Lorelei sat in her back office looking over different reports with a single small light on her desk. Her face contorted in anger with every new bit of information she searched over. Things were moving in a direction she didn't exactly control and if there was one thing she abhorred it was not being in total control of the situation. The only thing that was proceeding in favorable manner were the genetic and cloning facilities.
The night she slew the great deceiver king was still her greatest accomplishment. She managed in one fell swoop to put her kind in control and full power of the world moving forward. If they all followed that fool they would have been way too far behind on their evolution and power. Some reports were still missing of course. Most of her army would be completely lost without her , or so she thought at any rate.
Growling lowly she flung a few files across the the room, tiring of looking at them all. Even she was surprised when the folders were caught . She had not heard, smelled, or magically felt anyone in the room with her. Mr Black stepped from the shadows holding the folders visibly annoyed himself.
" We have more problems" he began as he placed the folders on a chair nearby." There is a very competent Slayer out there. He took out one of my best assassins and maimed another".
Lorelei's eyes narrowed with this new bit of information" Are you sure? Slayers haven't been seen for many years now".
Mr Black shook his head slightly. He was unimpressed by her dismissively assuming that he had no clue of things. " I am positive. It was one of the officers in Nevada. He killed Torax which even for a Slayer I would think would be impossible " he snorted " Yet it happened. Modrixial also lost a hand and almost his life as well".
Lorelei was visibly shaken by this. Torax was one of the finest warriors she ever had the pleasure to see in action. He was a blazing whirlwind of death and destruction that had killed even the fiercest of foes. Once even watching him fell and entire army of giants when they had existed in the mortal realms." This is quite a somber day. We will have a warrior king send off for Torax. He deserves nothing less"..
Mr Black nodded at that. " Is it wise to continue with this plan to progress so openly now" he asked.
" We must continue. " She stood up angrily pounding her fists on the desk. " The humans forgot what it was like to fear. They also think they rule everything. It is finally time to bring us all to the light and fully take control again. You also know in your dark heart it's what Torax was all about. If nothing else we must honor him by becoming what we always have been. The true masters of these ignorant creatures. They are all peasants"!
Thinking for a moment , Mr Black responded. " You are correct. Perhaps I had just grown complacent with all the hiding in the shadows. It is after all what mine does best. It is time to shake this world to it's core and take control again".
Lorelei walked to a side window and looked out across the throng of the city. " It has been far too long." Stopping a moment and turning around quickly. " Have you seen your brother lately. He has not reported in for a bit".
Mr Black shook his head." No. I have not seen him either for some weeks. Probably onto something and keeping it low profile until he unravels it. You know how he is".
Lorelei gazed hard at him. He was even more dangerous than Torax for different reasons. Where Torax would make a show of it , Black would appear from the shadows and rip out a heart before anyone could even blink." I hope nothing has happened to him. I gave him a special mission. He was to weed out any Python sympathizers and more recently to find the missing girl".
Fists balled up from the dragon across her eyes. " You did not tell me these things". Blue mist emanated from his eyes. " You may be the queen , but you better not be responsible for my brothers demise or there will be more to worry about than what is on your mind already"
Of all the other dragons, Lorelei had worried about him the most. She even feared his power to some degree even though she would never admit it even to herself. " No. Nothing will happen or has happened to him. We would know. I already used my abilities to try to locate him and if he was dead or injured I would have seen it. I just wish I knew where he was and simply knew anything going on with the girl".
" Understandable." Black simply stated. " I would like to know his whereabouts also. I feel he may be in too deep even for himself. Now let us prepare the takeover campaign quickly before this Slayer or anyone else can interrupt our plans".
