Chapter 39 - Mortimer's interrogation

Inside the battle spaceship, the entire vessel shook with a loud noise!

Boom!

The powerful sound echoed throughout the ship, making it tremble like a huge drum.

"You two deep shit idiots!

"Stop your mindless attack!

"Use your fucking brains you sword cunts!

"Don't be stupidly brave, you fools!

"My hounds clearly ordered you to stay still! Just stay where you are!

"So just fucking stay and behave!

"Don't fucking move!"

The elder Progenitor, who had tortured Murky to heal his inborn mutilated body, was furious, his clenched teeth can be heard around, making the atmosphere more heavy.

Soo he clenched his hand tightly too, as if he was ready to harm anyone who dared to stand beside him.

Anyone that disturbs him, anyone that dares to make his taste more foul.

Soon, he saw Murky moving forward!

"Despicable brat, control your damn temper you human poultry!"

However, his words have no effect; he can already read in the smile of Murky that Murky means business.

"..."

He could only stare, with a contorted and holding back face.

The elder Progenitor was extremely angry because he had been trying tirelessly to find the source of the blast since earlier. He had used many animals at once, hoping to discover the cause, but he had failed.

He was certain that Murky, whom he saw through the crystal ball, was responsible for the attack.

So, he decided to find the attacker, find their weakness, and send his blood clan to deal with the situation.

However, the elder Progenitor had not made any progress in solving the mystery. The explosions seemed to come from different directions—a chaotic symphony. Sometimes they came from the sky, other times from the back, left side, right side, upper right—everywhere imaginable.

The elder Progenitor struggled to measure the strength of each explosion too because it varied unpredictably.

Some were weak, only destroying one animal, while others were incredibly powerful, obliterating multiple creatures.

Confused and overwhelmed by his own confusion, the elder Progenitor expressed his frustration.

"Run now, you foolish idiots! I told you to gather at least five people, so that when each of you retreated, I could figure out where these blasts were coming from!"

However, the two sword Progenitor only stood there, ready for battle. Seeing this action, the elder slammed his hand to the table.

Bang!

"Why are you both still standing there like fools?!"

The elder Progenitor shouted, his curses echoing through the battleship and shaking its foundations.

"Don't try to fight! I beg of your stupid ass ancestors for making both born, don't be foolish!"

He added, his face filled with uncontrollable redness.

Suddenly, a series of metallic sounds broke the silence.

"You bastard old man Mortimer! What in the world do you think you're doing? Sending those three powerful hounds in their advanced nano blood armor to confront that human! Are you scheming something, Mortimer?"

The voice from the other end had a mechanical tone, as if conversing on equal terms, and the speaker seemed experienced too, because there was no hint of fear to his tone of voice.

Mortimer, the elder Progenitor who had subjected Murky to torture, ignored the persistent voice on the other end. His focus was on Murky and the upcoming actions.

However, it was clear that the experienced person on the other side wasn't going to give up.

There was determination in his tone, as if he would do anything to get the information he wanted.

"Mortimer, you wicked old sick fucker!

"Did you plan to use that human child as the ultimate prey, protecting him with your best Nematoceran hounds until he awakened the Blood Nanomites? And then you would send your Clan's top members to eliminate him, ensuring that your newborn clan had an advantage over the others?! You deceitful old man, you have no honor! You are a cheater!"

The voice on the other end seethed with anger, ending with a sincere promise to reveal the truth to others.

Meanwhile, Mortimer brushed off the threat, his attention fixed on the events involving Murky and the two Progenitors from the Blood Sword clan. But just as he shifted his focus, a barrage of incoming calls disrupted his concentration, annoying him.

"Hey, you old bastard, Mortimer!"

"You cheating bastard!"

"Curse your Blood Claw clan!"

"You sick fucker!"

As Mortimer received more and more calls from other old fools while trying to watch Murky, his face gradually turned redder.

Then, one of them uttered words that made his body tense.

"I'm going to call the grand elder. I'll make sure he knows, and your clan will be disqualified from this Honor battle!"

Upon hearing this message, Mortimer, unable to bear it any longer, reached his breaking point.

"What is all this noise?!

"Can you all shut it up!!?"

He shouted, trying to drown it out. However, when his focus was back on the futuristic crystal ball, his face turned pale.

In the crystal ball, he saw Murky's face, which was now covered in earth dirt and blood, while the upper bodies of the two Blood Sword clan Progenitors had disappeared, with red blood spurting from the half of their bodies that remained.

Mortimer felt like luck had turned against him. He had missed what he had been eagerly waiting for, all because of the disturbance caused by these ignorant people.

"Curse you, you all damned old fools! I missed it, because of you, because of you, you bunch of fools!" he erupted with anger, his voice filled with fury.

The others fell silent, now paying attention to Mortimer as they watched the unfolding events involving the Nematoceran hounds, Murky, and the two newly deceased Progenitors.

"What just happened?"

The voice that was previously shouting at the elder Mortimer now sounded calmer.

Gathering himself, Mortimer prepared to respond, "That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out you damned old fool. I've been in a struggle with him for hours, yet I can't locate him," he paused, his voice carrying a hint of unease.

"That human possesses a mysterious nature, and he exudes a profoundly dangerous aura, even now, I still couldn't see it."

He added, and as soon as the words left his mouth, silence filled the airwaves of the advanced communication devices.

"You have no idea?"

A female elderly voice echoed, and Mortimer nodded in approval, saying, "No, I have no idea."

Following his response, another silence ensued, even longer than the previous one.

Mortimer continued to observe Murky, who was engaged in the rather unsightly act of picking his nose and consuming and then consuming the booger that he found.

Finally, to break the silence, an ethereal voice spoke again, asking.

"How did you encounter that human, and why did you provide him with the Nano Suit of your Blood Claw clan?"

Hearing the voice, Mortimer's body went stiff.

The seemingly innocent question caused him to break out in a cold sweat.

He couldn't reveal that Murky had single-handedly defeated a Nematoceran hound using only stones.

Mortimer had equipped Murky with the nano armor with the intention of using him as the perfect ultimate prey for his Blood Claw clan.

Yes, their accusations were mostly right.

If he disclosed this information, it would be seen as cheating in the game of annihilation.

"What?"

The voice on the other side pressed further. Mortimer gritted his teeth, reluctantly opening his mouth.

"He—"

He began, his voice faltering as he clenched his teeth.

"He killed my clan members while he was still human," he confessed, his voice trembling.

"I was impressed by his exceptional skills," he added, but before he could continue, the voice interrupted abruptly, demanding, "If you were only impressed by his skills, why are the Nematoceran hounds accompanying him?"
