With what happened that day no one spoke or even dared to mention anything about it, in fear that another or similar event will happen causing something drastic to change within their timeline. Blaire's condition has started to increase, as now she's finally able to walk around without any issues regarding her core and is pain free for now.
??? POV:
I sat within my throne within my mighty castle, waiting for something or anything to pull me out of my boredom while my wife remains busy with the little cubs within the infirmary. I left time dragging on like I've been sat here for years, but only the memories of her face remained glued within my mind, and some days those memories felt real like I actually held her right then and there within my arms. Feeling her warmth. Hearing that beautiful laughter. I missed my old beloved wife, but at least I got to keep a picture of you on my wall. And everyday my heart would be left completely empty knowing you aren't here to hug and love me anymore. Even our children aren't the same without you. Not even that beast of a daughter who looked almost exactly like you. But no one could ever beat your beautiful smooth Snow white skin, ocean blue eyes that would sparkle in the moonlight, that elegant flowing long golden yellow hair that glistened to any light that dared to touch it, and let's not forget about those 2 set of breathtaking white curved horns, but even I knew that some thing weren't meant to exist. Her existence only reminds me of what happened that day. The real reason why you are no longer here. My dear only lover, I shall give that heartless monster what she deserves for taking you awake from me. Even if it means losing another piece of you, it is worth everything I have. You deserve justice.
However, the door to my throne room creaked open allowing one of my guards to peek in halfway through. I can tell it was something urgent with the sweat doing down his face, as my eyes glued onto him like an eagle spotting it's prey.
"Your highness, the doppelgänger has returned and wishes for your presence immediately" the knight spoke wishing to know what their next command would be. Just like an obedient dog listening to their master's every command.
"Bring him in" I instructed resting the side of my face against my elbow rested hand on my throne. Spotting the doppelgänger walking in allowing it to take off my son's appearance from its filthy skin, revealing its light blue skin, short navy blue hair and violet eyes. He was wearing his fighting attire along with some maroon and red coloured armour, that was gifted if that thing was to resist against them. He kneeled before the steps towards my throne paying his respects to me, the emperor of this empire.
"I am here with important information about Blaire, but you aren't going to like it, sir" he spoke hearing the nervous shake within his voice, as I growled in frustration intensifying my glare towards this fool. Can't anyone do their job right?
"For the love of Dione. What have you done now, Dex?" I hissed allowing my orange eyes to glow brightly at him while my jet black skin shined by the light through the window of my castle, as my long black and red fiery hair flowed violently, while my goatee remained still as I impatiently waited for this pathetic worm to speak.
"She has escaped thanks to a ghost within the human realm, along with her daughter Avery. He is very powerful and it only took him 10-15 minutes to over came my paralysis venom. But her core is starting to slowly break just like you wanted" Dex answered bringing me some rather interesting news of what has happened ever since she escaped my empire, and our home realm, but I don't blame her. Only a mistake would choose to run away from their problems, and soon they will catch up to her and eventually kill everything they hold dear.
"Good. things are starting to take an interesting toll. And for your next order, I want more intel about this hero and how you can crush him. Do anything to make them snap" I demanded serious an all as I wanted nothing more than the demise of my own blood once the criminal is dead. I refuse to let a monster to carry on my bloodline, even if her ghost form showed no similarities to mine. My mind knows it was for the best that her real form never sees the light of day again, but thanks to her mother it remains dormant within her human disguise. She has no right to show off her mothers face for what she has done. No one will love her or that sad excuse of a daughter she managed to conjure up. Nothing will save you from my rage Blaire or should I say Devina, that's if you even deserve such a heavenly name. You're only preventing your own downfall, the more you run away from me and your problems.
Dex stepped back up as my real son entered being my top knight champion fighter, wearing a red cape in his mother's honour. He hates those who used his appearance for bad or justice, but why is he here? I thought he was out seeing his 'lover'. He better not be seeing that damn peasant again.
"I demand an explanation father. Why use my face to make her suffer? When I can just go out there and do it myself! No one in that realm can stop me and you know it" he wasn't wrong Kai is most undoubtedly one of my most powerful men I've got on the field, but I do not want to risk it just in case she chooses to let loose and take him away as well. I don't want to lose him the same way like his mother.
"You know exactly why. Devina is far too dangerous for you at the moment, son. So leave it to me. I will get rid of that traitor before it decides to kill anymore innocent lives. It even decided to have a child, you believe that? A child!" I roared giving him ever more the reason to hate her, I can sense his power rising even more that flame, that power. He will soon be ready to finish what has been done once crowned emperor of this unstoppable empire.
"Then why don't you kill it? Give her what she deserves by taking away the one pieces that's keeping her whole! It's only going to do more damage if kept alive" Kai argued back at me despite his plan sounding much more better than my some of my own. The thought of it made a smile creep onto my face, a way to finally give Devina the pain she deserves.
"I always knew you were better than your older brother. Now Dex, do you now understand the next part of my plan?" I turned my attention back at the shapeshifter as he nodded confidently in silence, before dismissing himself immediately. Now it's just me and my son. "It won't be long until the crown chooses it's next heir, and we both know only you are worthy of such an honour my son. But before that can happen, we need that beast to return and kill it on the big day in front of everyone so they can finally live in peace" death in my mind was the only solution to sort this mess out, and what that thing had done to my home and to my family. It deserves to rot in hell for all eternity along with its devilish offspring.
No one's POV:
Ghost activity throughout the town has started to increase, but not only that. only 5 of them 3 male, 2 female weren't exactly from the human realm as Dex was one of them, as he came out from a blue coloured portal last seeing how dark the sky was slowly becoming, arriving back at the right time and do his job. He glanced around at his followers who seemed ready to start their hunt and deal some damage to society.
"You know the drill, bring me the child, but only I shall end it in front of its mother. After that run as far as you can or your life with be next of its list, and it isn't like the king would care if you lower and middle ranks were to fall" Dex warned them of the consequences of their mission allowing the group to seperate and search around for Avery along with her mother, even though grabbing the child is going to be a hard task to do despite them currently stuck with the Fentons, but it won't be long until Blaire can finally move on and live the life she wanted with her daughter.
With the house almost empty as most of the family was either out doing work or teens enjoying the time they have with their friends, but Dan was left watching over Avery while Blaire was gone to do her own thing for a couple of hours, and wouldn't be back yet near around midnight like she had stated once before. He was in the kitchen going through the cookie jar when out of nowhere Avery came over and tugged on the back of his jeans, causing him to pause munching on the last cookie as he glanced down seeing her staring directly up at him, forcing Dan to swallow the cookie allowing himself to speak.
"What is it squirt? I'm kinda a little busy" he asked knowing how bad Avery's tantrums can get especially if she were to find out that he had just ate the last cookie in the cookie jar. Dan watched her eyes dart between him and the counter instantly letting him know exactly what she wanted, but he knew it was impossible as none were inside. "Sorry kid, I just ate the last one. You'll have to ask your mama to make some more and hope I don't eat them all as well" he jokingly added purposely messing with the child and easy target, but she didn't do the usual stomp and scoff like she always did. No, this was different. Avery went silent with her face looking down at the tile flooring confusing Dan as he starting to poke her little head. "Yo, kid. Are you in there?" he asked not realising that his own actions was only making her even more furious of such a betrayal from the real cookie stealer. A little growl escaped from Avery's mouth causing him to pause and turn his whole body to properly peer down at her, not used to such a silence. Is she really that mad at him over a cookie? "You should know by now that I don't like to share your mama's cookies, especially when it comes to the last one. Sorry, but it's hard to resist when she's the one making them" Dan's apology didn't sound too sincere even though it wasn't meant to hurt only to mess with Avery, as he knew she cannot exactly hurt him yet due to her size and human form.
"You're a big meanie!" Avery roared unexpectedly transforming into her ghost form right before his very eyes for the first time. He was left shocked at first and stepped back as her scarlett red eyes glared up at him baring her ghost fangs at him, as his eyes looked at the girl's form. Her ghostly skin was such a pale light shade of green it almost came close to becoming white, and as for that flowing almost fiery hair it was white sharing some gold like sparkles along with some tony little curled horns that were a little darker than her skin itself still growing through, but the clothes she wore remained the same from when she was in her human form. Black shirt with flowers and black leggings.
"The fuck!" he cussed out loud as she heard him swear for the first time unlike how he was around the others, but when realising this the two just stood there confused and shocked staring at one another.
"You swore. Imma tell my mama so she won't be making you anymore cookies. Bad boys don't get cookies!" Avery ran out from the kitchen for a moment leaving Dan to think for a second, until the child came back screaming with a wooden sword they would use to pretend to be knights and fight for the princess. Dan was taken back as Avery swung it at him as he moved out of the way missing him completely, and slowly made his way out of the kitchen with her following after him when finally being able to hit Dan at the back of his left knee, making it go dead for a second before regaining its strength and grabbed Avery by the back of her shirt and pulled her up to his level, stripping the sword from the girl's hands.
"Stop hitting me, it's annoying or I'll tell your mama that you tried to steal the cookies again" Dan said making his action pretty clear to ground the girl as she growled a smacked him, this was odd behaviour until she started kicking his chest not doing any damage, but her feisty attitude was interesting as he walked into the living room and saw the state it was in. Everything was a mess like a tsunami of children came in and thrown everything about, leaving a mess for him to tidy up, and glanced his eyes back at Avery who went silent. "You better stay quiet while I tidy this mess up, but next time you're doing it" he growled throwing the girl on the sofa and instantly got to work, putting everything back in their respectful places or at least some of them for now.
While Avery silently watched still in her ghost form as Dan cleaned up a mess she had made because he chose to mess with her, but once he finished Avery still remained in her ghost form and chuckled at him cleaning her mess up, as he lifted his head up and glanced over his shoulder at her.
"Oh? Is this funny to you? Making the innocent guy clean up your mess?" He questioned seeing how cheeky she has became putting a somewhat smile on his face.
"You no innocent. You ate all of the cookies, so you're bad" Avery replied pointed at him with her index finger which made Dan shrug his shoulder not exactly wrong, but he also didn't seem to care.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm a bad bad boy. Is there anything else you wanna say I don't already know about?" He asked standing up and slightly turned his body to face Avery who started to chuckle, as if she had something mischievous in mind.
"Yeah! You like my mama's butt, hehehe. I see you stare at it all the time when she walks by" this response got Dan rather flustered and shocked as he stood there staring at the girl, as she continued to laugh at him.
"And? She has a fine ass. I'll chose it over a cookie any day, but no grassing on me either or I'll tell her you've been bad. No cookies for either of us if you open your little trap" Dan stated trying to keep his cool around a kid who knew how to use her words, but it was hard to counter attack when she takes most of her mother's qualities. Big mouth, beauty and knows more than a 3 year old should.
"Anyway.. Can I see your ghost form again? Please! And I won't tell mama about you staring. Do we have a deal?" Avery asked having a rather interesting offer for him to take, and of course he accepted and transformed seeing how oddly excited she was to see it compared to some who would actually fear it. He felt accepted by the child like she was somewhat like his own in a way, but he knew it was impossible, unless he tries to teach her how to fight on the up coming future like he was a somewhat father figure to the girl. A very odd thought, but if it helped him impress Blaire then so be it.
