LOGAN'S POV
As I sat in my office, a familiar devil from my past reappeared in my life. My thoughts raced with frustration, and I vowed not to take it lightly this time. Concentration eluded me; my mind was a jumble.
I'd endured countless hardships at the hands of that wretched family. I'd tasted suffering, endured pain, and weathered heartbreak. When I needed my wife the most, she had betrayed me, aligning herself with her wicked father and his conniving cabinet. I felt abandoned among malevolent souls. If I hadn't been raised differently, I might have sought vengeance in their blood.
Now, she was returning, and I couldn't help but wonder why. Did I owe her something? She'd been clear that she wanted nothing to do with me. I had remained silent during her last encounter with me, still reeling from the shock. But her audacity had stirred something within me. The next time she crossed my path, she'd witness a different side of me.
