Chapter 6 - Legendary Quest

At this moment in time, Connor was thinking of which path he wanted to take to pave the smoothest road to the top. However, he knows nothing about his class. His job was preselected for him in the first place.

Even his race has changed from human to something called a Wearh. He'd never heard of the Wearh race back in the future. So, he was quite interested in which race this was, all the while hoping it wasn't of the extinct Lesser Races.

That would be a major letdown. Thinking of his increase in STR, this shouldn't be the case. Wanting to know more, he mentally clicked on his job class to get better details.

[Job Class: Ominous-Celestial Knight (King)

Description- A long, forgotten high-ranking class exclusively associated with the Mythical Wearh Race. Even among the Wearh Race, the Ominous-Celestial Knight class was exceedingly rare. As such, the King-graded class is even rarer as it is the ruler of the Wearh race itself.

This class has the highest affinity with the light and darkness elements.

Wearhs with this Job have an increased instinct in the field of battle and magic. As such, this means that players with this class equipped have Job equipment and weapon restrictions lifted.

With this class, those particular Wearhs were often recruited to other powers due to them being instinctually reclusive and seldom forming official kingdoms.

Note: This is all the information available about this class. If the player wishes to know more, seek the information on your own accord.]

'This… what a terrifying description. Highest affinity with the light and darkness elements? A dual affinity legacy? And with two of the strongest elements at that? Who was the Old Bastard that lightning god had spoken of?

To be able to change a person's class, and race, and give dual-element affinity. That old man was not simple,' Connor mentally marvels, unable to comprehend the level of power such a being was able to wield. Even Rank 6 Gods would not be able to create such a phenomenon.

'That lighting god did say that I was chosen to be the inheritor. I did not even know giving Legacies to people was a thing. So terrifying!!!'

To find out a bit more details about the Wearh race, Connor clicks on the race tab as well.

[Race: Wearh (King)

Description- An ancient race of significant importance throughout the universe. Once honorable and noble, a Wearh King was corrupted by an unknown force.

As the ruler of the Wearhs, he commanded them to go on a subjugation crusade under the influence of corruption.

During his reign, the entire universe was engulfed in war and flames. Blood ran through worlds as oceans ran through the Earth. His reign didn't end until the Five Races banded together with the Wearh Queen.

That period in time was recorded as the Dark Era.

At the end of the war, when all the dust had settled, the Fowl Mother fatally injured the Wearh Queen. In her last moments, the Wearh Queen used a Race Curse to protect her people.

An irreconcilable hatred was written within the blood of both the Wearhs and Fowl races' descendants, a testament to the hatred the Wearh Queen had toward the Fowl Mother. As such, a race war between the two, lasting epochs, followed soon after.

As the Wearh race is noble, they did not involve any other races in the war. However, to gain an edge, the Fowl Mother joined forces with some Elven Kings to help fight.

In the end, outnumbered, the Wearh race began a fast decline. Soon, they spread out among the various worlds of the universe to avoid being detected.

Note: All information is up-to-date. However, key details are missing. The Player must find the cause of the Wearh King's corruption.]

{A/N: The race Wearh is pronounced Were as in werewolf. It is an old name for Vampire. But, in my book, Wearh will go towards vampires and a few others.}

As soon as Connor reads the system note, a notification pops into view.

[SYSTEM: LEGENDARY REALM QUEST, CORRUPTION OF THE ELOHIMIC REALM.

QUEST DETAILS- The 3rd Wearh King was corrupted by an unknown force. This force has continued to grow stronger over the eras. One such race has given in to corruption. In this current epoch, a corruption point has formed in the Elohimic Realm.

As such, the Player is obligated to find the source of the corruption and cut off its link.

Time Remaining: 5 years and 30 days.]

A race capable of standing toe-to-toe against the Five Apex Races of Shattered Realms is simply too terrifying.

Not to mention the fact that they were able to be at war with them for an unknown period of time. There would be no doubt that it lasted at least a few millennia.

Connor's thinking immediately turned toward the Legendary Realm Quest.

'A Legendary Realm Quest just from activating a legacy artifact? My regression back to the past isn't just a simple matter of luck.

Anyways, since I'm in the Bankai Star Empire, I should be able to acquire the status of Duke fairly quickly,' Connor muses mentally.

'Let's see if—' Connor is cut off from his thoughts as he hears a trash can fall over from behind him.

Turning around, after looking at the newcomer's character name, Connor is shocked to see a person he was just thinking of trying to find… Omar the Royal Physician.

However, his current appearance is a bit… disheveled.

[Character: Omar Arkov

Job: Royal Physician

Rank: 5 (Level 140)

HP: 42,089/2,500,000 (Injured Core)

Basic Info: Omar, a royal physician of the Bankai Star Empire. Though a physician in the Convalescence class, his fame in the ability to create ways to evade danger are renowned through the surrounding empires. Thus, he was rewarded the title "Master Escapist".

During a battle between the Bankai Star Empire and the Heavens Fall Kingdom 100 years ago, Omar escaped battle but not without a serious injury to his mana core. He is currently only able to exert the strength of a Peak Rank 1 Expert. As Omar is an important figure in the Bankai Star Empire, it is recommended to restore Omar's rank and strength.]

After reading the information given by the system, Connor is a bit shocked.

Never would he have imagined that he would be given additional information on characters in the game.

Before, in the future, when a player looked at an NPC, they would not see any basic information.

Only the character's name and rank and sometimes their HP if they were engaging in battle.

Not only did it show Omar's rank and level, but in addition, it showed basic history and his job profession.

This is another groundbreaking addition his class has…

A built-in Inspection skill!!

Connor quickly shifted his thoughts to the person in front of him. He's exactly who Connor wanted to find.

Omar would give out a Quest.

The rarity of the quest itself was quite interesting. It was a special quest. These particular quests didn't have a specified difficulty attached to it.

Special Quests could be something as easy as delivering the potion to the princess or something could be as hard as killing a Legendary monster for Omar.

Despite its low popularity, its rewards were almost on par with some Epic quests and sometimes even Legendary Quests.

In Connor's case, he would have to kill a Level 50 monster while still being at only Level 0. That's why Special Quests were hardly ever taken by lower-leveled players simply because they were too unreliable.

And the guy who had taken the quest before was at Rank 1, Level 35.

The Indus Falcon is a peak Rank 1 monster. Who would be stupid enough to take on such a quest?

Connor would of course.

The game has only been active for about 20 minutes. No one would dare say that they acquired a Legacy as strong as Connor's at this moment.

"So, let me get this straight. You want me to go to Saws Forest to get what again?"

Connor was dumbstruck. To think the person in his previous life did this is mind-boggling.

"I need you to go to the forest and get me the testicles of the Indus Falcon so that I can make the elixir for the Princess," Omar the Physician repeats.

"Uh, yeah, no. I'm not going to cut off some bird's nuts. Go find someone else to do that for you," Connor says, disgust in his voice.

'No wonder that bastard didn't reveal how he acquired the Duke status. He had to cut balls!!'

"Young Warrior, please. Seeing as I cannot glean any information about your level of strength, it must mean you're far above myself. You're the only hope for the Princess.

As compensation for this unscrupulous work, I will write a letter of recommendation for you to the emperor himself.

The emperor never fails to repay a debt. I am on my last legs. This is the final gift that I can give the young princess. Will you accept my request, young warrior?"

Torn between pride and obligation, Connor reluctantly nods his head.

Once agreed, Connor receives yet another system notification.

[SYSTEM QUEST: SPECIAL QUEST, PRINCESS'S HEALTH 1

QUEST DETAILS- The Princess of the Bankai Star Empire had fallen into a state of extreme illness about 100 years ago. The diagnosis of the illness is unknown… even to Omar.

First, acquire the testes of the Indus Falcon and deliver them to Omar.

Time limit: 4 days.

Penalty: Permanent -10,000 Reputation points with the Emperor, Bankai Star Empire -100,000 reputation points, Title "Flower Destroyer".

Note: Additional rewards could be given if the Player could could complete the quest as swiftly as possible.]

Looking at the penalty if he fails, Connor gets a cold sweat. If he fails, Connor could kiss building a foundation here in the Bankai Star Empire goodbye.

Not thinking anymore, Connor reassures Omar that he will accomplish the task at hand.

He then heads to Saws Forest to completely level up. The Indus Falcon is located on a Level 50 map.

If this was the previous Connor, he wouldn't even dare to think about venturing out to a Level 5 map. Let alone a Level 50 map.

Saws Forest is a completely new world teeming with different terrain and atmospheric conditions. In all sense, it was its own unique biome.

'This won't be so bad. I guess I can think of this as an extreme version of…

Easter Egg Hunting.'
