Chapter 41 - Enchanted woodlands [Pt 10]

[Congratulations to the Host for successfully acquiring the lost book "Dark Call". ]

[Host, the books "Dark Call" and "Cursed Book" simultaneously reflect each other, Would you like to merge the two books into one and create a new book?]

[Accept OR Reject]

As the robotic voice buzzed in my mind, offering to merge the "Dark Call" and the "Cursed Book," I felt surprised for a moment.

The choice felt heavy, making me unsure. Before I could fully understand, Deadra sensed my worry and quickly brought me back.

His ghostly shape leaned in urgently. "What's wrong, Alex? Tell me!"

I took a second to calm down and decided not to explain the complicated merging. "It's okay, Deadra. Just a surprise from the books. Nothing to worry about."

Deadra, still watchful, looked at me for a moment but chose not to ask more.

Instead, I changed the topic, "Do you know where I can find the Queen of Myths?"

In response, Deadra's eyes lit up with ancient knowledge.

"Queen, hmmm! Yes. " (Deadra)

He gently pulled me closer and shared the secret spot. "She lives in the Grove, deep in the heart of the magical forest. Be careful, as there lives a monster who protects the Queen's castle, and only those seen as worthy can go."

Grateful for the info, I nodded. "Grove. Got it. Thanks, Deadra."

"And one more thing, Can you take me out of this ruin?" I asked, feeling in a hurry.

Surprisingly, Deadra, looking thoughtful, agreed, "Sure thing, mortal. Shut your eyes and trust my guidance."

When I closed my eyes, a sudden burst of energy surrounded us. It felt like reality was being twisted and changed. When I opened my eyes again, we weren't in the old place anymore. Everything around us was different, and I stood outside in the moonlight.

"Thanks, Deadra," I said, showing my thanks.

But when I looked at him, Deadra said strange things that gave me chills. "Remember, mortal, shadows have secrets, and the moon hides more than you see."

Before I could understand what he meant, Deadra started to disappear. He glanced at me one last time with mysterious eyes and vanished, leaving me alone outside.

"What did he mean and why did he say that? "

The air felt strange, and the old place seemed to keep secrets that matched Deadra's last words. I had more questions than answers, and the strange journey was still going on.

....

In an eerie twist of events, Deadra materialized once again in the ruins, right where we stood moments ago.

The mist seemed to converge around him, forming his ghostly figure.

As he reappeared, his gaze fixed on a mysterious figure already present in the ancient chamber.

The stranger, cloaked in shadows, possessed an otherworldly aura.

A dim light flickered, revealing sharp features and a sense of ancient wisdom emanated from every pore. Their eyes met, and a silent acknowledgement passed between them.

"Ah, Deadra," the mysterious figure spoke with a voice that echoed through the ruins. "It seems our paths intersect once more."

Deadra inclined his ethereal form, acknowledging the presence. "Indeed, Aeon. Fate has a way of weaving its threads in unexpected patterns."

Aeon, with a dreadful smile, turned his attention to me. "And who was that mortal that caught your interest, Deadra? There's a peculiar energy surrounding him."

Deadra's gaze shifted to me, and for a moment, the air thickened with unspoken words. "That was Alex, a seeker of the arcane guide and the bearer of the cursed book."

Aeon's eyes gleamed with interest. "Ah, the Arcane guide and the cursed book. A convergence of light and shadow. A risky endeavour, wouldn't you agree?"

Deadra nodded, "Risky, indeed. But there is more to Alex than the book and Arcane guide. He seeks the Queen of Myths, and his journey is intertwined with forces beyond our understanding."

Aeon's smile widened, revealing a profound understanding. "The Queen of Myths? An ambitious quest. But there is a dance of shadows in his destiny, Deadra. Do you not sense it?"

Deadra's spectral form rippled, conveying a mix of concern and curiosity. "Shadows play their games, Aeon. What do you see?"

Aeon's gaze bore into Deadra, and his words carried a weight of ancient knowledge. "My friend, the threads of fate weave a complex tapestry around him. The Queen of Myths holds answers, but beware of the veiled truths. Not all is as it seems."

As the conversation deepened, Aeon drew from cinematic wisdom. "In the curtains of life, we're all connected. Threads interwoven, destinies entangled."

Deadra, reflecting on the cryptic words, responded with philosophical insight. "Yet, the dance of shadows often conceals the true nature of the weave. Are we mere pawns or architects of our fate?"

Aeon, unfazed, quoted an incomprehensible line. "The shadows hold secrets, and only those willing to face the darkness can unveil the truths within."

The atmosphere thickened with anticipation as Deadra spoke critically, "Alex, the journey ahead is dangerous. The choices you make will echo across kingdoms."

Aeon, with a solemn expression, said, "May God bless him."

As Aeon prepared to depart, Deadra revealed, "I have important work with my disciples. Farewell, Aeon."

With a mysterious gesture, Deadra disappeared into the air.

Aeon, in a final enigmatic moment, looked at ceilings and spoke, "Alex, may our paths meet in future." And with that, he vanished from the ancient chamber.

....

In the mystical forest, shadows played beneath the ancient trees, and the air vibrated with an otherworldly energy.

"Mahh-Mahh. "

Suddenly, the tranquillity was shattered by the thundering of hooves and the frantic panting of someone running for their life.

Through the dense foliage, a figure emerged, sprinting with desperate determination.

It was Alex, our seeker of arcane mysteries and bearer of the merged books.

Fear etched across his face as he cast frantic glances over his shoulder.

Behind him, a horde of bull-like creatures, massive and relentless, charged through the underbrush, their eyes ablaze with an unnatural fire.

The ground shook with their pursuit, and the forest seemed to groan under their collective weight.

Alex darted between trees, his breaths ragged, the monsters closing in.

The ominous shadows stretched and contorted with every desperate step he took.

It became evident that these creatures were not mere forest denizens but something far more menacing.

"Why the fuck did I do that? ".
