Chapter 11 - Possessed

Seven years from now, a World War would begin.

All of the major Kingdoms and Empires of the world would face a world-ending threat that could uproot even the sturdiest of kingdoms.

At that time, people were confused about the invaders in the sky when it had broken open and the surface of the moon shown from inside.

Hundreds of thousands of soldiers poured out in an orderly fashion.

Seasoned veterans and other Rank 6 players and NPCs immediately rushed out and greeted the woman at the forefront with a crown of moon rock atop her head.

That was a mistake as several Rank 6 NPCs died in that simple greeting.

The Empress simply saw and wanted blood. Hundreds of Top Guilds and other superpowers suffered heavy losses within the following months.

If not for Guild Master Lionheart's life-saving skill being active when he dealt the last blow to the Empress, he would have for sure died and suffered Soul Annihilation.

Even then, every Guild suffered losses.

The Moon Empire was so absurdly strong that it took two of what the players called, Realm Gods, just to fight the Princess of the Empire.

Not to mention the Empress herself, every player below Rank 6 had their hands full with fighting off the Moon army.

Connor's inner monologue was cut off as a system notification appeared before him.

Feeling all the pieces forming together, Connor was extremely elated.

Whoever the idiot was that triggered this quest through some other means had truly and utterly f*cked the entire server back then.

But, alas, Connor immediately found the skeletal remains and thus bypassed any unnecessary steps to avoid World War 4.

'Ah, yes this gives me even more background into why the Evil Gods are even here sleeping. They were heavily injured. Eve is much too smart. Everything in this game is interconnected more than I ever knew possible.'

At this point, Connor had gotten another Legendary Quest.

The thought of seeing Legendary in the notification caused Joy in his heart but it won't allow him to be overjoyed like how he was before.

Connor also notices a ring on the Fallen Prince's left hand.

He goes to grab the Fallen Prince's hand with Vibrant Mitigation but is met with bone-chilling mental pressure.

To his surprise, the Fallen Prince's skeleton begins to glow a vibrant yellow.

Then, with lightning-fast speeds, an apparition of a young man appears before Connor and flies into his body.

Suddenly, his body begins to lose motor functions as the invasion of a more powerful being takes control.

'No!! I'm being possessed. F*ck. Why is the Prince trying to take over my body?'

Numerous thoughts pass through Connor's mind as his body is 90% uncontrolled.

[Your avatar has been possessed. Sending Player Nebula's soul to protected space.]

"Ah, after 10,000 years I'm free. Time to conquer the Surface," a voice says in a foreign language, one that Connor had never heard before.

"This… this body hasn't even gone under the first Transition and yet it's already on par with a middle-stage Conscript. Just what bloodline did this body acquire? The Lunar Father has truly blessed me this time. Mayb—"

The voice is soon interrupted as a darkness that lurks deep within Connor expands and engulfs the yellow soul of the Fallen Prince.

The Prince's mind was soon transported to a dark place devoid of any light.

Surprising him, a ginormous being as tall if not taller than 2000m suddenly appeared within the dark space.

He is currently sitting on a throne made of many skeletal bones of various Legendary monsters. Even some humanoid skulls could be seen.

To make the scene before the Prince even more horrifying, two wolves, one black and the other white, with a height of at least 1000m when on all fours sit at the giant's left and right respectively.

The visage of the gigantic being himself was beastly but fiendish. He was a mix of a human, a wolf, and possibly a bat.

The prince could not tell as he was too occupied with thinking of a way to persuade the being to let him live.

The pressure he gave off was diabolical and… holy?

It was as though one could get close to the man but not too close as he would rip your head off.

A piercing gaze locks the Fallen Prince where he stands. Indivisible tendrils snake their way over his soul form.

"Ant, you dare to possess my vessel? You've got some nerves," the giant man speaks to the prince. His voice was a mixture between a grunt and a hiss.

It was very animal-like.

"No, I dare not, Your Eminence. Had I known you were here, I wouldn't have even thought about it. Please… spare my life. I wish to go home," the Fallen Prince hurriedly replies, head bowed with his left hand outstretched.

"Hm… your tongue? What is it? Lunarian?" Ignoring his pleas for forgiveness, the giant being asks the prince a question.

"I— yes I am Lunarian, Your Eminence."

Nodding his head, the giant speaks, "Ah, yes I figured you were. If I am not mistaken, I had traded a few blows with your Ancestor."

If the soul form of the Prince's face could pale, then one would visibly see him pale several times.

'What? It's him? The being in which the Ancestor could not even last two blows against?'

At this point, the Fallen Prince is completely terrified.

"Your Eminence, hearing that you've met and traded blows with my ancestor, then that means we are not enemies. Could you let me off this once?"

Looking as though he was thinking, the giant just shrugs.

"Depends on what you're going to offer as compensation. My… descendant is pretty devastated at this moment."

After rummaging through his brain at what he could offer to the mighty being in front of him, the prince concluded that nothing could be offered to him.

However, the descendant could be given something valuable.

"Would my ring suffice? With the items stored within, your descendent would have no problem achieving Rank 6."

The Prince prayed these words would suffice and soothe this being's irrational ire. The Prince's ancestor wanted to never cross that being.

"Alright. That will do. I'll be sending you out. Oh, and do not speak of our conversation to anyone. Understood?"

Showing that he understood, the prince nods his head profusely.

"Good. Out you go now."

With that said, the scenery changes as the price is now back within Connor's body.

Immediately acting, the prince grabs the ring with Vibrant Mitigation. To his surprise, the ring merges with the metal of Vibrant Mitigation.

Now, the middle knuckle on the arm shield's hand has a shimmering greyish moon rock embedded in it.

"This is incredible. An armament capable of absorbing other equipment is simply heaven-defying. Where did you get this?"

The prince asks but receives no response.

"That's right. You're in 'that' space. I'm going to give you your body back. One thing you should know before I go into deep slumber, you will not be able to use the storage ring until you're Rank 4.

You also have to be mentally strong enough to handle the strain of utilizing Lunarian crafts. Don't bring me out until you've returned me home."

The Prince's apparition vanishes back inside the skeleton.

"F*cking hell. Get back here b*tch!!"

Connor yells at the skeleton as soon as he regains control of his body.

Connor was fuming. He had been violated in the most shaming way for any sentient being.

Possession was considered taboo in the future. And whatever being tried possessing a player would be met with the ire of the entire player base.

Whatever the reason was for the prince changing his mind about possessing Connor's body, he did not mind at all.

Today has been a joyous one no doubt.

'I completed a Special quest, didn't have to cut any testicles, and got possessed. Indus is defeated, and a quest is earned. Everything is perfectly balanced…

As it should be.'
