"I know I am not supposed to be the one saying this, but somehow I am the one saying it. I am here to officially say I am sorry daddy. I am indeed sorry for all the pains that I've caused you. I never believed that God need anything good out of you. But I saw him do it right before my very eyes and I was so bitter.
I thought God was unfair. I felt he was good to you and wicked to me. I felt god went ahead to bless you and curse me. I felt so unloved and unwanted. But thank God I have finally found the light of Jesus and I can boldly say, I am born again."
Kayla went down on her knees before her dad. You rushed her angel done to her face but she forced herself to her knees.
"Kayla, I'm supposed to be the one kneeling down. I just can't stand all the evil I did in the past stop Anyway, the word of God had taught me that I was not the one that did it.
It was the old me and that old me has been buried in Christ. So I stand here to testify that I am a new creation just like you." Kayla said on her knees before her Dad.
I felt like I was dreaming. Kayla looked like an impossible nut to crack. It was completely overwhelming to see her bow to the Lordship of Jesus, right before your very eyes.
I stood up to lift her, but her dad also went on his knees before her. Ella, beckoned on me to sit down and allow them express themselves. Segun was a man, if not, I would I have said he had tears in his eyes. Men don't cry, right? I was only asking oooo.
"Kayla, I allowed tye devil to find expression through me. I gave him the opportunity he was looking for. I made myself a slave to his bidding and you were the innocent recipient of my yes to the devil. I am also here to day, I am so sorry for all the pain I have caused you."
Father and daughter hugged each other, weeping. We the onlookers, also had tears in our eyes.
Segun began to sing.
"Jesus is the answer,
For the world today.
Above him there's no other.
Jesus is the way."
I flashed a smile at him which he returned.
"Juliet, I was so bitter. I thought forgiving a wicked man was weakness. I thought God's way was too soft and was a display of foolishness. But ever since I said yes to God, I have been the most happiest man on earth. I have joy unspeakable. I have peace unexplainable. I have, I have... I don't know how to explain what I have."
We all burst into laughter.
Mr Adebayo stood up and looked at the 3 of us sitting on the couch.
"I have never seen these girls before, who are they?"
"They are my sisters. These are mummy's children. The dark skinned one is Ella and the fair skinned one, like myself is Susan.
"That's awesome! Nice to meet you both," he said and stretched his hand for a handshake.
"I'm so glad, you have agreed to allow Jesus find expression through you. Imagine what would have happened to me and my family if you had been lazy with your spiritual lives?
What do you think would have happened to us?
Juliet! There are so many problems going on right now, whose messiah is one lazy believer out there.
Imagine if Joseph did not take his relationship with God seriously? Imagine if Joseph had fornicated with Portiphar's wife? One thing would be certain, he would never have become who God said you become. And when the seven years of famine would come, everybody will be asking God why?
Not knowing that God is already screaming Joseph why? That's the truth about life. Many God why questions, are products of a Christian that failed his generation.
Remember when Jesus was on earth, he said that I must do the works of him that sent me while it is day the night is coming when no man can work. When his disciples saw a man who was born blind, they asked him who committed sin. Was it the man or was it the man's parents?
And Jesus, through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost answered this question. He told them the man did not sin neither did his parents sin. But God kept them in this terrible condition just to display his power. He went further to say as long as I am in this world, I am the light of the world.
Now, imagine if Jesus had not grown in his spiritual life to the point where he carried the power of God?
Remember, there was a time Jesus was in the wilderness and the devil came to offer him the whole world. Imagine if Jesus had jumped for that offer? Imagine if he had run off with the devil to enjoy the pleasures of the world? Remember, the man was born blind awaiting the arrival of Jesus.
Now I need you to understand something. God will not see because Jesus did not manifest his destiny, therefore this man will automatically receive healing.
Never such a thing will never happen. There will be no magical healing. That man was placed in that condition because God wanted to use him to prove his power in the ministry of Jesus. So he was placed in that condition because of Jesus ministry. So if Jesus was playing with his destiny, he would not only be playing with his destiny. He will be playing with the lives of those tied to his destiny."
"Wow! This is a great message!" I said nodding my head.
"I'm so sorry mentor Juliet. Please feel free to interrupt and correct me if I'm saying anything outside the Bible. I may be older than you physically but I am not older than you spiritually. I know it sounds embarrassing to say, but you are a mentor to me. And I am not ashamed to tell the whole world that God used this little girl for me."
I felt like the ground should open and swallow me the way this man honoured me in the presence of everyone.
"Please sir I'm just a teenager."
"You can say whatever you want to say but you cannot change what is already in my heart towards you. The Bible says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. What I just told you is what is in my heart."
"Daddy, are you saying that God has a ministry for me?" Kayla asked.
"Not a ministry exactly, a plan for your life. I mean I don't want to jump into conclusions. I know Juliet here would be a minister of God, that is certain. But I'm yet to find out if you will become a minister. But I believe God will do amazing things through you," he said with a broad smile on his face.
"Are you saying that God will use a sinner like me?"
"You are not a sinner. Immediately you asked the Holy Ghost to come into your life he cleansed you. Right now, you have new life in Christ. You are no longer the singer you once were. The word of God says that if any man be in Christ he is a new creature. Old things are passed away and all things are become new.
So never again you call yourself a sinner. Your sins have been taken away and they have been washed by the blood of Jesus. They do not exist anymore. The only thing that exist now is the righteousness of God that has been imputed into you.
So please, stop referring to yourself as a sinner. That is not who you are. Although that's who you were, but not anymore."
"You said something. You said I asked for the Holy Spirit to come into my life. Are you sure that is what I asked for? Because I remembered I asked for Jesus, not the Holy Spirit. Why were you saying that was the one that entered me?"
"I knew there was some explaining to do. Can you please sit down?"
She sat down and I begin to explain to her that you can't get born again without the Holy Ghost in you. I also began to tell her the difference between the baptism of the Holy Ghost and receiving the Holy Ghost when you get born again.
"Wait are you saying that I have the Holy Ghost in me, but I'm not baptized in him?"
"Exactly!"
"So, I am incomplete? I'm not a complete believer?"
"No you are a complete believer, is just that....."
"Just that what? Just that God will not want me to be complete because of my terrible past?"
"No! Stop bringing up your terrible past. You are no longer that person you used to be," Ella said.
"So when am I going to be complete? When am I going to be filled with the Holy Spirit?"
"You need to spend some time to grow spiritually and study God's word......"
"Now!" I interrupted.
"Excuse me?"
"I mean now!"
"Now?" Kayla asked.
"Yes now!"
"What are we waiting for? Let's get this done."
"Juliet!" Ella whispered my name, tapping me gently.
"Ella! Let's allow God move," I whispered back.
"What about me? Can I? You never told me about the baptism of the Holy Ghost?" Segun asked.
"Me too!" Mr Adebayo concurred.
"I'm sorry about that, but now you all know, are you ready for the outpouring of the Holy Ghost?"
"Yes!" They all answered.
"Holy Ghost! Baptize them in the name of Jesus!"
Kayla went on her knees and began to pray in whispers.
"The word of God says if any man thirst, let him come to me. You're hungry! Come to Jesus? He will fill you with the Holy Ghost!"
I was still talking when Kayla burst into tongues. We were all shocked by how she got the baptism in a jiffy.
"THAT'S HUNGER JULIET! HOW DESPERATE YOU WANT SOMETHING WILL DETERMINE HOW FAST IT WILL COME. BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, FOR THEY SHALL BE FILLED."
"Lord make me hungry for more of you! I prayed within me.
Suddenly, Mr Adebayo burst into tongues and fell to the ground. Segun's eyes were closed and he kept praying, but nothing happened to him. I wanted to lay my hands on him to minister the baptism on him, but daddy told me not to do so.
Father and daughter continued blasting in tongues on the floor, while Segun was praying in words at his little corner. I felt maybe God didn't want him to be filled yet.
"NO! BUT HE'S THINKING THE UTTERANCE THAT IS COMING TO HIS HEART IS THE WORKING OF A DEMON, SO HE'S AFRAID TO OPEN HIS MOUTH. RIGHT NOW, THERE'S AN UTTERANCE GOING ON IN HIS HEART. HE'S HEARING TONGUES IN HIS SPIRIT RIGHT NOW, BUT HES SCARED.
MANY BELIEVERS FAIL TO RECEIVE THE BAPTISM BECAUSE OF FEAR. MANY WILL SAY, WHAT IF THE TONGUES STOP FLOWING? SO MANY ASSUMPTIONS AND THIS HAS BLOCKED THE MOVE OF THE SPIRIT IN THE HEARTS OF MANY BELIEVERS."
"Daddy please, show mercy!"
