Chapter 4 - Re-Edit

In the confusion and uncertainty, I decided to ignore the message that appeared on the screen.

[Alan who is continuing to read is amazed.]

「Why is he ignoring it? 」

I continued my work of cleaning the floor carefully, remaining focused on the task I had been assigned.

Time flies when I'm in Eleron Castle. I learned about my duties as a maid and adapted to my new life. Elerona's family treats me well, and even though there are still many things I don't understand, I feel comfortable here.

However, that strange screen appeared before me again, reminding me of something I had ignored before.

[Protect the Princess Elerona from poison]

I feel confused. Why is this screen in front of me in the first place? Is this really related to Elerona or just a fantasy? But I can't take the risk, despite the uncertainty, I must try to understand and carry out this mission for the sake of Elerona's safety.

「Finally he wants to move」murmured Alan who was reading

With a nervous, I walked from corridor to corridor, trying to find where Elerona was. I didn't have a clear clue about what I should do or how to protect her from the "poison" mentioned in the message, but I felt the need to find out more and try to carry out this mission for Elerona's safety.

After walking for some time without clear directions, I finally found Elerona talking to several maids in the central room of the castle. She smiled and looked so elegant in her beautiful dress.

I approached him carefully, not wanting to interrupt his conversation. However, just before I arrived near him, the screen appeared in front of me again.

[Daily Quest]

[Protect the Princess Elerona from poison]

My hands shook and my heart beat faster. What does this message mean? Why do I feel more and more restless?

Elerona then noticed me and asked, "Is something wrong, Kratia?"

I shook my head and tried to smile, "No, Princess. I just want to make sure everything is okay."

Elerona nodded with a gentle smile, then continued her conversation with the maid. Meanwhile, I'm trying to understand what to do next. My time is running out, and I have to protect Elerona.

A few moments later, a waiter from the castle who passed us brought two small glasses of drink. He offered one of the glasses to Elerona politely.

Elerona smiled and accepted the glass, "Thank you, Mira."

When Elerona took the drink, I felt even more uneasy. What happens if the drink is contaminated? Does the message that appears on the screen have anything to do with this?

I stood beside Elerona, trying to stay alert. Screens with quest messages kept appearing in front of me, reminding me of the responsibilities I carried out.

Elerona raised her glass, ready to drink. My time is running out, and I have to make a decision soon.

Elerona took the glass without hesitation. As soon as he drank the contents, his expression changed drastically. His face turned pale, his eyes widened, and his mouth began to foam.

[Daily Quest]

[Protect the Princess Elerona from poison]

[Mission Failed]

The waiter who gave me the glass was shocked and immediately accused me, "Kratia! What have you done?!"

I stood where I was with wide eyes, trying to explain, "No, I didn't do anything! I was just standing here!"

However, the other servants had already gathered, and some of them also started pointing accusations at me. An atmosphere of panic and confusion reigned.

The atmosphere in the room was so chaotic. Elerona was sprawled on the floor, her eyes glazed over, and her labored breathing indicating that something bad was happening. Meanwhile, the other maids looked at me with a look of suspicion and fear.

I feel completely trapped in this strange situation. I tried to say that I didn't do anything, it was as if my voice and words were drowned out by the ensuing chaos. Some of them started moving towards me, perhaps with the intention of punishing me for what they considered to be my evil actions.

However, suddenly there was the sound of quick footsteps approaching from another direction. Orteg emerged quickly and took charge of the situation with dignity. "Enough!" he shouted, causing the maids to pause for a moment. "Don't forget that Kratia is our loyal servant. She would never do anything to harm Princess Elerona!"

As Orteg spoke, his eyes flashed with confidence. He seemed very convinced of my innocence. However, suspicion still haunts some of them.

Elerona herself was still lying, her condition getting worse. Suddenly, he started vomiting blood, which made everyone panic even more.

"We have to call a healer immediately!" said one of them.

Orteg replied, "That's right! And I'm going to find out what's going on here. Kratia, stay calm. We'll figure this out."

I could only watch everything that was happening, feeling confused and helpless in this situation. What really happened to Elerona, and why was I involved in it? All these questions swirled in my mind as I tried to find answers that never came.

Even though Orteg tried to calm the situation down, one maid, who seemed to be the most stubborn of all, still insisted on blaming me. His eyes kept looking at me with a sharp look, and he kept repeating that this was my evil doing.

"I believe it's because of Kratia! He did it!" she said, and several of the other maids started talking in agreement with her.

I tried to explain back that I didn't do anything at all, but my words were still not believed. They all looked very angry, and the situation was getting more and more tense.

Orteg tries again to defuse the situation. "You all need to stay calm. We will find out what exactly happened. There is no way Kratia did this."

However, the stubborn maid was unshakable. He still insisted on accusing me, even louder. "We can't trust an unknown person like him! He must have done it!"

The situation is getting worse, and now I feel like I'm in danger. Several maids started approaching me, as if preparing to take physical action against me. Orteg tried to protect me, but he seemed to have trouble controlling them too.

Just as things were starting to feel hopeless, the door opened, and Arion Eleron, Elerona's father, came into the room. His face was serious, and immediately the atmosphere calmed down instantly. All the maids respected him and gave him space.

"It's enough!" said Arion in a calm but authoritative voice. "We will handle this situation calmly. In the meantime, get a doctor for my daughter."

Arion then looked at me. "And Kratia, you have to stay here until everything is over. But don't worry, we will investigate what really happened."

I felt helpless, but the only thing I could do was obey their orders. I still feel confused and angry about these unfair accusations, but I also feel that there is something bigger going on behind all of this. As I was forced to remain there, my eyes kept darting to the mysterious screen, wondering if it had the answer I was looking for.

[Back to Alan]

I took a deep breath and turned off my cell phone. The story feels too cliche and not very interesting. Even so, it was one of the many stories I've read over the years.

I looked at the wall clock which showed evening, and mom still hadn't come home. It's already late afternoon

Ting-nung! sound of the doorbell rang, disturbing the peace of the house.

I stood up from my little sister bed and left my parents' room. In front, I saw mother carrying shopping bags from the vegetable shop, her face tired after a day of shopping and work.

"Welcome home, mother," I said with a smile.

Mom walked past me towards the kitchen, placing the shopping bags on the table. "Yes, is your sister sleeping soundly?"

"Yes, it's been a long time coming home, mother," I asked as I followed her into the kitchen.

"Oh yeah, there was a discount earlier, so I took advantage of it, te-he." Mother smiled as she opened the grocery bag and started taking out a variety of fresh vegetables that she had just bought. I saw that there were carrots, potatoes, tomatoes and a number of other vegetables neatly arranged on the table.

"Do you want to help mommy prepare dinner, son?" asked mother with a smile.

I smiled at her gently, "I'm sorry, mother, but I have things I have to do."

"Okay then, after 7pm come down, breakfast will be ready."

"Yes," I answered briefly.

I then walked upstairs to my room, leaving my mother who was busy preparing dinner. Slowly, I entered my room and closed the door from behind, while turning on the light in the dark room. I returned to my computer desk and looked at the novel canvas that continued to run. Since the canvas was typing automatically, the monitor showed the newly appeared typing, and I read it carefully.

[Eventually I left the world because of the guilt of not saving Elerona.]

And there was an inscription at the end, [The End].

"HUH!?" I am surprised.

What did I just read? That sounds like a tragic ending to a story, but what does it mean? That's all...? Eh, wait, this is still canvas, just try it and let me change it.

I had a brilliant idea and immediately pulled out a bunch of words and deleted them, then started changing them word by word. I felt as though I could change the course of this story, make it better. Nothing can stop me now, except...

When I finished editing the story, I went back to the last section and saw the results of my changes. As it turned out, this story became much better than before. Now, Kratia has the chance to save Elerona and face an interesting challenge. But what will happen next? I returned to the computer screen with great curiosity.

[Warning Quest]

[Protect the Princess Elerona from poison]

[Time: 1 hour]

[Reward: 2x Experience, Mana]

[Must Help!!!]

Those are the words I changed, now... I just have to wait for the continuation of the story. 10 minutes passed, then 15 minutes... but after an hour, not a word came.

"What happen? where did the words that suddenly appeared have they disappeared?"

I was confused and disappointed. Why did the words that appeared so easily, but now just disappear? I tried looking for answers, but no clear clues. Did I make the wrong changes? Or is there something else that influences this story?

Without a definite answer, I felt frustrated. I want to know more about Kratia, Elerona, and the world in which they live. I want to know how this story will develop. But now, everything seems to have stopped.

I can only sit in front of the computer, waiting in the hope that the words will reappear and the story will continue.

"Come on!" I said excitedly, anticipating the next words that would appear on the computer screen.

I kept staring at the canvas with the writing I last changed, this? What is this, when the ending words suddenly appear and disappear? Should I destroy my case again? So that my hands bleed… bleed? Blood…

My eyes darted from the canvas to my computer keyboard, thinking about what to do next. Somehow, I feel that there is something big connected to all of this. Is there really a connection between this canvas and the strange ability I have?

Street! The sound of the chair sliding backwards because I stood up

"The main character is a vampire, and blood! That's right." It's like a hint, and I feel that I should follow my intuition.

I came out of my room and ran to the kitchen to get the kitchen, when I got to the kitchen I saw my mother was chopping onions, I immediately grabbed the knife and ran back upstairs

Mother looked at me with a surprised expression as I ran into the kitchen and grabbed the knife she was using. I immediately ran back upstairs, screaming, "Hey! im using that knife!"

"I borrow!" I shouted again as I ran towards my room, with my mind focused on what I should do next.

I approached the computer case with a pounding heart. The knife that I plunged into my hand has not been forgotten in my memory, but right now it seems I have no other choice. Cautiously, I stuck my hand through the glass hole in the computer case, ready to cut my skin.
