilla, my voice dripping with venom.
Without a word, I gripped Camilla's hand even tighter and raved out of the ballroom, not caring about the curious glances and whispers that followed us. The applause for the winner only fueled my fury, and I couldn't bear to stay in that place a moment longer.
As we reached outside, I finally let go of Camilla's hand and both of us hopped into my car, anger still consuming me. "You enjoyed dancing with him, didn't you?" I spat, my voice laced with bitterness.
Camilla looked at me with contempt in her eyes, her expression icy. "I danced with him because it was part of the event. Nothing more," she replied, her voice cold and distant
I scoffed, not believing her for a moment. "Don't lie to me, Camilla. I saw the way you looked at him, the way you smiled. You enjoyed it," I accused, my jealousy and anger overwhelming me to anything else.
Her eyes narrowed, and she took a step back, clearly repulsed by my presence. "You're delusional if you think I could ever enjoy anything with you," she shot back, her words like daggers to my flesh.
"You will regret this, Camilla," I warned, my voice low and menacing.
She laughed bitterly, a cruel smile on her lips. "Regret? I regret the day I ever met you. You're a monster, Marcus! All you care about is yourself and your twisted desires," Camilla spat, her voice filled with anger and disgust.
"And you're a naive little girl, thinking you can defy me and get away with it," I retorted, my fury consuming me. "You belong to me, and you'll do as I say!"
I snarled at her, the last bit of my patience worn thin.
"You are a sick man, Marcus!" She yelled back at me, her eyes flashing a dangerous yellow light.
"No, you are a foolish fool who thinks she can escape her fate!" I yelled, my body shaking with fury.
"Please don't act like a child, Marcus. It doesn't suit you. Your behavior has been getting worse. No no no no,"
She laughed, " This is how you have been. You keep showing your worst side every day just to torture me! Sometimes I wonder if you even treated my mother because why wouldn't you even want me to see her? Maybe you've just used her to get me and left her the instant you got what you wanted. You aren't human Marcus. YOU ARE AN ANIMAL!!"
I snapped and slammed my fist onto the steering wheel. I was losing my patience as each passing second felt like hours. She would rather die than surrender. The fact that the one thing that brought her peace and joy tonight was the same piece of shit that took my award today made me lose my mind even more.
Camilla's POV
I never thought I'd be capable of fighting with Marcus the way I was right now. His rage seemed to escalate to a dangerous level.
His face contorted with anger, and he gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles turning white. I could see the madness in his eyes as he drove the car at an alarming speed, seemingly determined to take his anger out on the road.
"Marcus, slow down! You're going too fast!" I cried out, my heart pounding in my chest as I tried to reason with him.
But he didn't listen. Instead, he seemed to become even more reckless, pushing the car to its limits. I could feel the car swerving and shaking under the force of his aggression.
Fear gripped me as I realized the dangerous path he was taking. For as far as I saw the arrow pointed at 450 out of 500 speed for God's sake.
As we sped down the road, another car suddenly appeared in our path, coming at us in a zigzag motion. My breath caught in my throat as Marcus desperately tried to slow down, but it was too late. The collision was inevitable.
The impact was brutal, and the world seemed to spin around us. The sound of metal crunching and glass shattering filled the air as the two cars collided with a force that left me dazed and disoriented.
Pain shot through my body as my head slammed against the window, and I could feel blood trickling down from a cut on my forehead.
As the chaos settled, I looked over to Marcus, who was slumped unconscious in his seat, blood dripping from a gash on his forehead. Panic and guilt washed over me as I reached out to him, my hands shaking.
"Marcus, wake up! Please, wake up!" I whispered, but there was no response. He remained unconscious, his breathing shallow and labored.
Not too long before I also saw a blurred vision. A dull throbbing sensation started spreading across my head, making it impossible to focus. My vision blurred and turned hazy. It felt like someone was trying to tear the back of my brain apart.
My head felt heavy as if I were carrying an elephant on my back and everything went black.
My consciousness began slipping away, and the last thing I noticed was a blurry pair of dark green eyes looking straight into mine before my whole body went limp.
