"Excuse me, but did you just mention that you have no idea what English or New York is?", the man continued asking in a tone that might implied he was sarcastic.
"The fact that mine ear has never heard of such words is surely not a jest. Hath thine ears ever been graced with the words such of Anor Londo or the fire link shrine?".
She appears to be getting used to the strange accent spoken by a stranger man speaking strange words she has never heard of. The man went silent and left without saying a single word.
She was confused but then other people dressed in similar fashion came and told her to follow along. She noticed for the first time that she was not wearing her usual clothes but wearing a white garment with patterns.
She does not believe that she was back in her homeland due to strange customs and furniture all around her. A door made of glass, seems like a useless device to her. However, it was more pleasing to her eyes than the wares made back home. 'The wares made back home?', she thought to herself. She had not seen light since her eyes were plugged out when she was but a mere child.
They sent her in a room covered with walls. They did not spoke a word the entire way. The loud shutting of the door finally left her alone with her thoughts. She simply sat down on her chair without doing anything. She now had nothing but time to dwell in her own thoughts.
She thought about how she would wait for the ashen one in this same exact position. She desperately wished that he came back but also wished that he would never come back. Every time he came back, she would have company.
It was simply contenting to be by his side. She also loved spinning around in front of him while he sat down and drank. He would also made different poses that would cause her to giggle. Oh, how eccentric yet lovable was he.
At the same time, she would wish that he never came back for the fact that most of the time he came back requires her to treat the dark sigil or when he died a horrible death in the hands of a monster. She would never see him again but that was for the best. He deserved his eternal rest after suffering and dying countless times in a circle of rebirth.
While she was wondering, she tried to summon the flame. The flame she summoned whenever she assists the ashen one in her own way. But she found out that, she couldn't. But she clearly felt the connection to the flames. It was stronger than ever. She then felt it deeper again and found the reason she could not summon the flame.
This is because she has no need to summon it. She was the flame. Though there was little change in her expression, her inner heart was in a turmoil. 'Is it mine fault that caused the flame to be burned out?', she thought to herself before denying it.
She could sense that the little sentience gained by flame did not exist. It had merged with her. All the powerful souls that were sacrificed to the flame were now one with her. Of course, this did not mean that she could use the abilities of these pitiful yet mighty souls. It only allowed her flames to burn brighter and hotter.
Her intuition also instinctively knew how to use these flames. She could burn down anyone, could defend anyone and heal anyone. How she knew this information, she has no idea but the idea was equal to knowing how one would move their arms and legs. You don't have to think too hard. You simply know how to do it.
She willed herself into her old clothes. The new clothes burned down but not before being replaced by her older ones. Her new clothes were not bad, but she was more comfortable in her old ones. As she was pondering with her thoughts, a woman with red hair came in.
She was shorter than her but carries herself with confidence.
"Hi, I'm Nat. It's nice to meet you." It seems like a nickname rather than an actual name to her but she herself held the name of firekeeper, so she was not to judge on the short name.
"It is a pleasure fair dame. May I know the reason thee has arrived to have a conversation with me.", she simply asked in return.
The red-haired lady shrugged her shoulders she took a chair and sat right in front of her. "In simple terms, we found that a lady appears out of nowhere after a fire alarm went off.
We tried to get her blood and DNA, but every small piece separated from your body would end up burning. Can you tell me why that is?". She was confused on what DNA was, but she understood the term blood. She wondered if it is for a curse.
The firekeeper has never been a subject of curse but she had been beside a victim of a curse of years.
"Do not worry, fair dame. Thy suspicion art not unfounded and thy party hath no reason to fear me. The flame is but one of my abilities. I was a firekeeper back in my land although mine ability hold similarities to that of a pyromancer.".
"Wait, firekeeper is a job and not your name? Also, why are talking about pyromancers like they're normal?".
"The word fire keeper is both mine name and job. Art pyromancers frowned upon these lands, fair dame?", she asked again as there were regions where certain professions were frowned upon.
"There are no pyromancers here.", replied Nat. This sends both of them into a spiral of confusion.
