Chapter 35 - Chapter 649 - 650: Appear and Disappear; Stealing Scoundrels.

Keresys Slytherin, who is this?

Ron blinked, then saw the name blur before him, twist and disappear, completely gone.

It was like it had never existed; it was all an illusion.

Ron hadn't waited for his eyes to move away, and the next second, Snape suddenly appeared in his office.

He stayed for a moment, then directly turned around and left the basement towards the foyer.

Snape ran as fast as he could, as if he were running after someone, and happened to run into Evan and Hermione, who had just slipped into the castle.

Ron's eyes stayed there, and moved to Snape's office for a long moment of hesitation.

It was strange; was the Marauders Map?

He had an impression of the name Keresis that appeared and disappeared just now as if he had heard it somewhere before

Ron immediately thought that it was the name of the vampire who had attacked at the Quidditch World Cup.

The week after the World Cup, the newspaper was full of reports about his deeds and capture.

He remembered Evan saying that those vampires were now working for Voldemort and were very evil dark wizards.

Ron's blood turned cold, his breathing quickened, and his body trembled uncontrollably.

The vampire being hunted by the Ministry of Magic sneaked into the castle; what did he want to do!

Also, why was he in Snape's office? Did the two of them have something to do with each other?

Ron felt like he had caught something; he, like Harry, thought Snape was in trouble.

What he had just seen seemed to prove it; could it be that Snape was secretly consorting with Voldemort and the vampires?

Ron held his breath and subconsciously looked for Dumbledore's name, but the other party was not in the office.

Immediately after that, Ron thought of the crazy-eyed man Moody; Moody is the strongest Auror.

Moody is the strongest Auror. In this matter, there is nothing wrong with looking for him!

However, when Ron's eyes moved to the office of the third-floor Defense of the Dark Arts class professor, he actually saw Barty Crouch!

His name was on the fireplace in Moody's office.

Of course, Mad-Eye Moody was also in his office, and they seemed to be chatting some distance apart.

Ron couldn't believe his eyes, rubbing them hard, staring intently at the two dots.

God, the Marauders Map must be broken!

In the middle of the night, he first saw a horrible vampire appear in Snape's office.

Now, he saw Mad-Eye Moody hosting Barty Crouch in his office!

He remembered what Percy had said on Christmas Day.

Mr. Crouch was too sick to go to work or the Christmas dance.

But what was he doing at Hogwarts in the middle of the night, after everyone had gone to bed?

Ron guessed that Crouch must have come here through the Flyway powder. Otherwise, his name couldn't have appeared in the fireplace.

But why? It didn't make sense.

A sick person who couldn't go to work went to Hogwarts through the Flyway to meet with Moody, the professor of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

Considering the time of day, this kind of thing is very strange no matter how you look.

It was so strange that just thinking about it was unbelievable!

Mr. Crouch, who has always been strict, disciplined, and law-abiding, would come to Hogwarts in the middle of the night to secretly meet with Moody alone.

No matter what important things he had to say to Moody, this was not in line with Crouch's character.

If Percy had known about this, he would have been amazed at Crouch's behavior!

Ron looked at the dot and was just about to remind Harry to look when the name Barty Crouch disappeared.

As had just happened in Snape's office, had the vampire Keresis left through the flyway network?

"What the hell is going on?!" Ron gasped, squinted his eyes, and stared at the Marauders Map, feeling that his brain was difficultly processing the information.

In his opinion, the map was definitely broken!

He saw the names of two people tonight, and they were destined not to appear in the castle.

If he told what happened just now, Harry probably wouldn't believe it, and would definitely think he was crazy!

When he came to his senses and noticed where they were, Ron said hurriedly, "Harry, we'd better not go into the foyer!"

By this time, they had made it to the second floor without realizing it!

"Why?" Harry asked, looking at Ron suspiciously, feeling as if he was going weird.

"It's the Marauders Map; I'm on it." Ron paused momentarily and said what he had just seen in one breath, not caring if Harry believed it, "I know it's unbelievable, but I did see both of their names."

"Keresys and Barty Crouch?!" Harry said, coming over as well, "You're probably blind!"

"Probably!" Ron said, rubbing his eyes and sighing, "I'm probably too stressed out after finding out about the second event. Anyway, we can't go down there now. Snape's down there right now, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that!"

"Yeah, it looks like he's got Evan and Hermione!" Harry said worriedly, "They're so unlucky!"

"Ran right into Snape running out of the basement, and I don't know why he was in such a hurry."

"I don't know, Evan's always been very vigilant; I didn't think Snape would find out! You're right, Ron. We can't go over there now; go back inside the common room and wait for the two of them. Hopefully, they won't be punished too harshly!"

Ron nodded, trying not to think about vampires and Barty Crouch.

Like Harry's reaction, no one would believe such unthinkable things if they were told.

Harry and Ron walked down the stairs of the west tower and took a different route.

They tiptoed as far as they could towards the main central staircase, trying not to make a sound.

But several people in the portrait heard the creaking of the floorboards and the rustle of his pajamas and turned their faces in curiosity.

At that moment, they were in a hallway on the second floor.

Harry and Ron stopped sharply as if they could hear Snape's growl from inside the foyer, which was horrible.

The people inside the portrait heard Snape's growl and ran toward the first-floor foyer.

Harry secretly prayed for Evan and Hermione, and while he had the chance, he and Ron quickly headed for the main staircase.

Both of them were a bit distracted at this point, glancing at the Marauders Map occasionally.

As a result, one of Harry's legs suddenly sank into a tricky step halfway up the stairs.

It was one Neville often forgot to skip, and he wiggled it clumsily.

The golden egg, still wet with bathwater, suddenly slipped from under his arm.

Harry rushed to grab it, but it was too late!

The egg rolled down the long flight of stairs, and each step made a loud thud, like the beating of a drum.

Thud, thud, thud.

The golden egg rolled to the bottom of the stairs, burrowed underneath the tapestry, bounced off, and began to scream shrilly in the hallway below.

"Oh no, it will wake everyone in the castle!" Harry said, "Hurry up, Ron, get it back!"

His feet were still sunk knee-deep in the mischievous steps. His legs couldn't be pulled out, and he could only urge Ron anxiously.

"No, someone's coming; we can't go over there!" Ron said in a panic, just two steps away, and quickly ran back.

He re-wrapped himself and Harry in his invisibility cloak, and the two of them stood stiffly in the middle of the stairs, listening with fear and trepidation.

Almost in the blink of an eye, they heard someone shout, "Scoundrels!"

It was, no doubt, the alert cry of Felch, the janitor.

His rapid, kicking footsteps could be heard approaching, his panting voice raised angrily.

"What's all the racket going on here? Want to wake up the castle? I'm going to get you, Peeps, I'm going to get you. Huh, what's this?"

Filch's footsteps stopped, and with a puzzled look, he picked up the golden egg and closed it.

There was a click, metal hitting each other, and the screaming stopped!

Harry and Ron stood motionless, one of Harry's feet still stuck in the enchanted step.

At any moment, Filch would lift the tapestry, expecting to see a pipsqueak, but there was no one.

If he headed up the stairs, he might find Harry and Ron.

"Golden egg?!" Filch whispered from the bottom of the stairs, "My precious cat, it's a clue to the Triwizard Tournament; it belongs to one of the school's warriors! Ah, I see, Scoundrels, you stole!"

His voice rose sharply with suppressed joy.

He ripped the tapestry from underneath him, and Harry and Ron could see his horrible, flabby-fleshed face and those bulging, light-colored eyes glaring upward at the dark, empty staircase.

Harry's heart was beating like a drum, and Ron's eyes widened, and he swallowed hard.

"Hiding, are we?!" Filch whispered, "I'm coming to get you, Scoundrels; you actually stole the clue to the Triwizard Tournament. Dumbledore won't let you off lightly this time, you dirty, thieving prankster."

Filch began to climb the stairs, followed by his scrawny, dark gray cat.

Madame Loris's large bulbous eyes, identical to her owner's, were now staring at Harry and Ron with a deadly glare.

Harry's back was covered in a cold sweat; he had suspected before that invisibility cloaks didn't work on cats.

He fainted with fear as he watched Filch, dressed in an old facecloth robe, inch closer and closer.

He struggled desperately to get his stuck foot out, only to sink deeper and deeper.

Ron, too, had been stunned and stood still as if he were a wax statue.

Now, at any moment, Filch could have walked over and crashed into him and Ron.

"What's going on, Filch?!"

Filch stopped and turned around, at which point he was only a few steps away from Harry and Ron.

Snape grimaced at the bottom of the stairs, his chest heaving violently and his wand gripped tightly as if he had just run up.

Beside him were Evan and Hermione!

Evan had just climbed up from the lake, and Hermione rushed over and hugged herself.

She didn't care that Evan's body was wet and full of water; she hugged him tightly and never wanted to let go.

She had just stared at the dark lake outside, waiting for hours, afraid that Evan would have some accident.

Especially this last hour or so, Hermione is simply suffering; Evan went down for too long.

If it wasn't for the fact that there was no way to breathe underwater, she even wanted to go in and look for Evan.

Whether it was the Bubble Head spell or Human Transfiguration, it was a senior course that Hermione had not yet mastered.

She felt useless when she thought about it; her magical strength was so different that she couldn't help Evan.

In this complicated and tense mood, Hermione sat alone in the darkness of the lake for a few hours.

Her body was freezing, but she didn't care; she only hoped that Evan could be safe.

Naturally, she was overjoyed to see Evan come out.

Hermione hugged her tightly; although a gust of cold wind blew by, it felt really cold, but Evan's heart was warm.

They hugged each other for a while before being awakened by the cold lake water and wind.

Although Evan wants to do something to Hermione, standing in the waist-deep lake is inappropriate.

They embraced each other back to the shore, and each other could feel the sweetness and peace of mind; Evan listened to Hermione tell her those worries, to their own attachment, and hope that she can become stronger in the future to help themselves!

This girl is much stronger than he thought.

Hermione has always been very good; you do not have to force yourself, but proper practice is necessary.

As for her current biggest problem, but also this age group of small wizards common problems, lack of magic power

Evan thought he could give the magic stone left by Ravenclaw to Hermione. Anyway, the extra piece was of no use to him.

As for the use of the magic power of the magic stone, he had recently figured out a few tricks and made progress in his research.

Unlike Harry, Ron, and Colin, who lacked a theoretical foundation, Hermione's biggest problem now was the lack of sufficient magic power.

Like Evan before, Hermione was very smart, read many magic books, and knew a lot of magic.

Although the focus differed, Evan was more inclined to Transfiguration, Dark Magic, and Defense Against Dark Magic.

On the other hand, Hermione likes magic spells, the history of magic, magic potions, ancient magic text, arithmetic divination, and other non-combat magic directions.

However, they all encountered the same problem: due to the limitation of magic power, most of the magic she could not perform.

Because of this, Hermione was unable to display her strength completely.

The magic stone was the only effective and fastest way to increase her magic power.

Evan was thinking that he should bring Hermione with him the next time he went to the bottom of the lake.

More than 20 minutes later, the two of them returned to the castle hand in hand.

Just as they walked into the foyer, they saw the figure of a person quickly disappearing around the corner of the stairs.

Evan froze momentarily; that person's appearance seemed to be Keresys.
