She sat down after her prayers then took out a poem, she wrote about the ashen one and the pitiful souls known as the Lords of Cinder. Entertainment was still abundant, but she still prefers the 'old-school' way. The poem goes;
The Lords Of Cinder
Rise from your grave
Oh, being of ash
Your destiny awaits
The one true call
The cycle repeats
The cinders you hunt
To link the flames and
Cure the unkindled
The Lords Of Cinder
Once proud on their thrones
Betrayed their own cause
Corrupted their souls
Return their ashes
Accept their mantle
Repair this world or
See darkness reign down
Soldiers of the wolf
In constant battle
Reach within themselves
To fight the abyss
But their legion will
Makes them one and all
They lost sight of
What they were meant to fight
The giant Lord hides
Deep under the ground
The grief consumed
Left an insane shell
Forsaken his shield
He wills his own death
At the hand of a friend
Ruler of storms
Devourer Of Gods
Leader of the Deep
Sits high in sunlight
By a princess throne
He casts the darkness
Consumed the Darkmoon
Imbibe the last screams
Taste the end of life
Cursed Prince Lothric
With his wounded kin
Bred for perfection
Born sick weak and frail
Refused the mantle
Eschewed his fate
Lothric dreamed of death
Welcomed it with arms
The dark eyes will show
The grand betrayal
Give sight to the blind
O'things I should not see
The sliver of light
A frightful image
A world without fire
A world plunged dark
Ashen One seek cinders
The soul in the Kiln
Five souls converge and
Create a beast true
Burning the first flame
In Gwyn's memory
Cast the Soul down and
Relink the flames
But what is your goal
To betray the world?
The darkness is coming
The world becomes cold
Ashen one, I see
You have made your choice
Farewell, mayst thou
Thy peace discov'r
She just finished writing her poem when a voice was heard right behind her. "How's your life here?", asked Fury as he seemed to appear out of nowhere.
It might have surprised some young souls but not her. Using the powers granted to her by the first flame, she was easily to sense when he was here.
The only reason she did not call him might be because she did not wish to show her capabilities or perhaps because the way he was crouching behind the wall and running out when he thought she wasn't looking was a tad bit humorous for her.
She could not contain her smile as she saw him, "I offer thee my sincerest gratitude for the humble abode thou had granted me. It was a boring yet pleasant life though I could not say the same for other people."
"You have everything you want? Do you not want anything else?", Fury continued as if it was an interrogation.
"I assure thee that all my wishes hath been fulfilled and have no need for further desires.", she replied causing the director of S.H.I.E.L.D to raise an eyebrow.
"You may not have anything you wish for but, I would like to tell you about something. Something great.", continued Fury.
"Pray, do tell my dear gentleman.", the firekeeper tilted her head and 'looked' at Fury. She knew they would want something back from her.
Nobody works for nothing unless they were forced or had a greater cause. An organization as large as S.H.I.E.L.D was sure not to have a common goal of helping refugees from a dead world. Payment for this debt was sure to follow.
"There are people like you out there in the universe. Powerful beings almost everywhere. S.H.I.E.L.D is not just a simple government organization, it is an organization formed by combining the most powerful countries on our planet.
To protect humanity. To have a fighting chance against the unknown. To battle aliens, wizards or gods. And to do this we need the supernatural beings, powerful people and geniuses all over the world. We need you to join our team.", said Fury while looking straight at her.
His eye not wavering in the slightest judging her every gesture.
"Hath no worries, my dear Fury. I shall join thy organization as long as everything that comes out of thy mouth holds truth to them.", she assured him.
She was not sure whether his words would hold true in the future. She could sense he was telling truth right now. But the future is something not certain.
In truth, she has no wish to join any 'protecting' organization however she has a debt to be paid and it will be paid whether in the forms of blood or services. She has a good impression of S.H.I.E.L.D as they tried to make her life better.
They were not the ones who allowed her into this world. She could sense another being who let her into this world.
A being whose might is only second to that of Lords like Gwyn. A being perhaps on equal terms with Seath the Scaleless.
However, it was S.H.I.E.L.D who took her in and she will continue her service to them as long as they hold true in their purpose. She would leave the moment they try to use her for other 'bad' purposes.
Fury looked at her for a while in silence and picked a file from his coat and hand it over to her.
"There was an idea ...", he started, "... called the 'Avengers'. A group of people brought together to fight battles we could not. And I believe it is time to start our plan. We are in need of your help.
A god called Loki has invaded Earth and we have every reason to believe that there is an army behind him. You will be needed. Especially your fire, which I noticed, have very strong destructive capabilities."
