The small slam of a door wafted through the room, faintly echoing off the glorified painting lining the walls. A couple cigars trembled at the minor disturbance while their seated owners cast side-eyed glances at the new arrival.
At the head of the lone, long table sat an unblinking man in regal attire.
His haughty nature was all too evident; from his gold-buckled shoes, up his scarlet pantaloons, past his gold-striped and crimson ascot, all the way to his red velvet crown adorned with gold and jewels galore.
"It's about time you joined us, Great Warrior," the arrogant man grimaced.
In casual attire, the new entrant brushed his open robe back with a brief, open-eyed bow. "Forgive my tardiness, Your Highness. I came as soon as you sent for me."
"Hm… a true noble of Wissal would be eager to share in news and events," the king remarked.
