Rama's answer made Alysia even more suspicious. If he refused her offer to join Arcane Sentinels, even though he was just a freelance Hunter who had not joined any guild, there was a good chance he was hiding something.
Almost 99% of all Hunters who were offered the opportunity – or recommended – to join one of the guilds owned by a Hunter family would immediately accept it. In addition to the good facilities, they would also receive a salary that was much higher than working as a freelance Hunter.
Alysia looked at Rama, who was leaning back in his chair, looking relieved after finishing his burger. She thought: 'He's not very smart. He should have tried harder to hide the fact that he had something advantageous.'
"Thanks for the meal," Rama said.
"Don't mention it. I'm just returning the favor you did for me that time," Alysia replied.
"Is there anything else you want to talk to me about?"
"Let's exchange contact information."
