Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Would You Like To Dance?

As the night arrived, the whole kingdom was shadowed in a velvety darkness. The shine of the castle did not go down with it but increased even further.

Since it was the day of the banquet, the whole kingdom was covered in special decorations which highlighted everyone's mood.

At the banquet, there will be an announcement at the end of it. This announcement piqued everyone's curiosity.

In the heart of the kingdom, the castle was shining like a moon in a dark night. Everyone was busy with their own work. The servants were preparing for the event.

They were gossiping while working about Aiden's awakening, how he awakened his powers before the twins, who were born first.

" Do you think they will remain powerless? What would happen to them if they do not awaken any power?" Asked one of the servants as he passed the basket of Flowers in his hands to the other guy.

" Who knows, not like we can talk about these things. You should not talk about it so openly too." The other servant swiftly took the basket and started arranging the flowers in a skillful manner.

Among one of those decorated rooms was a room that was lit in warm light, not too bright, not too dark.

The room was spacious enough to hold a small gathering, yet the room was a bedroom for the two people that were the topic of discussion for the day.

Luna stood at one end of the room near an open window, bathed in the warm, yet calm moonlight.

Her dress, a deep shade of midnight blue, flowed around her like a river of silk.

The delicate strands of her hair framed her face, and her eyes sparkled with a mixture of anticipation and desire.

Even though she was 10 years old, her beauty had already started to blossom. Her figure was already more mature and grown than her peers.

Feeling a warm gaze on herself she turned to look at the boy that just exited the bathroom and was now looking at her.

Keiran had grown too, his height exceeded hers by a few inches, his facial features turned sharp and he had matured.

He is still a stark copy of his twin sister. Looking at Keiran and matching his warm eyes, a small smile graced her face.

"Will we awaken our powers today?" Her voice laced with concern as she asked the question weighing her mind.

" Don't worry Luna, we have Ether inside of us, which means we will definitely awaken the power, one way or another." Keiran approached Luna and gently took her in his arms.

He caressed her hair with his hand as he kissed her forehead. He eased  her worries that were clouding her mind.

[Host is right Miss Luna, It's all about the right timing now. You have done your best in these years. So just let nature take its course.]

"I know, it's just I want to gain the power to defend ourselves as soon as possible. After watching those battles in the arena that day made me realize how much we need power to survive." Luna's eyes excluded cold light as she spoke those words.

Her hands clenched around Keiran's shirt as she leaned into his chest to rest her face on it.

Listening to Luna's words Keiran sighed as he also remembered the battle they witnessed that day.

"Do you wanna attend the banquet?" Keiran tried to change the topic. He already knew the answer but he still wanted to ask her.

" No, I hate those people and their gaze whenever they look at us." Luna shook her head in his arms cutely as she spoke.

Chuckling, he patted her back as he separated from her. "Change into the dress I bought for you, I'll change into mine. Meet me at the ballroom where we used to practice."

Luna showed a puzzled look, " Why, I don't want to attend the banquet. So what's the point?"

"Although we don't wanna attend the banquet, there's no need to spoil our fun, right? While they have their party and try to find us, we will have our own party there."

They never liked secrets, seeing everyone hiding one thing or another just did not sit right with them. This is the reason Keiran tells her everything and the same goes for her. This time however he didn't explain anything in detail and only gave a vague answer.

Luna nodded her head "Sure, I'll be there as soon as I can. I don't wanna meet anyone else anyway."

He moved towards the closet and took out a large black bag. The bag was a suit cover as took the suit and moved towards the door.

As he opened the door, his steps halted for a second as he turned to look at her for one last time.

His eyes were devoid of light which made his moon like white eyes to look even more beautiful.  " No one's ever gonna hurt you, they will have to go through me, no matter what happens after our awakening."

Saying this he exited the room and gently closed the door leaving Luna there alone with a gentle yet love filled smile on her face

"Me too~~, I will Kill whoever tries to harm you dear~."

Looking at the closed door her eyes turned hollow as if they could suck everything inside of them.

As the time passed, the time of the banquet arrived. Keiran stood in the practice ballroom as he looked around the empty hall.

He reminisced about his past in this place, how they learned to dance, sometimes even escape the eyes of others and spend their time alone.

His gaze turned upwards as he saw the moon was about to reach the peak through the glass roof of the room. The moon was hazy due to the fog that still remained in the sky.

As he was silently gazing at the moon, he heard the clicking of the door catching his attention. He turned to look at the person that just arrived.

His eyes widened as his heartbeat sped up at a very fast rate.

Luna stepped inside the ballroom dressed in a black dress that exuded an air of timeless elegance and sophistication.

The gown, crafted from the finest silk, hugged her form in all the right places, emphasizing her graceful figure.

The dress featured very fine and meticulous detailing that added to its royal allure.

A delicate lace bodice, adorned with shimmering black sequins created an illusion of celestial stars against a midnight sky.

The high neckline and long sleeves lent an air of modesty and regal poise.

A cinched waist, embellished with a silver sash, accentuated Luna's slender figure and added a touch of opulence to the ensemble.

The dress flowed gracefully to the floor, pooling around her feet like a silken waterfall, its hem adorned with ornate patterns that caught the candlelight's flickering glow.

Complementing the dress she was wearing silver earrings and a necklace set which was slim yet so elegant.

Looking at Keiran, she froze too as she saw Keiran in his white three piece suit, his long black hair flowing on the suit screamed royalty.

The suit jacket was a beautiful, bright white and had shiny gold buttons with the royal crest on them. The jacket had wide lapels, giving him an elegant and gentleman-like look .

Underneath the jacket, he wore a white waistcoat that was designed with fancy silver and golden designs. The waistcoat's buttons were made of shiny mother-of-pearl.

On the silky silver white shirt he was wearing was a neatly tied silk tie. To complement the suit he was wearing a pair of shoes that had hints of golden and white color.

They looked at each other for a long time, time seemed to have stopped for them.

They just have each other in their world. No~ They were the world of each other.

Keiran approached her as his eyes stayed locked with hers. Moving his hand towards her cheeks, he rubbed his fingers on them and whispered

"Beautiful~~~"

Luna's eyes seemed to have turned a little misty as she also mirrored the similar action and spoke with the same tone "You look even more handsome, brother."

Taking his hand away from her face he took a step back, confusing her at first. He extended his hand elegantly with a small bow clearing Luna's confusion.

" Would you like to dance?"

"I would love to" She replied with a small bow of her own, taking the hand as a smile made its way to her face. Keiran pressed the button in his pocket, his hand intertwined with hers.

Without a word, the music began—a hauntingly beautiful melody that filled the room and wrapped around them like a comforting embrace.

The soft piano notes resonated with their souls, setting the stage for a dance that transcended mere movement.
